Factory outlet malls, traditionally stores where manufacturers could sell last season's overstock or defective merchandise, are a US phenomenon. The Fashion Outlets of Chicago, a groundbreaking retail development within the factory outlet category, could change the way factory outlets operate in the US. For instance, many outlet malls have no interior walkways, but the Fashion Outlets are completely enclosed. Many outlet malls are far away from city centers and only accessible by car, but the Fashion Outlets are accessible by train and are close to O'Hare International Airport. OTIS Gen2 Passenger Elevator @ Fashion Outlets of Chicago, in Rosemont, IL.
MY THOUGHTS:
This elevator is one of three Gen2 passenger elevators in this mall. This elevator and one other has flush push buttons, but the other one has the push buttons that stick out. I'm not sure why they didn't just go with the flush push buttons for all of the elevators. This elevator runs well, and has a nice cab. It is a bit slow for a Gen2, but that isn't much of an issue, because the elevator only serves 2 floors. Overall, this elevator is a very nice install, and runs very well.

3rd Newer Otis GEN2 Series 2 Traction Mall Elevator @ Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Rosemont, IL
This is the 3rd elevator located in the mall portion of this facility. This elevator is pretty much identical to the other two elevators and shares a common characteristic with the 2nd elevator with them having flush buttons. However, once Victor and I were done filming, a security guard appeared out of the blue and told us that we weren't allowed to take photos or record video in this mall.
Although this time, it wasn't a big deal that we got busted since this was the last elevator we filmed and already filmed all the escalators compared to when we went to Hawthorne Mall in Vernon Hills and got busted right off the bat.
It probably was a bad idea to point my camera at the security cameras in the elevator and get a cab view with the doors open where my camera would be more noticeable. So far, the malls in the Chicago suburbs that I know that don't allow photography/videography are Hawthorne Mall in Vernon Hills and Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont. There might be more that don't but these are the only ones I know off the bat. So for any elevator enthusiast who is new to Chicago or hasn't filmed in this mall, be really careful if you do and try to not point your camera at any security camera or make it noticeable.

2nd Scenic Newer Otis Series 2 Traction Parking Elevator @ Fashion Outlets of Chicago, Rosemont, IL
(Filmed on 5/28/18). This is the other scenic parking elevator in the Fashion Outlets mall near Saks Fifth Avenue. This elevator is pretty much identical to the other one and serves six levels as well. I've noticed the scenic elevators serving the parking levels serve six levels and the enclosed ones that serve both the mall and parking levels serve seven.
