Highway 191 from Rock Springs, Wy to Pine Forest RV Park at Flaming Gorge Recreation Area
Flaming Gorge Recreation Area..... home of the huge Brown Trout and cool mountain breezes, and a super great RV Park. To get there head south from Rock Springs, Wy. via uncrowded Highway 191 traveling across high mountain plateaus and then across across the thin-arch concrete dam on the Green River to peaceful camping at the beautiful Forest Pines RV Park , which has spacious sites and sparkling facilities, and so attractive that 14 sites are reserved from April through October. We stayed in site 13, close to a Forest Service Trail that runs for 1.2 miles taking you to a spectacular overlook of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. No safety rails, no warning signs ... so hold tight to the kiddies! You will never find a place as quiet and peaceful ... at least in mid-June. If you continue south to Vernal the scenery is also impressive and well worth the drive.

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is located in the states of Wyoming and Utah. For thousands of years the Green River carved its course through the colorful rock formations of the area to form the deep canyons that now serve as a geographic marvel to all visitors. With the construction of the Flaming Gorge Dam in the early 1960’s, a recreational setting was established which has become one of the most visited sites in the continental United States. Visitors and residents alike are spellbound by the beauty of the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, with its 91 mile long lake, the Green River and its deep canyons.

Rock Springs, Wyoming
Rock Springs is a city in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 23,036 at the 2010 census. Rock Springs is the principal city of the Rock Springs micropolitan statistical area, which has a population of 37,975. Rock Springs is known as the Home of 56 Nationalities because of the influx of immigrants from all over the world who came to work in the coal mines that supplied the fuel to power the steam engines of the Union Pacific Railroad. The city's rich cultural heritage is celebrated each summer on International Day, a festival where the foods, costumes, and traditions of residents' ancestors are recreated and enjoyed at Bunning Park in downtown Rock Springs.
Rock Springs is the site of Western Wyoming Community College and Wyoming's Big Show, a yearly event with a carnival and concerts which is held at the Sweetwater County Events Complex.
