Video Promo for Catfish Moon at Flat Rock Playhouse
Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre of North Carolina, will continue its 2015 season with the heartwarmingly nostalgic, Catfish Moon, which will run from October 29th through November 15th at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown.
Skipping school, skinny dipping, kissing your first girl and, of course, fishing off of the pier are all rites of passage for childhood best friends Curley, Gordon and Frog. But “life” happens and time has driven a wedge between these now middle-aged men who have come together for one last overnight fishing trip to patch old wounds brought about by anger, jealousy and betrayal. Despite these circumstances, Catfish Moon is a bodacious, southern fried bro-mance of a comedy that is sure to delight.
Penned by Rock Hill, South Carolina native Laddy Sartin, Catfish Moon is a popular play in the Carolinas due to its earnest portrayal of southern characters. Originally commissioned by Charlotte Repertory Theatre in 1996, and performed at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage in 1997, Catfish Moon hilariously and thoughtfully explores themes of adolescence, ambition and midlife crises.
The Flat Rock Playhouse production of Catfish Moon stars Michael MacCauley, Mark Rowe and Scott Treadway as Curley, Gordon and Frog, the three childhood best friends reconnecting after going down very different paths in life. Also featured in the role of Curley’s sister and Frog’s ex-wife Betty is Debra Capps.
Catfish Moon will be helmed by longtime Vagabond Dane Whitlock in his Flat Rock Playhouse directorial debut. Joining Whitlock on the production team are Dennis C. Maulden, CJ Barnwell, Ashli Arnold, Kurt Conway and Paul Feraldi as the Scenic, Lighting, Costume, Sound and Properties designers respectively. Connie Silver will serve as Stage Manager.

EXPLORING ABANDONED CAVE!! (HAUNTED)
WE SNUCK INTO AN ABANDONED CAVE! WHAT WE FOUND WAS SCARY! HAUNTED!!
Today Stephen Sharer and Carter Sharer went on an adventure to North Carolina to go for a hike. The final destination for this hike was to find a huge waterfall slip and slide. On the way Carter noticed this huge rock alongside the trail. So Stephen and Carter went to explore. As they were walking around this rock they found an entrance that looked haunted but it lead to an underground cave. It was dark so you couldn’t see the end of this underground tunnel. Carter turned his flashlight on to get a better look. Then he started to climb down this abandoned tunnel that lead to a cave. He walked deeper and deeper into the tunnel until he reached the entrance of the cave. The cave opened up and was big enough to stand in. Stephen then climbed down the tunnel and knew it was haunted from the looks of it. The cave traveled two ways so Carter and Stephen went to explore where it went. The path began to get smaller and smaller and more haunted. They walked down the path to the end of Cave. Once they got to the end they walked back and tried another tunnel to explore. This path was a dead end too so they turned back. They tried to go back and find the tunnel to exit the cave but wasn’t sure which one it was. Stephen and Carter got lost trying to get out of the cave, they were now stuck in an abandoned cave. Carter tried to clime out through an opening but got stuck. Then Stephen screamed because he saw something move in the cave. It was super scary because they could not see what it was. Stephen and Carter both ran as fast as they could out of the abandoned cave to safety. It was super scary and Carter and Stephen were glad they gout out of the cave safely. Then Stephen and Carter found an awesome back yard style waterslide slip n slide! It was awesome! Comment #Haunted if you think the abandoned cave was haunted!!
