FIRST VIDEO DEBUT for Fancy-FreeRV!
Hey, Kati here! On March 11, 2017, on the way back home to Minnesota, my Pops and I decided to check out this campground to see if it was worthy of the Prowler Lynx. Turns out, it's not fit for anything larger than a travel trailer. However, it's PERFECT if you're traveling with a tent, or hauling a pop-up, or even if you have a truck camper. Regardless, Portage Bay State Campground is a beautiful gem in the woods. Plenty of bathrooms, and hills and trees to keep you out of the wind and sun. ENJOY!

Mystery Artifact at the Michigan Historical Museum
What is it? The curators at the Michigan Historical Museum are stumped by this mysterious artifact in their collection.
Jeremy Dimick describes this unknown item that was donated early in the museum's history, before record keeping is what it today (circa 1913). The artifact came from a mining ghosttown in Michigan's Upper Penninsula that is now Fayette Historical Townsite (michigan.gov/fayettetownsite). The artifact is now part of a small collection of unknown items in storage at the Michigan Historical Museum in Lansing.
The item is intricately made of wood, with a handle on one end. Small circles of wood are attached by nails to the top and formerly to the bottom. The item is about 6 inches tall and about as wide as it is tall. It is perhaps a foot in length and has a slight point on the end opposite of the handle.
Leave a comment below if you have any idea what this item could be.
Recorded on February 18, 2012 using a Flip Video camera.

Flint Water 'Biggest Case' in State History
(9 Feb 2016) A former FBI special agent called to investigate Flint's water crisis calls it the biggest case in Michigan history.
Andy Arena, the former head of Detroit's FBI office, now serves as chief investigator for a state probe into the Flint emergency.
Arena said at a news conference Tuesday in Lansing that his team of nine full-time investigators has hit the ground running and that the people of Flint deserve answers, and we are going to get them those answers.
Flint is under a state of emergency because of lead-tainted water. Outside experts also have suggested a link between the Flint River and a Legionnaires' disease outbreak.
There were at least 87 cases across Genesee County during a 17-month period, including nine deaths.
The city's water supply was switched from the Detroit system to the Flint River as a cost-saving measure in 2014, when Flint was under state-appointed emergency management.
It was an interim measure while a new pipeline to Lake Huron is being built.
But the improperly treated river water caused lead to leach from old pipes.
If consumed, lead can cause developmental delays and learning disabilities. Flint since has switched back to the Detroit water system. Gov. Rick Snyder, under fire for his administration's role in the emergency, has accepted responsibility while also blaming state and federal environmental regulators.
Arena was joined at Tuesday's news event by his deputy, Ellis Stafford; the probe's special counsel, Todd Flood; and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette.

Illinois Adventure #1208 Bishop Hill
In 1846, a group of Swedish immigrants seeking religious freedom left their native land under the guidance of their charismatic spiritual leader, Erik Jansson. The site for their new utopia, later called Bishop Hill, was described to them as a land of plenty, brimming with milk and honey, and they struggled to make it so. These Janssonists built a successful communal society based on economic and religious principals. Many of the structures erected during this building campaign still exist. The colony grew and flourished for fifteen years before disbanding in 1861.
Today, Bishop Hill is a quiet country village where descendants of the flesh and descendants of the noble spirit of those original colonists still live and strive to make this community a utopia restored. Bishop Hill is a National Landmark Village, listed in the National Register of Historic Places and it is an Illinois State Historic Site. We are the pride of Henry County, Illinois.
700 Pound Snake Pulled out of Lake in North Carolina
Giant 700 pound snake caught in lake in Proctor, North Carolina. The giant man eating python was measured at 98 feet long. Police were contacted to see if there have been any recently filed missing person reports as a snake this big could have surely eaten a human.
This giant snake is massive and just gorgeous, but it didn't take long to find out that the STORY behind it... was fake, just another hoax.
While the image is indeed real, I think the size of the giant snake could have been exaggerated due to the camera angle
Nevertheless, this snake is still huge, but where did it come from? The markings on it's skin looks similar to that of a reticulated python native to Southeast Asia. After playing around with a little Google translate, the mystery was finally solved.
This giant python came from Indonesia and after some rough translating, it turns out that it was discovered this last Thanksgiving near the village of Belinyu City. It was found by accident by a group of construction workers who severely injured the reptile while knocking down a large dead tree in which the python was sleeping inside of. The workers put the dying snake out of it's misery and buried it.
It's sad to see such an incredible animal killed, especially one that could have been a new world record size. I wish there were more pictures so we could get a better idea of just how large it was.
I really enjoyed learning about this amazing snake, if you guys have any cool wildlife stories or interesting animals that you think I might enjoy, tell me about it on Facebook

The Inn at 97 Winder in Detroit, Michigan
The Inn at 97 Winder is a beautiful and historic boutique inn in downtown Detroit.
I spent one night at the inn during my visit to Detroit and I had a wonderful time at the property.
The inn features 9 different uniquely decorated rooms and the interior of the inn has been designed in a historic and classical way giving off a very charming and welcoming vibe.
I stayed in the loft room on the top floor of the inn and it was spacious, well-suited for two people, and there was a beautiful wrought iron staircase that led up to a loft seating area with an incredible view of the Detroit skyline.
I definitely prefer this style of boutique hotel accommodation compared to staying at a chain hotel because you get a much more memorable experience.
Overall, I would definitely recommend checking out the charming Inn at 97 Winder if you're planning a trip to Detroit and looking for somewhere to stay in the city.
