Hiking to Royal Arch at the Flatirons in Boulder, Colorado - A Winter Wonderland!
Last weekend I hiked to #RoyalArch in the #Flatirons. It dumped snow the day before, but I didn't want to drive or spend the money skiing so I went for a hike. It was more beautiful than I expected and the weather was perfect!
I wish I would have brought Zeppelin, but I think she would have been too cold! It was nice to just have some #solitude, too.
The Flatirons in the snow are very hard to describe. from a distance, it's like looking at a black and white movie in real life. Up close, just a total #WinterWonderland.
I slipped once but didn't really get hurt. Microspikes for your boots are often recommended for hiking the Flatirons in the snow.
I want to get out into the Indian Peaks Wilderness area soon. I have heard that the Fourth of July trail is good, but does anyone have some more recommendations? I'd love to do something from Brainard Lake since I have the house in Ward.

AMAZING Burger in boulder Colorado. (BCFT #5)
Today I went out on a mission to film a lunch video at my favorite place to grab a quick, high quality, farm to table meal in boulder. Blackbelly market, run by top chef season 5 winner Hosea Rosenberg, this gem for lunch is relatively unknown even among the main restaurant's patrons.
One the menu are a veriety of tantalizing breakfast and lunch options, of which my personal favorite, is the closest thing you can get to their dinner burger (My absolute favorite burger in the entire world, but not really the kind of environment I'm comfortable filming at the moment.)
Their Carter county burger, with local bacon, fresh ground beef, and standard fixings, is to die for, and an absolute bomb of flavor every time I've had it. If you've got other hankerings, check out their website down below, they've got a great breakfast and lunch menu, before they close up and prepare to open the main restaurant.
Definitely hit this place up if you're in the area and looking for amazing food.

With its eclectic mix of cafes and restaurants, large farmers market, and several top-tier restaurants, Boulder could easily be dubbed a foodie’s paradise. In 2010, Bon Appetit Magazine even named Boulder as the Foodiest Town in America.
One of the best views along the Front Range is at Flagstaff House Restaurant. Three generations of the Monette Family work in the restaurant started by Don Monette. His son, Scott, is general manager and son, Mark, is chef. Some of Don’s grandchildren also work in the restaurant. It is an awarding winning restaurant including being named a “Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Restaurant 2012.” Their wine collection is one of the best in the world. Flagstaff House was the first restaurant in Colorado to put its wine list on an iPad. There are 3500 selections and 18,000 bottles in their wine list. It is one of two restaurants in Colorado and one of 75 in the world to win the Wine Spectator Grand Award. Flagstaff House has won that award every year since 1983. Frasca Food and Wine was started by Master Sommelier Bobbie Stuckey and James Beard Foundation Award Winning Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson. Both were part of the team at the French Laundry in Napa Valley when it was named the number one restaurant in the world. The pair opened Frasca in 2004 with the goal to be the best neighborhood restaurant. Since 2004, Frasca has been getting international rave reviews and accolades. Went to Wayne's Smoke shack today for a go at the best bbq in boulder county, and one of the contenders for best bbq in the state of colorado.
They did not fail to live up to the hype, the meat was moist, juicy, and delectably smokey from the first bite to the last. If you're in the area, hit them up in the superior market place right next to the boulder denver turnpike and be sure to get there early so you don't miss out on anything!

Strange Lights Above Boulder CO Dec 22, 2018
We were leaving the Flatirons Crossint Mall near Boulder CO and we saw these two red lights hovering in the sky. They were always the same distance apart but seemed to slowly rotate around each other until they faded away. Whole thing lasted about 5 minutes from when we saw them. UFO? Synchronized Drones? Lanterns? You decide...

Discover our neighborhood: Boulder, Colorado
Boulder, CO has been our hometown for more than 2 years, but now it's our time to leave for new adventures (you will know more pretty soon). For this occasion, we decided to make a short video showing the main places to visit if you come to Boulder.
Boulder is located in NorthWest of Denver in Colorado, at an altitude of 5,328 ft (1,624m). This city is not famous in the United States, but actually it's very cool to live there:
• First, the climate is just right, with a great amount of snow in winter, very beautiful days in summer, cool thunderstorms in spring, and magnificent colors in the countryside in fall (which is our favorite season)
• Secondly, there are plenty of landscapes: forests, mountains, creeks, lakes, unusual rock formations, etc. Boulder is only 30min from Denver, an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park, and close to a lot of other places that you can see in our video about Colorado landscapes (here is the link: Plus, it's only a few hours from Utah which allows a lot of weekend opportunities!
• Finally, people here are very nice, relaxed. There are a lot of restaurants, shops, and places to chill. Plus a lot of sport activities such as hiking, bicycling, or climbing. Sport is really a part of the culture.
The main places to visit in Boulder are:
• Chautauqua Park with the view of the Flatirons and the Green Mountain. This is the main landscape in Boulder where people like to hike.
• NCAR or National Center of Atmospheric Research, a little bit above the city level, also popular for hiking.
• Settler's Park with its Red Rocks, at the feet of the Mount Sanitas, also popular for hiking.
• Colorado University campus with its beautiful architecture.
• Flagstaff Road with its viewpoints: Boulder Amphitheater, Realization Point, Lost Gultchman Overlook, Gross Reservoir... This road goes up in the nearest mountains and gives you views of both the city and the mountains.
• Boulder Creek, flowing across the city from West to East. Very popular for bicycling.
• Pearl Street Mall and 29th Street Mall, the main places for shopping and dining in Boulder.
• Boulder Falls, on the way to the town of Nederland.
