Panther Falls, WA - Beautiful waterfall in Washington state.
Breath-taking waterfall in Washington. Highly untraveled and far away from busy highways you can enjoy this all to yourself. Sorry about no sound on the video, my photo camera doesn't record video very well or with sound, and that's all I had with me.
These falls are located north of Carson, WA. Drive through Carson on Wind River Rd until you get to the second Old Hwy Rd junction on the right. Turn there then immediately turn left on to Panther Creek Rd. Follow for 7.2 miles up a winding, single car width road. Pull off at the large dirt parking area on the right and back-track down the road a few yard and there will be a trail cut through the trees. From there walk it's an easy hike to a view area. But for the more capable, there is a rough cut trail to the left of the view point that scales down the 80ft cliff. It's not extremely difficult, but there are a couple of vertical rock climbs. Nothing that needs equipment though. Believe me, it's worth seeing the bottom and the thick mossy bliss.

SW Washington has many impressive hidden gems. If I had to choose, these would be my top three favorite off trail waterfalls within this region. With that being said, I haven't seen them all, so you decide for yourself.

I think this is one of the most beautiful falls in the state. I shot this while on assignment for The Escapes TV network on Nov. 8, 2011. It will be part of a much longer version which will be appearing on Escapes TV in the near future.
Panther Creek Falls is a 130-foot (40 m) waterfall on Panther Creek in the Wind River Valley in Skamania County, Washington. The waterfall consists of two drops, with the largest at a height of 102 feet (31 m).[1] The waterfall is perennial. It is also easy to get to by hiking a short distance ( 1/4 mile ) from Panther Creek Road.

We set out on a mission to see some waterfalls. We wanted to see Toketee Falls, but the trail was extremely icy and dangerous. Luckily we found a backup: Fall Creek Falls.
I think the best view of the day was the extremely blue water in the Umpqua River! Oregon is so beautiful!

Drift Creek Falls - Oregon Coast
Located 12 miles east of Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast. Nice forest trail leads down to a 240 foot suspension bridge over Drift Creek and a great view of Drift Creek Falls.

Government Mineral Springs Guard Station Gifford Pinchot National Forest
The guard station is part of the Government Mineral Springs campground that includes the Iron Mike mineral well and public hand pump.
Near Carson, Washington, the Wind River, and within the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
Don't forget that you'll need a forest pass in the Gifford Pinchot National forest because the government needs your money more than you do....
P.S. if you leave the forest and you are in B.L.M. land, (Bureau of land management) you'll need a discover pass because the government needs your money more than you do......
P.S. If you park in the wrong place near the cabin you'll get a parking ticket. Didn't happen to me but others have found out the hard way.

Visiting Stevenson, WA on a very stormy Fall day. Had breakfast and a huckleberry mocha at Bigfoot Coffee Roasters. Learned how the gorge was created at the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. Finished off the day with lunch at Skamania Lodge in the River Rock restaurant.
