Spectacular SPANISH FOOD + Craft Brewery Tours | Downtown Orlando, Florida
My first trip of 2019 was a road trip with my dad to Orlando in partnership with Greyhound. We spent two incredible days exploring the city’s non-touristy side, including where to go to get a taste of Orlando’s best food and beer. Come join us as we experience more of The City Beautiful!
Follow my dad on Instagram:
Our afternoon started at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, where you can rent paddleboats and see sites like a pagoda and the Walt Disney Amphitheater along its shores. For $15, we rented a paddleboat and took a 30-minute ride around the lake. I highly recommend it!

From there, we took a pleasant, 20-minute walk to Church Street, which is closed off on Fridays and Saturdays and becomes a weekend hotspot. The downtown area was safe, clean, and more laid-back than Miami. Along the street is an old, preserved railway station that’s surrounded by retailers and condos.
Also along Church Street was our next destination: Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant that opened in 1997. We started with two different types of a Spanish craft beer called 1906: the Bach for me and the Vienna for my dad. It was like a cross between an amber and a stout and was fantastic.
We followed that with four types of ceviche: Gambas (shrimp), Pulpo (octopus), Atun (tuna), and Casa (shrimp, scallops, squid, and market fish). The Pulpo was super fresh and contained a delicious mix of capers and pickled onions, and the Gambas contained jalapeños, which were pretty hot, but also really amazing. The Casa was a little tangy with a nice crunch and contained a white fish and lots of vegetables. The Atun was also really nice and was full of flavor.
Next, we had the Tabla Mixta, which consisted of a spread containing serrano ham, chorizo, lomo, tetilla, blue cheese, honeycomb, Cabrales, mustard, and more with some bread. The tetilla was very buttery and the blue cheese with the honeycomb was outstanding!
Next was the Rabo de Toro, or braised oxtail with red wine and saffron rice. The meat was so tender, buttery, and tasty, and fell right off the bone. We followed that with a Verdejo wine from Spain that was light and similar to Albariño.
Up next, we had the Mariscos paella, which is a rice dish from the Alicante and Valencia regions of Spain that contains lobster, shrimp, scallops, squid, mussels, and chorizo. It contained a wet rice and I loved the flavors and the big chunks of calamari, and there was a nice amount of spice as well.
We finished our meal with flan, a custardy, gelatinous dessert that’s topped with caramel. It was unreal, almost like a crème brûlée without the caramelized sugar on top.
Our next stop was Orlando Brewing, the city’s pioneer in craft beer. They are one of only six organic breweries in the U.S., and this place is committed to using only the highest-quality ingredients. They have 35 beers on tap and more in the cooler. We tried their creamy vanilla English Pale Ale; grainy Pumpkin Stout; a creamy Jelly Roll; a very strong American Strong Ale; a citrusy Grapefruit Pale Ale; a creamy, caramel-flavored O-Town Brown Ale; a chocolatey, toasty Papa Midnight Imperial Stout with coffee flavor; a more basic stout; the Grand O Hoppy Double IPA; and an IP Lager that was like a lager-style IPA before taking a tour of the facility, which contains four 30-barrel vessels. I love seeing how breweries make their beer!
Next, we headed over to Broken Cauldron Brewery & Taproom, which contains two breweries under the same roof: Broken Strings and Black Cauldron. We tried their light Country Road Lager; Red Mosquito Amber IPA, which was like a marriage of an amber and an IPA; a fantastic Liquid Vinyl Black IPA with coffee and some hops; B-Sides Mango-Ginger Sour, which is like a very sour fruit drink; an English barley wine; and the nutty and vanilla-infused Demon of the Fall Hazelnut.
I hope you guys loved this video of our succulent Spanish lunch and brewery tours! If you did, please give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment below. Also, please subscribe to my channel!

EXQUISITE Fine Dining at 310 Lakeside + CRAFT BEER Tour | Downtown Orlando, Florida
In January of 2019, my dad and I took a trip up to Orlando, Florida, in partnership with Greyhound. Instead of visiting the theme parks that make the city famous, we set out to explore the non-touristy side of the city and find out what else Orlando has to offer. Come along with us as we visit a fine dining establishment and go on a craft beer tour in the downtown area!
Follow my dad on Instagram:
We started at 310 Lakeside, an upscale New American restaurant located in the Capital Plaza Highlands building on the shores of Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. This restaurant serves lots of seafood and steak dishes.
My Film Making Kit ►
We started off with some red wine and then ordered some crab cakes and baked brie as appetizers, followed by salmon for my dad, crispy duck for me, and a dessert.
The crab cakes were served with an aioli beneath them and the brie came with a balsamic glaze, Tuscan bread, roasted garlic, bacon jam, and candied apple. I loved the combination of the melty brie cheese with the bacon jam and balsamic glaze! It was a beautiful contrast of sweet, sour, and so many other delicious flavors. The crab cakes were full of crab meat and the aioli was nice and light and didn’t overpower the flavor of the crab.
Next, I dug into my crispy duck while my dad ate his salmon, which came with an amazing-looking glaze. My duck had a fantastic plum sauce on it and it was even better than the duck I had when I was in China! It was juicy, crispy, perfectly cooked, and incredibly meaty, and the duck sauce was divine! Both dishes came with mashed potatoes, which were also great. The duck was so amazing that I barely touched my green beans!
Next, it was time for the Oreo Delight, which is a decadent dessert that consists of a brownie topped with crushed Oreos, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate and caramel sauces. It was a rich mix of hot from the warm brownie, cold from the ice cream, and crunchiness from the crushed Oreos. It kept calling me back for more!
After that amazing meal, we headed off to Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company just north of downtown, for a tour and a tasting! I met back up with Marcus, who I’d met previously at a Miami-area brewery, who took me and my dad on a tour of the facility, which boasts a 15-barrel system, 4 fermenters, and one bright tank.
Our first beer was the Toboggan Blonde Ale, which was smooth and pleasant, like something you’d drink on the beach.
Next was the Bungalow Belgian Witbier, which I loved, and we followed that with the Guavacation Sour Berliner Weisse, which was very light and had a nice guava flavor, which is big is south Florida.
The next beer is called the Ripple Effect, which I also loved! Next was the Saison Farmhouse Ale, which is a French beer from the Middle Ages. It was awesome! We followed that with the Tupac Shaporter, which is a milk porter that tastes very roasty with a light amount of espresso. It almost tasted like a s’more or a chupito and was my favorite of all of the beers we tried.
Next was the Nitro Shaporter, which had more of a coffee taste to it. After that was the American IPA, and we wrapped up our tasting with the Ball Drop IPA, which was my dad’s favorite.
I hope you enjoyed our visit to 310 Lakeside and our craft beer tour in downtown Orlando! If you did, please give this video a thumbs up. Leave me a comment below and please also subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out on any of my upcoming food and travel content!

Top 10 Things to Do in Downtown Orlando, Florida
In January of 2019, I partnered up with Greyhound for a road trip to Orlando with my dad. Along the way, Greyhound provided a smooth and safe ride, and fast and free WiFi, which allowed me to get some work done on the road!
Travel with Greyhound;
While Orlando is home to some of the best theme parks on the planet, my dad and I set out to experience hidden gems that most people skip. These are the top 10 things to see and do in downtown Orlando outside of the theme parks!
My Film Making Kit ►
First up is Chela Tequila and Tacos, one of the city’s best Mexican restaurants. Have an El Sully beer or one of their 50 varieties of tequila and mezcal with their Drunken Fish taco, Crispy Pork Belly taco, and ground beef taco. Don’t miss out on the truffle mushroom fundido and creamy cauliflower with garlic aioli! It’s all delicious!
Chela Tequila and Tacos:
Next is Orange County Brewers, a brewhouse that serves lots of different beers with unique flavors. Have a slice of pizza while sampling a flight of their incredible craft beers, including Hops Down Schwarzbier, Bock That Ass Up, Dankster’s Paradise East and West Coast IPAs, and an amazing espresso stout.
Orange County Brewers:
For exquisite fine dining, try 310 Lakeside’s meaty crab cakes and creamy baked brie appetizers, and for your main course, go with the crispy duck or salmon, both of which come with a sublime plum sauce. For dessert, go with the decadent The Oreo Delight. Your taste buds will thank you!
310 Lakeside:
Next is Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company, an independent craft brewery north of downtown. Their commitment to high-quality ingredients is evident in their beers like the Toboggan Blonde Ale, the guava-flavored Guavacation Sour, the roasty Tupac Shaporter, and the incedible Saison Farmhouse Ale. They’re all outstanding!
Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co.:
For a quintessential Florida experience, you have to take an airboat ride on Lake Toho with Wild Willy’s Airboat Tours. There, you’ll get to see wildlife like alligators, turtles, snakes, frogs, deer, otters, and a lot more up close and personal. It’s a fun way to learn about the Florida Everglades!
Wild Willy’s Airboat Tours:
Next up is The Catfish Place in St. Cloud, which serves Southern staples like fried catfish, snapper, hush puppies, and coleslaw, as well as traditional Floridian cuisine like fried alligator tail, fried turtle, and fried frog legs. Try them with the Tiger Sauce, tartar sauce, melted butter, and local honey served on the side. They are unbelievably good!
The Catfish Place:
Don’t miss out on taking a paddleboat ride on Lake Eola in downtown Orlando! As you paddle, you’ll see a stunning Chinese pagoda, skyscrapers, the Walt Disney Amphitheatre, and more, and you may be able to spot native animals like turtles, swans, and other birds. It’s also a nice workout!
Lake Eola Park:
If you’re in the mood for authentic Spanish food, visit Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant. Enjoy a Spanish craft beer with their flavorful shrimp, octopus, tuna, and Casa ceviches; tender braised oxtail; and succulent Mariscos paella. Don’t forget the flan for dessert!
Ceviche:
Next up is Orlando Brewing, which is one of only six organic breweries in the U.S. The quality of their ingredients comes through in their English Pale Ale, Grapefruit Pale Ale, and Papa Midnight Imperial Stout. Without question, one of Orlando’s best.
Orlando Brewing:
Last but not least is Broken Cauldron Brewery and Taproom, which consists of two different breweries under the same roof: Broken Strings Brewery and Black Cauldron Brewery. I highly recommend the light Country Road Lager; Liquid Vinyl Black IPA; Red Mosquito Amber IPA; and Demon of the Fall. If you love great beer, you’ll be in heaven here!
