Owl Cafe in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan // Animal Cafe with SoloTravelBlog
► Check out the next Animal Video:
Here's an owl cafe in Akihabara, Japan. The concept? Pay a little money to spend time with owls. Now aside from some kawaii owls, this place had some pretty buckwild decor poppin' off. There was even booze available in this place. In other words, that was a pretty nice Japanese cafe right there.
Cafe Name: The Forest of Owls
Address: 4 Chome-5-8 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tōkyō-to 101-0021 5th floor
Hours: 2pm-11pm (Wednesdays 5pm-11pm)

CAMERA & AUDIO EQUIPMENT I USE:
Camera: Sony RX100 M3 ►
Voiceover Mic: Samson Go Mic ►
In-Field Mic: Zoom H1 ►
Tripod: Manfrotto Pixi ►
EXPLANATION: I try to keep my equipment as simple as possible. 90% of the time, all I use to film is my Sony RX100 M3, and all I use for audio is my Samson Go Mic (which I use to record voiceovers after filming). Occasionally I use the Zoom H1 for audio if I want to record audio in-field. As for the Pixi tripod, I sometimes use it while filming food, but most of the time I use it to mount my Samson Go Mic on a desk for voiceovers (in conjunction with the other accessories, listed below).
MODULAR COMPONENTS I USE:
Smatree SmaPole S3 (hollow pole only) ►
Joby Action Arm (arm only) ►
Joby Hand Grip (hand grip only) ►
Joby Hub Adapter ►
EXPLANATION: Because I'm often traveling, I prefer to have the lightest, smallest, most versatile components available. Therefore, I use bits and pieces from the above gear sets, and these bits and pieces can be connected together in a huge variety of ways. For example, they can be made into a long selfie stick, they can be mounted to my tripod to make it extra-tall, and they can be used with my tripod and Go Mic to position the microphone directly in front of my face while I'm recording voiceovers at a desk.
MICROPHONE ACCESSORIES I USE:
Foam Mic Cover ►
Pop Filter ►
EXPLANATION: To improve sound quality for voiceovers, I place a mic cover on the Samson Go Mic, then use an elastic band to hang the pop filter on top. This is not the best audio protection available, but it is the most minimalistic and space-efficient gear for traveling. The mic cover can also be used on the rare occasion that I record audio with the Zoom H1.
GEAR I USE FOR CHARGING ON-THE-GO:
Anker Mini PowerBank ►
Silicone Cables ►
Adapter for Micro to Mini ►
Adapter for Micro to Lightning ►
EXPLANATION: Anker's lipstick-sized powerbanks are small yet powerful. I travel with two, so that if one has a low charge, I can charge it in my hotel while I'm out and about with the other powerbank. Using the powerbank in conjunction with the short, durable silicone cables and micro/mini/lightning adapters means I can charge just about any device while on-the-go.

TOKYO TOP 5 Animal Cafe
If you are heading down to Tokyo Top 5 animal cafe here in Tokyo including cat cafe, owl cafe, Rabbit Cafe, hedgehog cafe and Otter Cafe. A Must Visit Experience here in Tokyo - The cutest animal cafe in japan
** PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW ON MY OPINION ON OWL CAFÉ **
This episode is a little fun guide on the top animal café in Tokyo and whilst there are more to explore in Tokyo, I have to say my best and most favourite café is definitely the Hedgehog Café (You are able to purchase them and take them home – which I found more like a pet store instead of an entertainment industry) – I love animals and if you only have time to see one Animal Café, I’d love to recommend you Harry’s Zoo Café as it has all the animals pretty much featured on all the clips here. This is a great things to do in tokyo with family .

OPINION ON OWL CAFÉ – PLEASE READ
I love animals and have a dog myself, while this Episode is all about my fun adventures exploring Tokyo, I did cut out most of the clips in the Owl’s Forest where I was actually talking about the chains these owl had on them as I had a lot of mix feelings coming into editing and uploading this clip, 1 minute into the Owl Forest I saw these majestic creatures in chains, It was sad for me to witness, I spent a maximum of 3 minutes there filming the place of the Unlimited Time we were given at the owl forest.
I do understand in a travel vlog like this I would like to keep you all entertained and happy but I just wanted to share to you how I felt about this place especially.

Exploring Harajuku! | Shiba Dog Cafe, Tokyo Snake Center, Crepes, & More!
We explore Harajuku in today's Tokyo vlog! In Harajuku, we mainly explored the many different cafes they have to offer. We went to the Shiba Dog Cafe and Owl Forest, Tokyo Snake Center, a small cute cafe for lunch (also super instagram-able!), and a delicious crepe shop! Harajuku was so much fun to just walk around and see all the cute little shops and boutiques but the cafes were definitely the highlight of that day.
The Shiba Dog (or Shiba-Inu) Cafe and Owl Forest were located on Takeshita Street. The Shiba Inu Cafe was a bit crowded and we could tell the dogs were a bit tired (we were there around 1pm) so I would recommend to go earlier if possible. The Owl Forest was a bit smaller than I imagined but it was cool to be able to get up close and personal with many different owls. Be careful with some, because as you saw in the video, some may attack! We then left Takeshita Street and wandered around the smaller streets of the area. These streets had so many cute shops and definitely not as crowded with tourists, so I would definitely spend more time there next trip. We found our lunch spot on one of those streets, the Burn Side St Cafe. Super delicious foods and very aesthetic lol. We then went to the Tokyo Snake Center which was about a 10 minute walk from the Harajuku Station area. Admission is 1000 yen with additional costs to hold snakes. This center was such a cool place and the attendants were really knowledgeable about snakes. The whole place had such a relaxing vibe and definitely would recommend you check it out!

Flowing Japanese Bamboo Noodles (Nagashi Somen)|Day 95 - Miyazaki
The spectacular steep walls of the Takachiho Gorge were formed by columnar jointing, due to the rapid cooling of an ancient lava flow that filled the narrow valley of the Gokase River after an eruption of the Mt. Aso volcano.
The Takachiho Gorge was designated a National Scenic and Natural Monument in November 10, 1934.

TRIP TO JAPAN, APRIL 2017
An amazing one week journey. Falling in love so hard with every details in the country...
It began with beautiful & quiet Kyoto City. Spent 3 nights in Nishikyogoku, 30 minutes by bus from Kyoto Station. Kyoto is best for people who love enjoying the nature. We visited the world travel destination, Fushimi Inari Shrine and Arashiyama bamboo forest..
Next, we headed to sophisticated Osaka City enjoying Universal Studio Japan (Harry Potter ride is the best!) then tasted a dazzling Takoyaki in Dotonburi..
Last few nights we spent in the busiest city, Tokyo. Slept 2 nights in Hatsudai, Shibuya. Sight-seeing in the famous Shibuya street, enjoying their city lights (night view is better than its daylight). It was impossible not to go shopping in Shibuya street, every corner offers you really nice stuffs. Our last day, we experienced one of the very last blooming Sakura in Roppongi, Aoyama Park.
It's impossible not go to Japan again..

Eating Purple Japanese Noodles|Day 99 - Saitama
Kawagoe is a city located about 15 km west of Omiya in Saitama city. In Edo Period (from the 17th to late 19th centuries), here was the central city of Kawagoe Domain, then here had prospered as a castle town. Fortunately, this city escaped the damage of the World War II, so it still has many old streets and buildings.
Then, this city is often called Koedo (Little Edo). In March 2007, the Emperor and Empress guided the King and Princess of Sweden around this city. The main area is located in a northerly direction of Kawagoe station (JR, Tobu Lines) and Hon-Kawagoe station (Seibu Line). And it is nearly within about 1 km circuit. You can make a tour of old town, not only on foot but also by route bus or rickshaw for sightseeing.
