Ukrainian-Russian Friendship Arch Monument in Kiev, Ukraine.
VIDEO LINK: = = Ukrainian-Russian Friendship Arch Monument in Kiev, Ukraine.Very big Arch of Ukraine-Russia Friendship was established on a high right bank of Dnieper riverin 1982, in a Soviet time. The central part of this monument is the sculpture of Ukrainian and Russian workers who are keeping the Order of Friendship in their hands. Other sculptures are Ukrainian powerful rich and poor Ukrainian cossacks, people leading by miliary leader Hetman Bogdan Khmelnitskiy and diplomat Vasiliy Buturlin who signed on January 8th, in 1654 year in the city Pereyasavl the agreement of friendship between Ukraine and Russian State, and Ukraine became a part of a large Russian state.
Арка дружбы народов — достопримечательность Киева, расположенная в Крещатом парке на правом высоком берегу Днепра, а рядом на другом холме - памятник Князю Владимиру - хрестителю. Открытие состоялось в 1982 году после четырёхлетнего строительства и было приурочено к 60-летнему юбилею образования СССР.
Монумент трудящихся представляет собой двухфигурную композицию (высота 6,2 м) рабочих — украинца и русского, совместно поднявших ленту с Орденом Дружбы народов.
Вытянутая по горизонтали многофигурная композиция, посвящённая воссоединению Украины с Россией авторства скульптора Александра Скобликова содержит статуи Богдана Хмельницкого и русского посла, боярина Василия Бутурлина. Скульптурные группы связывает арка-радуга, которая по замыслу авторов символизирует единение двух народов.

This film is a part of EPISODA, a project by reporter Peter Polter and Anat 3, the German-language TV channel of Santa Lemusa.
Far removed from world history it may be, but the fictitious island of Santa Lemusa lives its own little reality. Its inhabitants, too, want to create a picture of this planet for themselves -- and, in doing so, wish to depend not on foreign perspectives but on trustworthy Lemusan eyes. Since 2011 reporter Peter Polter has been journeying through this planet and periodically sending his «Episoda» back home to Santa Lemusa.
The «Episoda» are basically cinematic or filmic postcards, the principle of which is that they contain (with few exceptions) no cuts and, as a rule, go without no additional dubbing -- they are windows that open for just a few seconds or a few minutes. These postcards are generally accompanied by a short text by Peter Polter and also by a recipe from the region in question.

Friendship of Nations Arch dedicated to the unification of Russia and Ukraine within the Soviet Union.The arch was constructed in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.It was opened together with the All-Union Lenin Museum on November 7, 1982 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the USSR and the celebration of the 1,500th Anniversary of the Kiev city.On 20 May 2016 the Ukrainian government announced plans to dismantle the arch as part of its decommunization policy.

Arka Druzhby Narodiv, friendship arch
dedicated to the unification of Russia and Ukraine, was constructed in Kiev. The arch was opned on November 7, 1982 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the USSR and the celebration of the 1500th Anniversary of the Kiev city.constructed in 1982 by sculptor A. Skoblikov and architect I. Ivanov and others. The monument consists of three sculptural elements an arch and two statues.
A huge, 50 m (164 ft) in diameter, rainbow-shaped arch, made of titanium.
A bronze statue depicting a Russian and Ukrainian workers holding up the Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples
A granite stele depicting the participants of the Pereyaslav Council of 1654.
