Let's visit the N.W. corner of Oregon: Starting at Hammond, we'll see South Jetty, Wreck of the Peter Iredale, Coffenbury Lake, Ft. Stevens, Warrenton, Ft. Clatsop, Astoria, Astor Column, Maritime Museum, Knappa, Ghost Towns of Brownsmede and Clifton, Bradwood, Bradley Park, Wauna and Taylorville.
South Jetty Observations; Fort Stevens near Hammond, Oregon
I was surprised to see so many fisherman out on a Tuesday morning around here. Yes, it's fishing season. Yes, it's the Columbia river.
I didn't realize that so many love to use this area for fishing. If you don't have a boat, then the bay is the best place to sport fish off the shore. I saw that some fishermen caught some sizeable fish out here. Your luck can be pretty good for making a catch.
The jetty is man-made. It breaks up the large swells from the Pacific Ocean, which helps stabilize the sand bar. There used to be famous bar pilots who made a lot of money navigating cargo ships into and out of the Columbia River, but now, with the rock piles, the waves can't do as much damage, but the sand bars will still shift around. it's not always easy to measure the change in the sand bars positioning either. Many ships have crashed because of these sand bars.

Civil War Camp; Fort Stevens; 150th Anniversary; Hammond, Oregon
Youtube stabilized, I start walking in the tent store, then walk around the sleeping areas. I caught a glimpse of everything. I counted 4 or 5 horses in one spot designated for the calvary. There are a lot of people out here participating in this thing. I wonder how many people come to witness it all?
Lots of different unique for sale. Think leather items and flimsy old fashion clothes. Top hats and everything can be found here to look like you were from the Civil War era too.

We found Fort Stevens to be one of the most Haunted locations we have seen this year.
This is the evidence we captured of our Night Investigation, you will see more evps, Apparitions, Mist and Lights we didn't comment on because there was too many to point out.

To clarify, at 2:43, this is a Machine Gun Nest.
No ghostly encounters occurred to my knowledge on this trip. The cemetery was neutral with no negative or positive energy being noticed. Intensity was very low.
The only negative was from a Hammond Local that thought I shouldn't be taking pictures of the old structures.

When Japan Bombed Oregon in WWII
Between November 1944 and April 1945, Japan launched over 9,300 fire balloons. The balloons were released from the Japanese island of Honshu, and one or more eventually found their way to the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Michigan, and Iowa, as well as British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories in Canada. Some even reached northern Mexico. The fire balloons consisted of a simple hydrogen balloon that carried a variety of incendiary devices or bombs. They were a weapon that could be very cheaply produced in Japan and let loose to be carried by the jet stream over the Pacific Ocean to North America. The fire balloons intended targets were Canada and the United States where the bombs could potentially kill people, destroy buildings, or set fires to cities, forests, or farmland upon their arrival. The fire balloons remain one of the lesser known weapons employed during WWII, responsible for one of the few successful attacks carried out on North American soil during the war. It was also the first intercontinental weapon used in warfare. The six fatalities caused by a fire balloon in Oregon are the only known deaths in the continental United States as a result of an enemy assault during World War II.
