Things to do in Hanoi, Vietnam | vagabond vlog
My high school best friend Sharon and I decided to book an 11-day trip to Vietnam and Thailand. We did 3.5 days in Vietnam (Hanoi and Halong Bay), and 5 in Thailand! I packed only a carry-on for these 11 days (other days were all spent traveling) so you will see me wear pretty much the same outfit all of Vietnam (don't worry, by the 2nd day, I had ordered laundry service hehe).
Vietnam has always been a very special place to me because all my favorite people in my life are from there, I love the food, and its complex history has always drawn me in. Though this was just a dipping of the toes, I'm excited to go back ASAP.
It was 50-60s F which was pretty cold for an LA girl like me but otherwise, the weather was prime. :-) I think I spent about $3-4 or less per meal here which is WHY we were PIGGING out aLL the time !! I don't remember a lot of the names of the places we went to so if you know them, please let me know so I can write them down here!
THAILAND vlog coming soon...

This is a cinematic travel vlog about Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
With only 2 days to spend, we did a DIY tour of the city. Went and explored Old Quarter, West Lake and Hoan Kiem Lake, Ho Chi Minh
Mausoleum and various temples. Hanoi experience won't be complete without trying their local delicacies like Banh Mi, Bun Cha and Pho. And of course, one must try Vietnamese coffees. Mixed with Condensed milk, egg or coconut.

FIRST TIME TRAVELLING ON A TRAIN TO HANOI, VIETNAM
The first time we have travelled on a train here in Vietnam. Today we took the train from Phu Tho Province which is three to four hours north of Vietnam, to Hanoi.
We got brought first-class train tickets that cost around 49,000 Dong ($2.00 USD) per person.
The next day we met up with our Vietnamese friend Jack who works for Win-Win Travel. We then made our way on the shuttle bus to Ninh Binh province that is two hours south of Hanoi.
We then stopped off at a souvenir shop and had some breakfast then we travelled to Binh Dinh Pogada and Temple in Ninh Binh.
History of Bái Đính Temple (Vietnamese: Chùa Bái Đính) or Bái Đính Temple Spiritual and Cultural Complex is a complex of Buddhist temples on Bai Dinh Mountain in Gia Viễn District, Ninh Bình Province, Vietnam.
The compound consists of the original old temple and a newly created larger temple.
It is considered the largest complex of Buddhist temples in Vietnam and has become a popular site for Buddhist pilgrimages from across Vietnam.
Bai Đính Temple, along with Phát Diệm Cathedral, Hoa Lư Ancient Capital Tam Cốc-Bích Động, Trang An, Cúc Phương is a famous tourist attraction site of Ninh Bình Province.

VLOG - Hanoi - Halong Bay - Muslim Family Travel
Halong Bay is beautiful! We made it for our trip even after having a massive turning point in our life. *cough* house caught fire *cough* talk about it in another video. For now, we like to share our experience to Hanoi, Vietnam, trying out egg coffee, eating pho (not the easiest to find halal food in Hanoi) and the highlight would definitely be the Halong Bay Cruise trip! More details as in where we sleep (super cheap!! Rm50 per night) and where to find halal food and all that will be on the blog sooner than you expected. Enjoy the video and don’t forget to like and subscribe. It means a lot to us.

My husband (Johan) and I work very hard to fund our love of traveling and experiencing new taste at places we have never been to. We like to share our experience with like-minded people on the internet. Like you.
Our blog revolved around our life. Yes, I decided to call this blog ours, because my family is an important part of my blog.
You may bump into parenting topics, the beauty product that I tried, new recipe by my husband (he have a passion for food and car!) hotel we stayed at, kitchen appliances up to where we got our curtains hahaha…

VIETNAM OVERNIGHT TRAIN TO HANOI! Tour of Soft & Hard Sleeper
Travel by overnight sleeper train in Vietnam from Danang to Hanoi! I rode the 4-berth soft sleeper and toured the 6-berth hard sleeper near the end. Watch more Vietnam vlogs:

Like this video? Was it informative? Please help give it a thumbs up, comment, and share with a friend! Your extra love helps keep this channel going. I appreciate you, thank you dearly.
Hi family! Alright...so this overnight train ride to Hanoi was not the most pleasant for me; however, it is still a great way to travel Vietnam. Here are some things I'd recommend you doing if you are considering taking the sleeper train:
-DO bring food & snacks! No food cart rolled around during the entire 16 hour train ride. I kept trying to listen for the wheeling of the cart and even left my door open around dinner time. There was nothing. There was water and hot water though :) Cup o noodles team!
-DO bring jacket, scarf, or sarong that you can wear. It gets COLD at night especially as we get closer North. You can even lay them down if you're afraid of unclean bedsheets.
-DO check the door & lights in your room when you arrive in case there's some kind of malfunction. You may be able to ask the train staff (who come around sometimes) to switch to another one.
-DON'T talk super loudly and be mindful of other passengers in the room. A man ended up taking the berth next to me at 12am and was talking on the phone for a whole hour :/
-DON'T buy your tickets online if you can just get it at the station a few days earlier or even a day earlier! I met a couple of travellers who just showed up that day and booked. It is always cheaper way cheaper at the train station. OR ask your hotel staff to help you book it. Don't go to a tour agency - they'll charge you lots. I was traveling during TET so had no choice but to secure it online. If you're on last resort - check out 12go.asia (the site I use for train & ferry travel in Southeast Asia).
If you don't want to take a sleeper train but still want to experience it, take the Vietnam railway train from Hue to Danang or Danang to Hue. It is a 2.5 hour train ride with breathtaking views of Vietnam's coastline! You can just get a regular seat, no sleeper needed.
While this train ride didn't go so well for me, I know the experience is different for everyone. Take it or not, it's up to you :)! It IS way better than the overnight busses - or so I heard.
Thank you for tuning in! Hope this information helps you when traveling in Vietnam!
