FABAPC® Feature: Shenzhen City PingShan District
Pingshan was established as a New District on June 30, 2009 by the Shenzhen municipal government. This new district superseded the old plan which was initiated back in 1994 and began construction in 1997. It was still part of Longgang District in administrative management. On October 11, 2016, Pingshan was officially separated from Longgang to become a district itself.
Located southwest of the Huanping community in Pingshan New District, the Dawan Ancestral Residence is one of the biggest Hakka buildings in China. It was built by the Zeng family in 1791 during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor in the Qing dynasty.

RMB 2 Billion Corruption Story

A victim of forced demolition recently disclosed that
in order to scrabble the power in the 18th Congress of CCP
(Chinese Communist Party), Wang Yang, the CCP Secretary
of Guangdong instructed the Nanfang Daily Media Group
under his charge to criticize Bo Xilai's campaign of
Singing red songs and suppressing mafia in Chongqing city.
Meanwhile, the it exposed the CCP Secretary of Shanghai,
Yu Zhengsheng, and his henchmen who have embezzled
RMB 2 billion yuan of household relocation funds
for building the Beijing-Shanghai highspeed rail.
Since the case was found to have involved Chen Zhili and
Jiang Mianheng, Jiang Zemin's mistress and son, respectively,
the CCP's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection
(CCDI) wrapped up the case in a hasty and slapdash way.
During the 66th U.N. General Assembly, Zeng Xiamin,
a Shanghai-based petitioner came to the U.N. Headquarters,
protesting the CCP authorities for seizing her land and
her private house.
In February, 2010, over 300 policemen conducted a violent
demolition of her residence,
During the violent process, Zeng had three front teeth
knocked out, and her mother and grandmother were injured.
According to Zeng's article published online, Chen Xiaoying,
a reporter from the 21st Century Business Herald of
the Nanfang Daily Media Group was asked by Wang Yang
to interview many demolition households during the building
of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, including Zeng herself.
Wu Fan (Editor-in-Chief, China Affairs magazine):
Before the CCP's 18th National Congress, the CCP officials
unsparingly attack counterpart's weaknesses.
The high-speed rails are under the control of Jiang's clique,
so Wang certainly seized this opportunity to give his rivalry
a blow. This is typical in the CCP's internal struggle.
Around March 2010, Chen Xiaoying went to Zeng's home
several times to interview her.
Chen repeatly told her that there was central-level officials
behind her, she did not need to fear of Yu Zhengsheng.
Chen said that Yu and the corrupt officials in Shanghai
must be brought down.
Chen Xiaoying and her boss repeatedly promised that
they could ensure Zeng's security for her disclosure..
Zeng provided Chen with a lot of information, including
irrefutable evidences of corruption by Yu Zhengsheng and
his henchmen for RMB 2 billions of compensation
for Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail project.
Zeng acquired all these evidences through her relatives
and friends who are officers in the government.
Afterwards, Chen Xiaoying published an article on
the 21st Century Business Herald,
entitled Embezzlement of 2 Billion Loans for Beijing-Shanghai
High-Speed Rail among others, exposing dozens of
corrupt officials including Shanghai Vice Mayor Shen Jun
and the CCP Secretary of Jiangqiao Town, Fu Yifeng.
The CCDI quickly dispatched a task force for investigation,
and Shenzhen Office of National Audit Office also came in.
After a year's investigation, Zeng's evidences were
confirmed to be true, but only Fu Yifeng was removed
from office, without touching Yu Zhengsheng and Shen Jun.
Zeng said that Fu Yifeng was later appointed as
the CCP Secretary of a town in Qingpu District, Shanghai,
but Fu refused to take the new appointment.
He still worked at the Jiangqiao town government.
It is known to the local folks that Fu's backstage supporter
is Chen Zhili and Jiang Mianheng.
Three of them are said to have sworn to form allegiance.

SUMMARY
=======
The Imperial Japanese occupation of Hong Kong (香港日據時期) began when the Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Mark Young, surrendered the British Crown colony of Hong Kong to the Empire of Japan on 25 December 1941. The surrender occurred after 18 days of fierce fighting against the overwhelming Japanese forces that had invaded the territory. The occupation lasted for three years and eight months until Japan surrendered at the end of Second World War. The length of this period (三年零八個月) later became a metonym of the occupation.

SUMMARY
=======
Wuhan ([ù.xân] (listen); simplified Chinese: 武汉; traditional Chinese: 武漢) is the capital and largest city of the Chinese province of Hubei. It is the most populous city in Central China, with a population of over 10 million, the seventh-most populated Chinese city, and one of the nine National Central Cities of China. It lies in the eastern Jianghan Plain, on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River's intersection with the Han river. Arising out of the conglomeration of three cities, Wuchang, Hankou, and Hanyang, Wuhan is known as China's Thoroughfare (九省通衢), and holds sub-provincial status.
Wuhan's history dates 3500 years. It was the location of the Wuchang Uprising, which led to the downfall of the Qing dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China. Wuhan was briefly the capital of China in 1927 under the left wing of the Kuomintang (KMT) government led by Wang Jingwei. The city later served as the wartime capital of China in 1937 for 10 months during the Second Sino-Japanese War. During the Chinese Cultural Revolution, an armed conflict between two hostile groups who were fighting for control over the city became known as the Wuhan incident.
Wuhan today is considered the political, economic, financial, commercial, cultural and educational centre of Central China. It is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city and connecting to other major cities. Because of its key role in domestic transportation, Wuhan is sometimes referred to as the Chicago of China by foreign sources. The Golden Waterway of the Yangtze River and its largest tributary, the Han River, traverse the urban area and divides Wuhan into the three districts of Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang. The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge crosses the Yangtze in the city. The Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest power station in terms of installed capacity, is located nearby.
While Wuhan has for decades been a traditional base for manufacturing, it has also become one of the areas promoting modern industrial change. Wuhan consists of three national development zones, four scientific and technologic development parks, over 350 research institutes, 1,656 hi-tech enterprises, numerous enterprise incubators, and investments from 230 Fortune Global 500 firms. It produced GDP of US$ 224 billion in 2018. The Dongfeng Motor Corporation, an automobile manufacturer, is hea ...
