The Central Slovenia is the place where the alpine and karst landscapes meet. Thus, various unique natural and cultural particularities were created. Some of these are the Ljubljana Marshes, an area of wetlands and peat bogs known for its prehistoric pile dwellers and for its rare animal and vegetal species, the high mountain plateau Velika planina situated in the Kamnik Alps, noted for its ski centre and for being the oldest dairy herdsmen’s settlement in Europe, interesting subterranean caves, karstic fields and the mysterious forests of the Polhov Gradec and Posavje hills that abound with tourist farms.

You will definitely not be bored. The various cultural events are marked by the richness of the tradition as well as by the modern creativity. Forests, rivers and lakes offer great possibilities of an active holiday in the open air. You can choose between hiking, cycling, exploring the nature, hunting, fishing and during the winter, also between skiing and cross-country skiing. There are also some well-maintained golf courses.

A 4K View Of The City Ljubljana In Slovenia

Showcasing a 4K view of the historical city Ljubljana in Slovenia. Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. The fast running Ljubljanica River runs through the capital. You will see the famous architecture of the Triple Bridge, a set of three bridges that cross the river. It unites the modern city and old town.
Looking from the Castle onto the city is the first view. Then the Plaza Prěsernov with the great architecture and stand out colour of the Franciscan monastery and the Church of the Annunciation (Franciškanski samostan/Franciscan Monastery). Walking over the triple bridge with the view of Ljubljana Castle that lies high above the city. Next up, standing in front of the town hall is a view of the Robba fountain, also known as the Fountain of the Three Carniolan Rivers (Vodnjak treh kranjskih rek). Another famous bridge of Ljubljana is the Dragon bridge (Zmajski most) with its fearsome looking dragons one of the tourist attractions not to be missed. Another bridge the Butchers' Bridge (Mesarski most) where lots of couples left their “love padlocks”. This is where you can find many smaller grotesque sculptures designed by Jakov Brdarand. Last but not least the Ljubljana Castle (Ljubljanski grad) .
