Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) was a Norwegian sculptor. He is most associated with the Vigeland Sculpture Arrangement in this video, in Frogner Park, Oslo. He was also the designer of the Nobel Peace Prize medal.

Mandag 29. juli feiret vi høytiden for Norges helgenkonge, St. Olav, som falt på Stiklestad i 1030. Selv om den nasjonale olsokfeiringen holder sted i Trondheim, ble dagen som den skal, også markert i St. Olav domkirke i Oslo.

BAKGRUNN
Oslo vokser i rekordfart. Flere folk betyr mer trafikk. I årene fremover vil antall mennesker som skal til Bygdøy øke kraftig.
For at Oslo skal være en god by å leve i, må flere gå, sykle og reise kollektivt. Smale fortau, ingen sykkelvei og trafikkfarlige kryss gjør det nødvendig å bygge om hovedveien på Bygdøy.
INNHOLD
Det bygges nytt fortau, separat sykkelvei og trafikksikre kryss med bedre siktforhold. Kongsgårdsalleen forsterkes av 24 nye, friske trær. Salamanderne får en egen passasje under veien.
GJENNOMFØRING
Bygdøy har et sårbart og verneverdig kulturlandskap. Ombyggingen gjøres derfor så skånsomt som mulig. Inngrepene holdes på et minimumsnivå. Flere steder gjøres veibanen smalere enn i dag. Det samlede inngrepet er redusert med flere tusen kvadratmeter i forhold til reguleringsplanen.
