Headed out to the reef with Fred and Stewart on a perfectly calm day. You could tell it was going to be a good day when the bait basically lined up to climb on board. Heavy chumming on top and bottom brought as many fish that we wanted to catch.

Florida Fishing & Flapjacks
The Sugar Mill pancake house at Deleon Springs lets you make your own flapjacks with a number of different add ons: Bananas, Chocolate chips, peanut butter, caramel, blueberries, and much more. There is a freshwater spring that powered the sugar mill built in the 1830s up until the 1980s the water wheel still turned. We stayed at the Highland Park Fish Camp in Deland Florida

This video shows some of the great action we see off our Panhandle beachs. We are the Gulf Coasts premiere source for fly fishing charter information. The Florida Panhandle Tarpon fishery encompasses a stretch of coast from Panama City Beach east to the Big Bend. This includes Lanark, Carrabelle, Apalachicola, Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach.
There are 2 major zones in the Florida Panhandle Tarpon fishery and our guides fish both areas. The eastern zone: St. Joe Bay to Panama City Beach and the western zone, Apalachicola Bay to St George Sound. The Apalachicola Tarpon fishery is fished by our guides based along the eastern Panhandle; Alligator Point, Lanark, Carrabelle and Apalachicola. The Western based guides fish out of Port St. Joe, Mexico Beach and Panama City Beach.

A Glimpse of Blue Spring in Blue Spring State Park, Volusia County, FL
This is part of the long spring run, that begins at the head spring - Blue Spring - and feeds into the St. John's River. This is where the manatees come to get away from the cold water in the River during the winter months! The warmer, always-72 degree water, draws groups of manatees into the spring. Each winter, busloads of school kids take field trips here to see the manatees. This is a great spring for swimming and snorkeling. A large park, it can accommodate crowds well; has camping, and even a few heated/air-conditioned cabins available for rent. But hurry! The cabins go fast! This video was shot on an iPhone 4.

Historic Fort Gates Ferry, Monday 8/12/13
We went camping at Salt Springs, Florida, and we took a ride on a nearby historic ferry across the St. John's River that has been in operation well before the 1900's. Depending on which side your on, if the ferry isn't on your side, then you stop on the dock, leave your headlights on, and the driver will have you drive your vehicle on a barge, then maneuver the barge across the river with a wood boat that dates back to 1918. The ride is ten dollars per vehicle, runs in daylight hours and does not run on Tuesdays. Enjoy!
