STORYLINE:
The Romanian Jewish community on Friday commemorated the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the SS Struma, which had on board more than 750 refugees that it was taking to Palestine.
At the Jewish cemetery in Bucharest on Friday, members of the community held prayers which were also attended by Romanian officials and the Israeli Ambassador.
It is important to raise public awareness about this tragic event and especially to educate the young generation since even after 70 years there are still genocides in the world, said Dan Ben Eliezer, the Israeli ambassador.
The SS Struma, whose passengers fled Romania and docked in Istanbul, was denied entry to Palestinian territory by colonial power Britain.
On February 23, 1942, Turkey towed the vessel to the Black Sea and set it adrift.
A Soviet torpedo sank it the next morning.
All but one of the Struma's 769 refugees, as well as 10 crew members, died.

ARTISANAL ARGENTINE PASTA ???? + Tavern Picada in Trelew, Chubut, Argentina
Come join us for another Argentinian food adventure in Trelew, Chubut as we try artisanal Argentine pasta at Raices before heading to Hotel Touring Club tavern to try an enormous picada. One thing we've got to be clear about in Argentina is that it has some of the best pasta outside of Italy. At Raices we ended up sampling gnocchi and cannelloni along with Malbec red wine and a delicious carrot cake for dessert.
After lunch we visit some local parks and lakes in Trelew. The following day we visit Hotel Touring Club for a tasty Picada. This place oozes character and is on the Butch Cassidy trail. Trelew certainly has a lot to offer in terms of delicious food and quirky attractions. We really enjoyed visiting this city in Chubut, Patagonia.

ARTISANAL ARGENTINE PASTA ???? + Tavern Picada in Trelew, Chubut, Argentina:
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

Breakfast in Bratislava, Slovakia
Come join us for breakfast in Bratislava, Slovakia as we visit cafe Mondieu to sample a range of different breakfast food items for our late morning brunch. A typical Slovak breakfast, upon research, is typically meat heavy but after having some really heavy dinners of late we decided to order a lighter menu with some fancy drinks.
This restaurant in Bratislava served up delicious breakfast and high quality drinks. As a bonus this is probably one of the last meals we've had outside for the year. We'd highly recommend checking it out.
We ordered the following food items for breakfast in Bratislava, Slovakia:
1) 2 x caffè latte macchiato
2) 1 x spinach and parmesan omelette
3) 1 x brown toast with beetroot and pomegranate hummus and regular hummus
4) 1 x Slovak cheesecake with berries

Breakfast in Bratislava, Slovakia Travel Food Video Transcript:
Good morning guys. Breakfast time in Bratislava. And it has been a little difficult finding a place this morning. Yeah, yeah. It is just we went to one place and we thought oh this would be a great place to film. We went inside and it was just way too loud. So yeah the music in these cafes is like boom boom boom. One thing we don't always show you guys is that like there are times that a restaurant or a cafe or a bar might be a really good place to have food or a drink but not necessarily a good place to film either because it is too loud, the lighting is awful or just like we're seated too close to other people so we like feel uncomfortable. Haha. So those are the awkward. Those are the kind of three conditions that cause us to kibosh a video. So alright but we found a place. We did find a place. We're at Mondieu. Yeah, apparently this is one of the best places to have breakfast here in Bratislava. And cakes. And cakes as well. Yeah, they have a great looking cake display. Um, yeah they basically have a very I would say very diverse menu. Pancakes, French Toast, Omelets. So you were actually looking up what a traditional Slovak breakfast is. What was that basically?
So it involves sausage. Yeah, it involves sausage. And we haven't seen a whole lot of sausage on this menu. Well, there is one option. One option. But to be honest I've been eating like way more meat than normal and I just like don't feel I can stomach it this morning. So we've gone for something a little bit lighter. Um, yeah, we've placed our orders and the food should be arriving soon.
The drinks are here and we both got the cafe latte macchiato with chocolate. Look at this thing of beauty. Look at those layers in there.
Alright breakfast is here and it looks amazing. I ordered the scrambled eggs with parmesan and baby spinach. And it is one of those meals that I'm just going to have to eat super quickly before it gets cold because it is actually quite quite chilly outside.
I'm basically getting two pieces of toast. Yep. One of them has like I guess it would be an original hummus. Yeah. And this over here is uh beetroot hummus with pomegranate sprinkled on top. So this is definitely not your average Slovak breakfast at all.
And since this place specializes in chocolates, cakes and baked goods Sam could not resist getting a slice of cheesecake. The fruit cheesecake just looked too good.
Alright price point time. So it came to 18 Euros total. And I thought that was a really good deal because we ended up basically getting three food items, two breakfast mains plus cheesecake and we got like the two most premium types of coffees on the menu. See you guys next time.

Trying Croatian Food in Split, Croatia
Come join us we try Croatian Food at a local restaurant (Konoba Fetivi) specializing in seafood dishes, risotto and mediterranean cuisine. It has often been our experience that the best recommendations for restaurants and foods worth trying in a new destination are from locals, so we were thrilled when our airbnb host recommended we try seafood and risotto at Konoba Fetivi. Overall, we ended up ordering quite a bit for our lunch in Croatia:
1) Local red wine
2) Pipi (Croatian orange soda)
3) Fried shrimp with lemon juice
4) Black risotto cuttlefish
5) White cheese risotto
6) Apple strudel but we wanted to try Rožata
7) Fig liqueur (local Croatian drink)

Trying Croatian Food in Split, Croatia Travel Video Transcript:
Alright guys so it is lunchtime here in Split. We just arrived yesterday and we were asking our airbnb host for recommendations for her favorite restaurants and this was one place she mentioned for seafood. It is called Konoba Fetivi. We've just arrived like as soon as they opened we were by the door. It has got a great little courtyard. This is maybe is this our first meal outside in a courtyard in 2018? It is finally warm enough. Just barely. Borderline. I still have my coat over my shoulders. It is like low teens. We've got some sunshine and blue skies. It feels rustic. We're going to enjoy some seafood.
Tell me about the drink you got. The name caught my attention. Pipi. Our waiter said it is like the Croatian fanta but even better. Better than fanta. And I have to agree. I had a sip too. I had a sip already. It is more juicy. It is like more fruity.
They have just brought out yeah all of the food. This is our appetizer. We got the fried shrimp and I love how they serve it.
This is a tile. This is like a tile off of a roof. Oh wow, that is what it is? That is the best. My house in South America used to have tiles like this.
Just some brown paper and then our shrimp. We doused it in lemon juice too. Perfect with lemon. A little bit of course sea salt on top.
We are going to move on to the risotto even though we have lots of shrimp to work with.
Okay now try the black one too. And I'll eat some of the black risotto. Some of the cuttlefish. Black squid ink. We've got some little shrimp, black pepper it looks creamy.
You can taste a little bit of the white wine. I like how creamy it is. I like the taste of the cuttlefish.
So dessert time. Dessert time. Well guys we ended up going with apple strudel. I know it is not the most local thing. What was the one that we wanted to get but they didn't have?
We wanted to try something called Rožata. Which is a local caramel pudding.
You can tell tonnes of apple in there.
Really good. Really juicy.
A little tipple. A little liquor. A little liquor and this is local date. Fig!
The color of your hair. And your moustache. And your beard. If you've ever had date or fig syrup. It has got that kind of taste and then potency of the alcohol. This is just a beautiful way to end off an awesome meal. Let's enjoy that cake. And then I've got to do a lot of walking after to burn. To burn off all of these calories. It has been a big meal.
Finished that meal. Time to assess the damage. That was 343 Kuna or 46 Euros. Not the cheapest meal but my gosh that was delicious. So that included the two risottos. That included the shrimp appetizer. That included the wine and your soft drink. The dessert drink. And the dessert of course. Overall a fantastic meal. We absolutely love that place. If you guys come here you've got to check it out for sure.

Mostar Food Review - Eating Bosnian Dishes at Šadrvan restaurant in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina Travel Video Transcript:
We have come back to our favorite restaurant in all of Mostar. We're at Šadrvan. What is this? Like our third, fourth time eating here in a matter of days? It is our third time.
So we've ordered two glasses of red wine. We are having Blatina and we tried this for the first time and it is a nice full body red, dry like just wonderful flavor and aftertaste.
We are starting off with Schnitzel Šadrvanska Story. And what is in it? It has got so much in it that I'm going to read it off of the menu. Haha. I don't want to mess up.
So guys it is steak with turkey and ham, smoked cheese, breaded in a French manner with mushroom sauce, white wine and cream. Oh my. Now if that sounds decadent.
Okay so for my dish I got dolma and I feel like I've probably already shown this before because I've been eating a lot of it almost on a daily basis. We haven't shown it here though. And it does look different. I know we showed one dolma when we filmed here but they have two different kinds. This one is different. This one is dolma baked in cream. So you've got like the little peppers stuffed with rice, stuffed with minced meat. You've got some chopped carrots. It is really good and it comes with cream in the middle.
It is definitely good. It has got I mean the leaf wrapper. It is completely different texture from this but if I had to pick between the two I would go for this one. The pepper.
Well well it is time for dessert. For mine I also ordered a dessert I had on my first night here. I believe it is pronounced tufahija (tufahije). It is a poached apple that I think has been cooked in like sugary water and then the apple is stuffed with nuts. Then it has whipped cream on top.
Sam over here got baklava. Compared to normal baklava in other places they are a bit more generous with the nuts. It is also a bit thicker than normal making it more delicious.
So time to talk about the bill. It came to 46 in local currency which was 27 US dollars or 23 Euros. We ordered five food items. Basically the two appetizers and then the big meat dish and then two desserts and two glasses of wine. Excellent value and the food was fantastic. Just a wonderful way for us to finish off our time here in Mostar. Bye.

Europe Bus Travel from Budapest, Hungary to Krakow, Poland
Join us as we travel from Budapest, Hungary to Krakow, Poland on Flexibus as part of our Europe bus travel series. Having spent a few weeks in Kyrgyzstan we took a return flight back to Budapest, Hungary but only for a stopover.
Originally we had planned to travel around the Balkans but we quickly changed that to the Baltics after experiencing high temperatures in Budapest and realizing it would only get hotter if we headed further south. With this mind we settled on starting our journey north in Kraków, Poland.
Overall, the journey was comfortable and rather scenic especially as we crossed through Slovakia. Upon arriving, before we even considering checking in, we first had to grab some pierogi. Afterwards we ended up getting super lost trying to catch a local tram because of bad directions.
When we finally did arrive at our AirBNB we were in awe of how big and nice it was. Given our excitement we had to pop open a bottle of wine to celebrate.

Europe Bus Ride from Budapest, Hungary to Krakow, Poland travel vlog video transcript:
Well good morning good morning from Budapest. We are back from Kyrgyzstan. We really didn't vlog any of that because our flight was like at what six in the morning. Yeah. We were up at four. We were so drowsy and we just slept on both flights. Yeah, we were proper zombies. Yes. And we figured it was the exact same journey just back to here. Yeah. But yeah we are going to vlog today. We've made a very quick change of plans. Oh my gosh.
Haha. Originally we were going to go to the Balkans. Yes. And now we're going to the Baltics. Yes because we arrived here in Budapest and it was so hot we couldn't function. And we were just thinking like are we really going to go further south where the temperatures are like mid 30s and even going to be going up to 40s. We were like no that is not a good idea. Let's head north instead where it is a bit cooler.
Yeah, so it has been put on the backburner. We're definitely going to go in the late fall. Yes. But just not now. Anyways, today we are off to Krakow, Poland.
Alright, Flixbus again. Why flixbus?
Because it is cheap. It is cheaper than taking the train or flying. And how much were the tickets for this one?
We paid 11 Euros and it is a seven hour bus ride. That is not bad.
So the update is that we've arrived in Slovakia. I think we're somewhere in the middle. Yeah. And yeah I think we have about two and half or three hours left to reach Poland and cross the border.
And it has been a beautiful beautiful drive. Like Slovakia is man that is a country I'd like to explore more in the future. Mountains and forests.
Yes, lots of forests and just lots of quaint little towns. It looks really cool.
So I do like to know where we are. So we are in Ruzomberok. I probably butchered that fiercely. And we're on the way to Krakow.
And you know what? I think most travelers after like arriving to their destination are just like dead set on like getting right to their accommodations and checking in and whatever. But no not for us. We're hungry and so before we even think about going to our AirBNB we're going to find some food here.
Surprise surprise actually there is no surprise. What is the 1st thing that we're ordering in Poland? We're having Pierogi. Oh, of course.
We made it. We are on the 5th floor. Actually it took us a while to get here because we had been sent instructions and the two trams we were told to take. Yeah. One of them wasn't running at this time. Okay.
But we're here. We made it to the apartment. It is really cool. Like it is so cool.
Yeah, long day. Anyways, we've got wine in hand. We've got great adventures in Krakow so expect food reviews and a city guide and an apartment tour coming soon. Urgh.
Ciao from Krakow.
