Quanzhou Museum & Gorgeous Hair Salon in Fuzhou ft. Joy | China/中国 Vlog
Joy and I visitied Quanzhou's Museum on this day! She was really against museums, but I'm happy she was still open to the idea of checking it out. Sadly my camera died that day, so I couldn't vlog everything, but I got most of the day down! The day after that, Joy and I just chilled at her place, and then we went out to Golden Palm, a gorgeous hair salon in Fuzhou, and had our hair washed. Wow I'm not very great with making the description sound interesting, am I? LOL

LOPO Terracotta Cladding Project -- FUZHOU STRAIT CULTURE AND ART CENTER
Project: Fuzhou Strait Culture Art Center, China
Lead designers: Pekka Salminen (chief designer) - PES-Architects Ltd., Martin Lukasczyk (project architect), Lai Linli (project manager)
Terracotta Cladding & Terracotta Louvers Manufacturer: LOPO China (
This project is located in the Sanjiangkou area of Mawei New District, Fuzhou, China, facing the Minjiang River. Designed by the Finnish design master Pekka Salminen, the project covers an area of about 150,000 square meters.
The inspiration of the project design comes from Fuzhou's city flower --- jasmine, with 'five petals, one flower' as its overall design concept. The entire building bears a strong resemblance to a white jasmine, with each single building as jasmine’s ‘petal’. The five petals are: multi-purpose theater hall, Opera House, Concert Hall, Art Museum, Film and Television Center.
The entire building’s facade is clad with LOPO white glazed terracotta panels and glazed terracotta louvers.
LOPO China is honored to be part of this project and hopes to cooperate with more architects in the future to complete more world-class construction projects.

Nanhou Street, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, China
Located in the Southern Chinese city of Fuzhou, within its Gulou District, Nanhou Street is lined by shops built in classical Chinese style. Both traditional and modern merchandise are on offer. Venturing down the little side streets, you will discover museums and art galleries.
This area is also known as San Fang Qi Xiang, which means Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. Sculptures of famous historical Chinese people can be found at the sides of the alleys with English inscriptions and a short history. The street is particularly charming at night when the lights come on.
In San Fang Qi Xiang there is a Starbucks housed within a beautiful old-style Chinese tea house. It offers several Chinese teas and other menu items which usually cannot be found in Starbucks outside of China. Inside the Starbucks, the interior was quite moody. I loved the ceiling lights upstairs.

Three Lanes Seven Alleys, 三坊七巷 Fuzhou, China
On an overcast winter morning we explore the Three Lanes and seven Alleys in Fuzhou, China.
Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is short for ten ancient lanes and alleys distributed in the two sides of South Backstreet of Fuzhou City, the three of which westerly are called lanes and the seven easterly are called alleys. From the north to the south successively, there are Yijin Lane, Wenru lane, Guanglu Lane, Yangqiao Alley, Langguan Alley, Anmin Alley, Yellow Alley, Ta Alley, Gong Alley and Jibi Alley.
Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is an important heritage site under the national protection that belongs to the To p 10 Historical and Cultural Street of China. Covering an area of 38.35 hectares and originally built in late Western Jin Dynasty (265-316), it retains the basic street patterns of Tang and Song dynasties (618-1279) with 159 buildings in the styles of Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), of which including 9 national protected historical sites and 8 provincial protected historical sites. Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is regarded as the architecture museum of styles of Ming and Qing dynasties as well as the living fossil of ancient city street system.
After the An Lushan Rebellion in 755 of Tang Dynasty (618-907), many people took refuge in this southern city Fuzhou and gradually this residential block took shape and inhabited by many officials and intellectuals. Today, many former residences of modern celebrities are still well-preserved for visitors. These celebrities include Lin Zexu, Zuo Zongtang, Zheng Xiaoxu, Deng Tuo, Yan Fu, Bing Xin, and Lin Juemin.
