Marlin Fishing Caught & Released Due to Daily Limit Cabo San Lucas - San Jose del Cabo
Đức-Hoàng Frank Nguyễn & Minh Tran caught a Marlin in our 1st hour of Deep Sea Fishing Trip in San Jose Del Cabo on Sunday, April 2, 2017. This clip is about the 2nd Marlin caught and we had to release it due to our Boat Daily Limit. The first Marlin was over 100 lbs and over 6 ft long. We almost caught another 100+ lbs Wahoo but it got away.
We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in San Jose del Cabo. This was my (Minh's) second Marlin Fishing trip and I really like this SJD crew much better than the first crew from Cabo San Lucas. Not only Captain Fernando and his deckhand Alfonso were quite helpful during our 6 hours fishing trip, they put in their best efforts to make sure we had a fun and productive trip with them. Even after our first Marlin, Captain Fernando continued to search for other big fish in this part of Pacific Ocean. We almost caught a 100+ lbs Wahoo. We attempted to catch the Wahoo again but ended up catching a second Marlin...in the amazing first hour. After realizing that our second catch was a Marlin, Captain Fernando and deckhand Alfonso showed us the Catch & Release technique wherein I was able to capture my buddy Frank's reeling in the second Marlin on this video...and it turned out to be a memorable Frank's first Deep Sea Fishing experience in Los Cabos.
Our Deep Sea Fishing trip with Captain Fernando was simply an amazing deep sea experience for anyone...anytime...bar none...as compared to our first trip, and other fishing trips. Captain Fernando did not take us back to the Marina after our catch of the first Marlin. During the trip, Captain Fernando looked out for best fishing spots on his radar and from his top deck while Deckhand Alfonso worked in tandem with the captain to check and replaced baits to lure different types of fish.
At the dock, Captain Fernando filleted the fish and Alfonso vacuum packed the filets for us in ziplock bags without any additional charge as compared to the folks in Cabo San Lucas Marina - a saving of almost $200 for all the extra fees in Cabo San Lucas. Furthermore, Captain Fernando did not take any of the fish filet as compared to the CSL captain who took about a 1/3 of our catch after charging us a much higher fee ($600 vs $400). We took the filets back to the hotel and they froze them for us without any charges. By providing this extra service post docking, Captain Fernando saved us at least $200 as compared to having to pay $30 for the CSL folks for filleting our catch and $2/pound for vacuum-packed the filets.
We strongly recommend folks to explore the other side of Los Cabos because there are 2 sides: Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. There is not much night life in SJD (San Jose del Cabo) but the food is (better in my opinion) for about half of the price as compared to CSL (Cabo San Lucas).
This was exactly what we did, we explored DISTRICTO del ARTE - an Art District in SJD that we recommend you to visit. We took half a day discovering art district in SJD and were amazed of the quality of art galleries there. If you have to choose one gallery to visit, then we recommend Frank Arnold Gallery His wife Carmen showed us around their gallery and private residence. Frank took time to show us his finished and unfinished art works. My friend Frank even bought a piece of statute from this FrankArnold.
Within a half-miles radius of SJD Art District, there are crazily amazing restaurants we experienced: (1) Mariscos El Toro Güero - you have to try the famous ALMEJA Chocolata Chocolate Clams dishes when you visit Los Cabo. During our 5 days stay here, we made 3 visits to this restaurant just for Almeja and octopus dishes; (2) Barrio de Tango Restaurante Argentino - The steak and Sangria here is out of this world great; (3) Los Claros - not quite great as Toro but a great place to snack on Almeja (3 clams for 52 peso - unheard of price for fresh Almeja); ....and away from the civilization - down a pothole-riddled road, and up a steep dirt lane there is (4) Flora Farms - an awesome oasis of farm-to-table place you must visit. After spending a crazy night bar hopping in CSL, we spent a way in the SJD art district and ended with a trip to Flora Farms. Strolling the field, listened to soft live music in the garden, sipping wine in an Oasis of Monet-like garden while birds and bees added to this natural decorum.
Overall, this was a great get-away weekend and a very successful fishing trip. We will definitely bring our families to San Jose del Cabo next time. Needless to say, SJD is etched as one of our Top-10 Boys-Trips.
Did I mention that after filleting all Marlin meat, Captain Fernando took out soy sauce and wasabi, and we had the freshest Marlin sushi right there at the SJD Marina (by Hotel El Ganzo). Marlin sushi fresh off the ocean...you can't beat that!

If You Can Dream - Cabo Beach Weddings Will Make It Happen
Tara and Justin Wedding at Sunset da Mona Lisa, Los Cabos Mexico
On an uncharacteristically windy Saturday in November, Tara and Justin said I do in an extravagant destination wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico, and we went along for the ride! Tara chose Cabo’s wedding planner, Tammy Wolff of Cabo Wedding Services, to help her with the details, and Tammy’s inside knowledge of all things wedding lead her straight to Sunset MonaLisa restaurant, an Italian fusion extravaganza nestled high on the cliffs overlooking Misiones Beach. With panoramic views to the famous Cabo San Lucas arch and Land’s End, as well as 5 star dining and exquisite service, it was love at first sight for Tara and Justin, who quickly signed on the dotted line. After months of careful planning our calendars announced November, and it was go time!
Conscious of the time and money their loved ones had invested in traveling to Cabo, Tara and Justin wanted to kick things off with a relaxed, casual and oh so Cabo welcome event aboard Cabo Wave, a luxury dinner/sunset cruise that departs from the picture perfect Cabo San Lucas marina. Cervezas, Mai Tais, Margaritas and Piña Coladas, as well as a scrumptious buffet of traditional Mexican dishes, this was the perfect introduction to Cabo for newcomers and a very big welcome back for seasoned travelers. Tara and Justin took advantage of the 2 hour long cruise and gorgeous Cabo sunset to mingle with their guests, before getting an early night in preparation for the big day.
Back at the beautiful Hyatt Ziva in San Jose del Cabo, Tara and Justin’s home base for the weekend, it was a revolving door or Cabo’s finest wedding service providers. In charge of making sure Tara looked her radiant best was Blanc Bridal Salon, who created a dramatic smokey eye and relaxed down do to complement Tara’s off the shoulder, ivory gown and dreamy, Cathedral length veil. Tara and Justin’s sweet first look took place onsite at Sunset MonaLisa, with Land’s End framing our shots, and award winning photographer Sara Richardson joined us to capture the moment.
Tammy Wolff’s weddings are famous for their careful attention to design and detail, and she didn’t disappoint when it came to dressing up this wedding location. Along with The Cabo Wedding Co and Cabo Flowers and Cakes, Tammy created a clean and classic reception space, utilizing low, pale pink and cream centerpieces in gold bases and an abundance of market lights to create her trademark romantic effect. When it came time to let their hair down, Tara and Justin had decided to go big or go home, and hired not only Cabo’s premier party starters Deja Vu band, but also DJ Alex to keep their guests on the dance floor. As if their list of top notch entertainers wasn’t enough, Tara and Justin lit up the Cabo skyline in a spectacular display of fireworks to seal the deal.
Congratulations Tara and Justin and a big thank you to Cabo Wedding Services for your trust in Cinematic Touch. It’s always a pleasure!

Loreto is located on the east coast of the Baja California Peninsula, at 26º00'46 N 111º20'36 W. It is bordered on the east by the Gulf of California, on the west by the Transpeninsular Highway, and on the south by the Arroyo Loreto.
Loreto enjoy scheduling a pleasant tour along the gentle, calm waves of the Sea of Cortez to reach more secluded places such as the gorgeous beaches of Isla Del Carmen, the stunning cliffs and perfect diving conditions of Isla Danzante, or Isla Catalina, an ideal excursion for the ecologically-minded or those who simply enjoy admiring the indigenous flora and fauna. Loreto also offers sport fishing, and species such as the mahi mahi, wahoo and tuna abound in local waters. If you're looking for a more exclusive experience in Loreto, you can play golf to your heart's content on its renowned golf courses; or, if your preference is for adrenaline-fuelled activities such as diving, surfing, mountain biking or rappelling, there's plenty on offer. Those on a winter getaway won’t want to miss the chance to take a whale watching tour; grey whales can be sighted just 90 minutes off the coast of Loreto.
Loreto is rich in culture, as you'll see when you witness its colorful traditions and festivities. The most important celebration in this picturesque city, the Feast of Our Lady of Loreto, is held on September 8th in honor of its beloved patron saint. On that day, the effigy of Our Lady of Loreto is accompanied by pilgrims and novenas throughout the city, combining worship with a joyful, explosive celebration. Sports are an integral part of the festivities, and fishing tournaments and other activities are held throughout the region. Music, exhibitions, traditional dance and callejoneadas – in which groups of revelers stream through the streets to the rhythm of the music – are part of another important regional celebration, the Jesuit Missions Festival. This festival is celebrated a few days before the regional fair of Loreto – the festival celebrating the founding of Loreto – in October. Both cultural festivals highlight Loreto’s many traditions and vibrant street life.
