Bellefontaine Ohio long abandoned railroad tracks bridge part 2 of 3
A set of 2 long abandoned railroad tracks run north and south in Bellefontaine Ohio.Both have weeds many feet high in spots.Running north to south they appear first along Elm street.A gravel road runs beside them.South Detroit street continues where Elm st. ends..The tracks run parallel with Elm and south Detroit..We started out walking the tracks from behind Fontaine plaza and continued to where the moose lodge is on S.Detroit..Just before we reached this a third track appeared..It was merging onto these other 2 tracks but you could barely see it due to all the trees and plethora growing all over and around it...It was barely even visible..I went ahead and followed a ways anyway and took some pics and then worked my way back to the 2 tracks we were walking..Tina waited on me..We continued walking further as we found an abandoned shed that used to be used to move the tracks and some old style electrical poles..Then we came across the abandoned bridge..It was all concrete with a short metal railing on each side..It was barely even visible..The creek below it was flowing in full force and I decided against my better judgement to try to climb down there..It wasnt easy but I did.When I reached the creek I found the date 1918 formed into the concrete of the bridge..It was barely legible though..I went ahead and took a video of it and then made a second video (this one) where I walked under it to the other side to discover another date of 1926 inscribed in the concrete..The 3rd video was just a quick record of the abandoned tracks after I climbed back up to the top where Tina awaited my return..It was indeed an experience I wont soon forget..This is truly one of the very last remnants of Bellefontaines railroad history.

7/27/2014 Bellefontaine, OH Severe Storms
Severe storms erupted across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys on Sunday bringing over 200 severe weather reports to the region as of this upload. Storms fired from Michigan down to North Carolina affecting nine states in the Midwest not including storms in the northeast.
Storms over Ohio created some problems, mainly with minor wind damage and flooding as several flood advisories were issued from Columbus and points northwest. A tornado watch was issued for most of Ohio through the day on Sunday.
Video package shot in the town of Bellefontaine, Ohio, which is about 50 miles northwest of Columbus in Logan County. An ASOS station measured a 53mph wind gust with this storm as it rolled through at 6:50pm EDT; it was severe warned as it hit the town.
