The first thing is impossible not to notice on the approach to the Museum is a giant a real b-12, which is visible from afar. It is so huge that many are unable to restrain the cry of admiration of the neighboring machines in the Museum in the background at first seem imperceptible.

Near the entrance is the first Museum exhibit – the TU-4. The plane is in excellent condition. He is notable for the fact that it was created for the air force as an analogue of the first American aircraft carrier of the atomic bomb.
The Tu-4 at Monino
Next the plane is completely domestic development, from the idea to the last screw – this is the famous jet Tu-16. At its base a little later constructed passenger Tupolev Tu-104. Nearby is another legend VVS – Weaving. The official name of this aircraft T-4, it is interesting that in the transition to supersonic flight window of the cockpit was covered, and the crew had to drive blind – instrument. Weaving was manufactured from titanium alloy, the flight speed was 1.7 Mach (~1836 km/h).

In one of the hangars collected the legendary machines of small aircraft. The aircraft Beriev be-32 is famous for being the only civil courts can perform the chandelle, for what it called civilian fighter. Standing next to M-15 – frisky maize from Poland, named as the representative of the evil forces, BELPHEGOR. Another alien during the First world war – the French Voisin, who happened to star in the film Elusive Avengers and some other.

It is interesting to see through the windshield of the stratosphere balloon USSR-1. Those who read or watched the movie about a pilot Garnaev, very curious to see the reality in his famous Turbolet.
In addition to the elders of the air force, the Museum also has a fairly new space technology. The smile is a tiny airplane jet La-15. This baby weighs 2.5 tons and is comfortably fixed under the keel of the giant parent Tu-195, it can restart only when you're in the air. The aircraft BOR-5, returning to Earth from outer space, makes a particularly strong impression. The lining is noticeable how much he burned, entering at high speed in the layers of earth's atmosphere. This exhibit was donated to the Museum a few years ago. Between the hangars can be considered helicopters, from the smallest, to giant Mi-26.

Leonid Sobinov , from Channel Kultura, Part 1
Leonid Sobinov - (1872-1934)
Do not worry about me, fame and successes will never make me swaggering, I'm powerful because of this. I always see the other side of medal and if something is closed my soul, I never forget anything, These are the words which Leonid Sobinov wrote at the time when he already ascent to Olympus of the opera in the beginning of 20th century. He was a star of the Empire's theatres -Bolshoi and Marinsky. He was greatly admired at all the best theatres of the world. Even in very dangerous and hard times, which were evoked because of war and revolution, Sobinov never had doubts that he was needed for his country, and he always declined the invitations from the foreign impresarios to leave motherland forever.
Moscow 1891.
Traveling nearly every day through University roads, on the road I unwittingly was stopping near the little two-floor mansion, where there was a philharmonic school. I was wondering to enter there and ask them to teach me sing. At that time Lonia(short form of Leonid) was 19. He was a student of Faculty of Law at Moscow University and was preparing for serous lawyer career. He was studding Roman law, political economics, and other sciences. And also, there was a choir at the University, where Sobinov was elected as a first tenor.
For the first time, Moscow did not impress him much. There are the letters to his family from 1890: the dust is devilish, every time you hear noise, cry outs, here is a lot of starving. From the right side of Nicolsky Street comes a young man and asks can you give to student something for bread?. I gave him a little.
At that time Sobinov pocket was not so thick, but he was ready to help everyone. It will pass not quite much time and he will become famous artist, and he will always give charity concerts for needy people, unselfishly to help students, war orphan... and it was at anytime, in any political situations.
Alla Anosovskaya(Director of L.Sobinov home-museum , Yaroslavl): He was born in Yaroslavl, in a very modest family, in a family which was very far away from the music and art. And here is his house, very dear for him; Sobinovs ' three generations owned this house. And the city always remained native for him. In 1915 he was declared as an honored citizen of the Yaroslavl.
Leonid Sobinov always produced an impression on his contemporaries' as singer with nobility, well-cared, with refined manners and taste. Although, he was far away from Russian nobility, his roots were half merchant, half peasant. His grandfather Vasilii, shortly after free, ransomed from the landowner and served as a rich merchant Mukamolinu as a trusted person. After Vasilii, his father began to work there. They were traveling with the tugboat on Volga. Their life was quite wealthy to give children to study at the gymnasia. But on this, the family care was ended. His mother, Ekaterina Fiodorovna died when he was 13. From 4th grade he began to work as a tutor. And when he came to Moscow, he already did not expect family help. He went to earn a living in theater Ukrainian bark Zankovetskoi, which was located in the building of today's Moscow Art Theater (Mxat). By the way, there began his career young Fyodor Chaliapin. Lately, when famous singers will meet each other, they will have many things to recall and laugh.
Philharmonic school.
Philharmonic school was leaded by pianist Piotr Shostakovsky. He noticed young tenor at the charity concert at the great hall of the nobility meeting. Piotr invited him to study at school and it was not disappointment. Exactly there, Sobinov met his future wife -- Maria Korjavina. During several years there have been violent changes in his life. At the time he was graduating the university, he already was a student of philharmonic school, singing in the troupe of the Italian opera, and become a father. In 1895 his son, Boris was born, and two years later, son Yuri. The time has come to think seriously about the future head of the family. Young specialist had to have practice. Leonid Kantorovich Sobinov selects the position of the barrister with famous lawyer- Plenyanevalawyer. And here he got two lives: He was invited to sing at the Empire's theatres. He works at court in the morning, and in the evenings he not only captivates the audience, but leads them into raptures. He debuts Bolshoi as a Sinodal in the Rubinstein's opera Demon. The success was overwhelming; romance had to be repeated for an encore.
For some time he manages to combine singing and advocacy. But when once the commercial court chairman turns to him, Well, let's see what a nightingale will sing us today, he finally decides to leave office service. Now young singer does not have any doubts: He needs to continue vocal career.

Leonid Sobinov - Documentary
Leonid Vitalyevich Sobinov (Russian: Леони́д Вита́льевич Со́бинов, June 7 [OS May 26] 1872, Yaroslavl -- October 14, 1934, Riga) was an acclaimed Imperial Russian operatic tenor. His fame continued unabated into the Soviet era, and he was made a People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1923. Sobinov's voice was lyrical in size and tone, and it was employed with discerning taste and excellent musicianship.

Pre-revolutionary Russia in photographs
Kostroma about 1900
Part One
Here I present the first of two albums of original photographs taken of the town of Kostroma.
This historic town forms part of the Golden Ring of Russian towns, and is located at the confluence of the Volga and Kostroma Rivers.
The city was first recorded in the chronicles for the year 1213, but historians believe it could have been founded by Yury Dolgoruky more than half a century earlier, in 1152. Like other towns of the Eastern Rus, Kostroma was sacked by the Mongols in 1238.
The heroic peasant Ivan Susanin became a symbol of the city's resistance to foreign invaders; several monuments to him may be seen in Kostroma. The future Tsar, Mikhail Romanov, also lived at the monastery. It was here that an embassy from Moscow offered him the Russian crown in 1612. As a result, the Romanov Tsars regarded Kostroma as their special protectorate…………….

SUMMARY
=======
The Russian Age of Enlightenment was a period in the 18th century in which the government began to actively encourage the proliferation of arts and sciences, which had a profound impact on Russian culture. During this time, the first Russian university was founded, a library, a theatre, a public museum, as well as relatively independent press. Like other enlightened despots, Catherine the Great played a key role in fostering the arts, sciences, and education.
The national Enlightenment in the Russian Empire differed from its Western European counterpart in that it promoted further modernization of all aspects of Russian life and was concerned with abolishing the institution of serfdom in Russia. The Pugachev Rebellion and French Revolution may have shattered the illusions of rapid political change, but the intellectual climate in Russia was altered irrevocably. Russia's place in the world was debated by Denis Fonvizin, Mikhail Shcherbatov, Andrey Bolotov, Ivan Boltin, and Alexander Radishchev; these discussions precipitated the divide between the radical, western, conservative and Slavophile traditions of Russian thought. Intellectuals often used the term prosveshchenie, promoting piety, erudition, and commitment to the spread of learning.

Russia (Russian: Росси́я, tr. Rossiya, IPA: [rɐˈsʲijə]), officially the Russian Federation (Russian: Росси́йская Федера́ция, tr. Rossiyskaya Federatsiya, IPA: [rɐˈsʲijskəjə fʲɪdʲɪˈratsɨjə]), is a country in Eurasia. At 17,125,200 square kilometres (6,612,100 sq mi), Russia is the largest country in the world by area, covering more than one-eighth of the Earth's inhabited land area, and the ninth most populous, with about 144.5 million people as of 2018, excluding Crimea. About 77% of the population live in the western, European part of the country. Russia's capital, Moscow, is the largest metropolitan area in Europe proper and one of the largest cities in the world; other major cities include Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Extending across the entirety of Northern Asia and much of Eastern Europe, Russia spans eleven time zones and incorporates a wide range of environments and landforms. From northwest to southeast, Russia shares land borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (both with Kaliningrad Oblast), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and North Korea. It shares maritime borders with Japan by the Sea of Okhotsk and the U.S. state of Alaska across the Bering Strait. However, Russia recognises two more countries that border it, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, both of which are internationally recognized as parts of Georgia.
The East Slavs emerged as a recognizable group in Europe between the 3rd and 8th centuries AD. Founded and ruled by a Varangian warrior elite and their descendants, the medieval state of Rus arose in the 9th century. In 988 it adopted Orthodox Christianity from the Byzantine Empire, beginning the synthesis of Byzantine and Slavic cultures that defined Russian culture for the next millennium. Rus' ultimately disintegrated into a number of smaller states; most of the Rus' lands were overrun by the Mongol invasion and became tributaries of the nomadic Golden Horde in the 13th century. The Grand Duchy of Moscow gradually reunified the surrounding Russian principalities, achieved independence from the Golden Horde. By the 18th century, the nation had greatly expanded through conquest, annexation, and exploration to become the Russian Empire, which was the third largest empire in history, stretching from Poland on the west to Alaska on th ...

SUMMARY

Peter the Great (Russian: Пётр Вели́кий, tr. Pyotr Velikiy, IPA: [ˈpʲɵtr vʲɪˈlʲikʲɪj]), Peter I (Russian: Пётр I, tr. Pyotr I, IPA: [ˈpʲɵtr ˈpʲɛrvɨj]) or Peter Alexeyevich (Russian: Пётр Алексе́евич, IPA: [ˈpʲɵtr ɐlʲɪˈksʲejɪvʲɪtɕ]; 9 June [O.S. 30 May] 1672 – 8 February [O.S. 28 January] 1725) ruled the Tsardom of Russia and later the Russian Empire from 7 May [O.S. 27 April] 1682 until his death in 1725, jointly ruling before 1696 with his elder half-brother, Ivan V. Through a number of successful wars, he expanded the Tsardom into a much larger empire that became a major European power and also laid the groundwork for the Russian navy after capturing ports at Azov and the Baltic Sea. He led a cultural revolution that replaced some of the traditionalist and medieval social and political systems with ones that were modern, scientific, Westernised and based on the Enlightenment. Peter's reforms made a lasting impact on Russia, and many institutions of Russian government trace their origins to his reign. He is also known for founding and developing the city of Saint Petersburg, which remained the capital of Russia until 1917.
