Rock Climbing in North Cheyenne Canyon, Colorado Springs, Colorado. First Ascent Mountain School
Rock Climbing, on the route Kendlee 5.7, in North Cheyenne Canyon in Colorado Springs, Colorado. North Cheyenne Canyon is a great alternative the sandstone of Garden of The Gods and Red Rock Canyon Open Space, especially after it rains. Never climb on wet sandstone and remember that the sandstone needs AT LEAST 24-48 hours to fully dry out after it rains.

University School of Colorado Springs
The vision of University School of Colorado Springs is threefold: first -- to help students develop a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, second -- to prepare them in leadership and education through a rigorous training environment, and third -- to partner with parents in the overall development of their student's character. We believe that through these three foundational ideas, we will see students live out obedience and service to the Lord, become valuable contributors to culture and model strong family and educational values.
Eleven Mile Canyon, The Staircase Rock Climb, Colorado.
Our visit to Colorado Springs has been a really good one. We found quite a bit to do when it comes to rock climbing. After spending time at the City Rock climbing gym we began venturing out to Red Rocks and of course Garden of the Gods. Our next stop was Eleven Mile Canyon. This canyon is about an hour due west of the Springs.
The canyon offers much more than just rock climbing. The fly fisherman are always present. The same goes for the kayakers running the beautiful river that runs down the middle of this narrow canyon. Really nice campgrounds can be found in several places.
At the time of our visit it cost six dollars to get into the canyon. The folks there are super friendly. As a side note there are also several picnic areas and the restrooms were always clean. Great place for the family to spend a day.
As far as rock climbing you can pretty much pick your poison. Trad climbs, sport climbs, bouldering, you name it. One thing that we enjoyed was the number of easier long routes. This would be a really nice place to learn the ropes.

Colorado Mountain Club 100th Anniversary Celebration Climb - Kit Carson Peak
On September 8th, 2012 the Colorado Mountain Club (CMC) organized celebratory climbs on Colorado's 14ers (peaks over 14,000 feet in elevation) in honor of the organization's 100th anniversary. Hundreds of volunteers, participants, and leaders were involved in the effort all over the state that day and for the weekend.
I, myself, participated in the CMC's Kit Carson climb that was organized by Steve Bonowski. As you can see in this video, Steve and my three other teammates were preparing for our backpack into Willow lake that was then followed by an early Saturday morning start for our climb up Challenger Peak and Kit Carson (Challenger is a 14,080 subpeak of Kit Carson).
