Kid Friendly BUNNY TALES - U.S. Landmarks - Children Friendly Discovery of the United States with Bunny Tales
Featuring Bunn.
Road Trip! Bunn the Bunny is at it again, ready to show children fun and exciting places. Let’s explore the United States and see popular tourist destinations as we travel in an RV.
Mount Rushmore has four U.S. Presidents carved into a mountain. Grand Canyon is amazing for sightseeing, hiking, white water rafting, and helicopter tours. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the largest suspension bridge in the world. Chinatown, also in San Francisco, is a large Chinese community outside of China. The Seattle Space Needle is another landmark to see with beautiful mountains in the distance. In Texas, we visit the Alamo, an early Spanish Mission that played a role in Texas independence. The San Antonio River Walk is another tourist attraction. In Washington D.C., we see the Washington Monument. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, we find the Liberty Bell. Our trip nears its finish at the Niagara Falls, located in both the United States and Canada. Finally, we go to New York city to visit the Empire State Building. What a view from high above! Did you know King Kong climbed this building? Wow! Of course that was just in the movies. The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom given to the U.S. by France.
Bunny Tales is a series of videos designed to provide children with educational discoveries, travels around the world, and even story time with favorites from the past, in a fun and creative way. As our children grow up in a world that’s becoming smaller and smaller around us, it is more important than ever that they learn and understand about people and places beyond their neighborhood and school.

Inside Juvenile Detention
As recently as 2005, the state of Virginia had eight centers like Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Facility, housing more than 1,300 delinquent youth. But by 2017, after a series of reforms, that number had shrunk to one.
“It's not that you can't do good work here,” said Andy Block, who, since 2014, has served as the juvenile-justice department’s director. “But the place itself and the design and the size and the location are barriers to doing good work.” Block and others are working to close Bon Air and replace it with something that reflects the juvenile justice reforms that have taken hold in Virginia and across the country—a system that once focused on confinement is now dedicated to rehabilitation. In recent years, more than 70 percent of Virginia's juvenile inmates were rearrested within three years of their release.*
Read more on The Atlantic:
*This documentary originally stated that Virginia has one of the highest recidivism rates in the country. This characterization was based on incomplete data. The documentary also stated that the three-year rearrest rate for current Bon Air inmates would be 74 percent. This was the rate for former juvenile inmates in Virginia in 2014. We regret the errors.

The ARCH: A Home Away From Home
Penn Celebrates 'Reinvigorated' ARCH, A New Hub For Student Life
On Thursday, Feb. 6, the Penn community gathered to celebrate the re-opening of the ARCH, Penn's Arts, Research, and Culture House.
The open house marked the completion of a $24.5 million renovation transforming the historic late-Gothic Revival building at 3600 Locust Walk into what President Amy Gutmann called a welcoming and central hub for all students to meet and share ideas and a beacon of undergraduate cultural and research life.
The ARCH is home to three cultural resource centers: La Casa Latina, Makuu: The Black Cultural Center and the Pan-Asian American Community House. These student-focused centers share the building with the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CURF). The renovated space also includes new meeting rooms, high-tech classrooms, and a performance space, as well as new lounges, a new café, comfortable study spaces, and a multi-use auditorium/classroom.
Gutmann said the renovated building presents new opportunities for the exchange of ideas.
At Penn we are inspired by working and learning together with others. Nowhere on any college campus anywhere in the United States is that ideal more elegantly realized that in the new ARCH, Gutmann said.
Considered by many familiar with the ARCH to be a home away from home, the reimagined building provides ample space for collaboration and exploration and greater access to the cultural resource centers and CURF.
President Gutmann was joined at the celebration by Provost Vincent Price and Vice Provost for University Life Valarie Swain-Cade McCoullum. Gutmann thanked major donors to the project, noting that the ARCH restoration represents the culmination of a core achievement of Penn's Making History Campaign.
Revitalizing and renewing this building has been one of our highest priorities, said Gutmann. What a wonderful gift for our students now and for generations to come. The ARCH is not just restored—it is reinvigorated, it's a building for the ages.
The celebration included free food inspired by the ARCH's new Tortas Frontera café, which brings renowned Chicago chef Rick Bayless' Mexican dining concept to campus, and entertainment by the student performing arts groups Onda Latina, African Rhythms, Penn Lions, Penn Atma, and Penn Dure, as well as a cookbook giveaway and book signing by Bayless.

September 11 - The Flight That Fought Back | United Airlines Flight 93
United Airlines Flight 93 was a domestic scheduled passenger flight that was hijacked by al-Qaeda on September 11, 2001, as part of the September 11 attacks. It crashed into a field near the Diamond T. Mine in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, near Indian Lake and Shanksville, during an attempt by some of the passengers to regain control, killing all 44 people aboard including the four hijackers. No one on the ground was injured. The aircraft involved, a Boeing 757–222, was flying United Airlines' daily scheduled morning domestic flight from Newark International Airport in New Jersey to San Francisco International Airport in California.
