Places to see in ( Virginia Beach - USA )
Virginia Beach, a coastal city in southeastern Virginia, lies where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. A 3-mile boardwalk stretches along its beach-lined oceanfront. The bayside First Landing State Park marks the 1607 arrival of the Jamestown colonists from England. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center exhibits ocean life including sharks, rays and sea turtles in globally themed habitats.
Virginia Beach offers the classic beach vacation, and maintains a long-standing reputation as a family-friendly oceanfront resort. Visitors are greeted by a 300-foot wide beach lined by Virginia Beach’s three-mile concrete oceanfront Boardwalk. The resort offers a mild climate year-round. Itineraries include lazy days on the beach, the state parks and Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge beckon, hiking, kayaking, and biking adventures. Fishing, golfing, whale watching, dolphin watching, historic landmarks, and exciting attractions and popular events are part of the Beach experience.
With 35 miles of sandy beaches, a 3-mile concrete oceanfront boardwalk and nearby outdoor activities, it's no surprise that Virginia Beach is a prime tourist destination. The city has worked hard to shed its reputation as a rowdy 'Redneck Riviera,' and hey, the beach is wider and cleaner now and there are fewer louts. Beach aside, you'll find some lovely parks and nature sites beyond the crowded high-rises lining the shore. Expect thick crowds, heavy traffic and high prices if visiting in the summer.

Historic US (originally Otis) Traction Elevator at Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix, AZ.
Filmed on July 22, 2016: This obviously used to be a vintage old gated Otis bird-caged elevator (look at the gated elevator exhibit around the staircase) from 1900 is when they installed this, until they completely remodeled the cab in the 1930's/1940's I think (COMPLETELY unsure), then US in the 1980's. Overall, this is an AMAZING elevator!!!!! :D In this video also features a mini tour.
I have a mini tour of both elevators here I will upload sometimes near the future.

Historical Beachfront in Boca Grande, Florida
Presented by Gulf to Bay Sotheby's International Realty
For more information go to
One of Boca Grande’s most historically significant beachfront homes with 145 ft of gulf frontage situated on approx. 1 acre of land. Originally owned by Louise duPont and Francis Crowninshield, this exquisite home was built in 1927 as a winter retreat. A 2+ year renovation combines a bygone era with new vogue as seen from imported European mosaic tiles, imported crystal hanging pendants, and chef custom designed kitchen by Chicago’s diGulio’s Kitchens. Elegant features are surrounded by shell stone floors and ceilings made from the estate’s reclaimed cypress wood. Rebuilt from the foundation up, impact-resistant windows and custom impact NanaWall® sliding doors were installed and offer wide-open views of the white sand and azure waters. Numerous water amenities surround the exterior, including a 12-foot deep swimming pool with shell stone deck, spa, restored seahorse fountain, and two reclaimed water cisterns. Renovated under the Florida Green Building Coalition guidelines, recycled and energy efficient materials were utilized. Truly a rare find, this 7-bed, 6-bath, 4,800 AC sq. ft. and 11,228 overall sq. ft. architectural jewel offers the best of Boca Grande’s Gulf Coast beauty and history.

Overland Expo East Trip Ep 04 Cathey's Creek
We went towards Brevard, NC. Robert found free camping in Pisgah National Forest, not far from Hendersonville, NC. It will be close to the South Carolina border. Cathey's Creek in the Pisgah National Forest.
We found a camp spot in the forest. We can only stay in the spots marked for camping. The ones we saw had a parking area, then a tent area a short walk away. We found one with a level and fairly big parking area so that we could set up the roof-top tent. There were two fire rings a short distance away. A big log with a cut out that looked like a seat was near one of the fire rings. We were able to park without leveling blocks. We are off the road. Several cars did go by, but we are off a dirt road. No cell service.
Robert is convinced that the water from Cathey’s Creek is the best filtered water he has ever had. Cold morning but it warmed up nicely. Got up and had eggs, bacon pieces/ends, and avocado for breakfast. We went to the creek and filled up water bottles and the dromedary bag. We packed up and left by about 11 a.m. and left the campsite to head toward Cruso.
We headed toward the Pisgah National Forest. We got onto Cathey Creek Trail. We enjoyed beautiful and windy roads. The colors were absolutely wonderful. We made our way to Harmon Den Horse Camp to check out the dispersed camping. There was a fee for camping at the horse camp, so we continued on. We saw a parking area and another dirt road. We found a pull off with a fire ring off of forest service road 148A.
We left the campsite to explore what was up the road. We thought there may be other opportunities to camp. We drove a few miles and ended up crossing into Tennessee. We saw a group of hikers at the border. The border was the Appalachian Trail.
After exploring and discovering no other camping options, we turned around and set up camp at the one we first saw on 148A. It was a nice evening. Nice camp. Spotty internet, ranging from 1X to 1 bar of LTE.
We had bacon wrapped chicken and salad for dinner. Robert talked to the guys on the radio. There was contesting, and Robert didn’t stay on the radio for long. I worked for a couple of hours until my laptop battery ran out.
There was wind up in the trees, but not blowing our tent. Rain started around 8:45 pm. We were already nestled in our tent way before the rain started.
We ate breakfast of eggs, bacon and avocado. Things were very wet. We wanted to head down the road and find another campsite. I couldn’t get my email to send so I needed to find enough signal to get a client email done.
We packed up our wet gear and were on a wonderful adventure of dirt roads. No internet on the trail. We eventually made it to Hot Springs, NC. On the trail we even entered TN then back into NC. We crossed the Appalachian Trail at the border.
