NTV Connect: Fort Portal, the Tourism magnet
Tourism is almost a one billion dollar industry in Uganda. There are regions taking a lion's share in the industry. They include areas near Murchison falls National Park in the north, Kidepo in the north east and the Mugahinga in the south. Fort Portal in the Rwenzori region has a lot to offer and both local and foreign tourists have been streaming to this small town.

Kivalle National Park is located 26 km from Fort Portal. Here you can find 13 primates and the smartest chimpanzee. I went to the chimpanzee in the park. Several cars have already been waiting for tourists. But to see the chimpanzee you need some time. Did you go chimp tracking yesterday? I went to the chimp for four hours yesterday. I spent two hours wandering around the jungle and two hours back to camp. But I failed to see the chimpanzee It is very hard to meet the chimpanzee in the rainy season. The first reason is that chimpanzees lacking food lead the flock and continue to search for food. The second reason is that chimpanzees do not like to walk around on wet grounds, mainly because they live on branches. I am exhausted when I go to the jungle for over 2 hours. When I give up, I hear a chimpanzee 's herd in the jungle forest. One by two, chimpanzee males gather among the branches. We encountered a group of females who raised their young. I met a 3 month old cub and a mother chimp under the tree. After a while, a chimpanzee that looks like her sister is approaching. The younger sister carefully arranges the hair of the mother. Spend time peacefully in the sunshine in the woods. I was able to meet a family of chimpanzees and cubs who landed on the ground, but the mother chimpanzee with a lot of shyness and vigilance went slowly into the jungle in the distance. The chimpanzee meets in the wild have been disappointed in the short encounter that was amazing and mysterious. If the land is wet, the chimpanzee wants to be in the tree. I was very lucky to meet the chimpanzee on the ground.

ECO TALK HOT SPRINGS
it is not uncommon to find hot springs in a hot tropical African get- away. Semliki National Park near the Rwenzori Mountains in Western Uganda is home to the Semiliki hot springs which are volcanic features that were formed millions of years ago. Some see the hot springs as a healer; or a kind of calming agent. Let us visits the Semliki springs to savour the hidden treasures they posses.

We headed to Port Fortale, the center of southwestern Uganda sightseeing. It is about 300km southwest of the capital Kampala. On the way, I faced a huge tea field. The car was first introduced in Uganda in 1909. Now it has developed into the world's top 10 producer of tea. Currently, 90% of cars are exported to India and sold in combination with other cars. The deep green waves, the fragrant incense, do not fall easily. We thoroughly manage the nutrients needed for the tea, and mostly harvest young leaves to maintain a soft tea flavor. Most of the workers came from nearby Rwanda. I have crossed the border to find a job. All work is done in the morning to avoid a hot afternoon. The appearance of the young leaves that ate the morning dew looks really crispy. The harvested tea leaves are aged 3 to 7 days in advance. The car is finished if it is made with powder and steamed. Tea is a major export item in Uganda and accounts for a large portion of the revenues earned abroad.
