BLACK FISH - MOST INSANE TOG JIGGING VID IN EXISTENCE 17.8 lber + 6 MORE DD'S FISH BOUND 12/19/18
This is currently one of the COOLEST LIGHT TACKLE tog jigging videos in existence !!!! A fantastic TOG trip aboard the World Record Black Fish boat Fish Bound Charters with Capt. Kane Bounds at the helm. We landed 7 double digit tog on the day including 5 of my own. A 10 lber for Dan Yadegar, and an 11 lber for Capt. Kane. I had 4 over 10 lbs and a 17 lb 8 oz specimen that almost qualified for a new IGFA 16 lb test line class record on a light spinning rod and reel. Unfortunately my braided line tested out well above it's rated strength, nevertheless an insane LIGHT SPINNING ROD TWISTING BATTLE! It was an all around great trip. The fish bit fairly well, and we all caught enough nice fish!
IF YOU LIKE THIS VIDEO PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER JUMBO TOG VIDEOS TOO! BIG TOG IN ALMOST EVERY VIDEO ! AND MY JUMBO SUMMER FLOUNDER ( FLUKE ) VIDEOS TOO !!!
For those anglers who have not experienced Tautog fishing, a 10 lb or heavier DOUBLE DIGIT sized specimen is mainly the goal target. Considered to be (trophy size) to most tog (aka black fish anglers). In the more Southern states of the tautog's range these fish often grow larger due to warmer waters and a longer feeding/growing season, and also less commercial fishing pressure. The States of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, and even Southern NJ, it is more common to occasionally see specimens of 15 lbs or greater. The ultimate goal for most tog anglers is to land a tog of 20 lbs or greater. The present IGFA All Tackle World Record tog is 28 lbs 13 oz and almost 36 inches long caught in Ocean City Maryland aboard the charter boat Fish Bound January of 2015.Catching that fish was certainly one of the great highlights and blessings of the last 25 plus years of my fishing experience.
These fish are said to exist from as far North as the state of Maine and as far South as North Carolina, and are mainly thought of to be a more cold water/ northern Atlantic coastal species. They are known to be notorious bait thieves, which makes it difficult for many rod & reel anglers to figure out their bite which can be very scratchy and light to very hard. Tog mainly predate upon shell fish and crustaceans like crabs, lobsters, mussels, oysters, clams, conch, shrimp, and sand fleas, although they will at times feed on some smaller fin fish species, and other available forage.
Tautog pound for pound are known to be very hard fighters for their size, and because they live in hard bottom structures like wrecks and rock piles, and reefs they often use their homes to their advantage against anglers when hooked, often breaking lines in the hard bottom and causing anglers to snag. Tog are thought of by many to be one of the most challenging and tasty saltwater species to target for all of these reasons. They also happen to be one of the slowest growing species in East Coast Atlantic Ocean waters. There is a large demand and high prices for these fish due to the Asian Live fish market trade that makes them more expensive than 2 lb Maine Lobster most of the year.
Tautog/ Black Fish are one of the larger members of the salt water wrasse family. Scientific name : Tautoga Onitis

BP Oil Spill: The Upper Pascagoula
This really has nothing to do with the BP oil spill except that it's where some of the people effected live and play. Like the bayou tour video posted a couple of weeks ago, this is a guided tour. The difference is that the guide is my new friend, Mark Wood and the narration was a bit less formal.
When Mark offered to take me on a tour, I said yes because he said that it as different than the lower river and it was. Plus, I wanted to see more of what this area has to offer.
This video looks a little different than the last river tour for two reasons. First, I used my Canon XH-A1. I'd used my HV30 for the previous video because of space. Second, this was a lot earlier in the morning so the light was different and it looked different because of the shadows.
This was a lark. Enjoy it.

Hurricane Agnes
Hurricane Agnes was, at the time, the costliest hurricane to hit the United States in recorded history. The second tropical cyclone and first named storm of the 1972 Atlantic hurricane season, Agnes developed on June 14 from the interaction of a polar front and an upper trough over the Yucatán Peninsula. Initially forming as a tropical depression, the storm headed slowly eastward and emerged into the western Caribbean Sea on June 15. Once in the Caribbean, the depression began to strengthen, and by the following day, it became Tropical Storm Agnes. Thereafter, Agnes slowly curved northward and passed just west of Cuba on June 17. Early on June 18, the storm intensified enough to be upgraded to Hurricane Agnes. Heading northward, the hurricane eventually made landfall near Panama City, Florida late on June 19. After moving inland, Agnes rapidly weakened and was only a tropical depression when it entered Georgia. The weakening trend halted as the storm crossed over Georgia and into South Carolina. While over eastern North Carolina, Agnes re-strengthened into a tropical storm on June 21, as a result of baroclinic activity. Early the following day, the storm emerged into the Atlantic Ocean before re-curving northwestward and making landfall near New York City as a strong tropical storm. Agnes quickly became an extratropical cyclone on June 23, and tracked to the northwest of Great Britain before becoming absorbed by another cyclone on July 6.
Though it moved slowly across the Yucatán Peninsula, damage in Mexico is unknown. Although the storm bypassed the tip of Cuba, heavy rainfall occurred, killing seven people. In Florida, Agnes caused a significant tornado outbreak, with at least 26 confirmed twisters, two of which were spawned in Georgia. The tornadoes and two initially unconfirmed tornadoes in Florida alone resulted in over $4.5 million (1972 USD) in damage and six fatalities. At least 2,082 structures in Florida suffered either major damage or were destroyed. About 1,355 other dwellings experienced minor losses. Though Agnes made landfall as a hurricane, no hurricane force winds were reported. Along the coast abnormally high tides resulted in extensive damage, especially between Apalachicola and Cedar Key. Light to moderate rainfall was reported in Florida, though no significant flooding occurred. In Georgia, damage was limited to two tornadoes, which caused approximately $275,000 (1972 USD) in losses. Minimal effects were also recorded in Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Tennessee; though one fatality was reported in Delaware. The most significant effects, by far, occurred in Pennsylvania, mostly due to severe flooding. The hurricane severely flooded the Susquehanna River and the Lackawanna River causing a lot of damage to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre metropolitan area. In both Pennsylvania and New Jersey combined, about 43,594 structures were either destroyed or significantly damaged. In Canada, a mobile home was toppled, killing two people. Overall, Agnes caused 128 fatalities and nearly $3 billion (1972 USD) in damage, though more recently, it is estimated that there were $2.1 billion (1972 USD) in losses associated with the storm. Due to the significant effects, the name Agnes was retired in the spring of 1973.
