Tortuga Bay & Las Grietas on Santa Cruz Galapagos Ecuador
Tortuga Bay is located on the Santa Cruz Island, about a 20-minute walk from the port in Puerto Ayora. The walking path is 2,5 km and is open from six in the morning to six in the evening. Visitors must sign in and out at the start of the path with the Galapagos Park Service office. Tortuga Bay has a gigantic, perfectly preserved beach and is preserved for the wildlife where many marine iguanas, galapagos crabs and birds are seen dotted along the volcanic rocks. There is a separate cove where you can swim where it is common to view white tip reef sharks swimming in groups & on occasion tiger sharks.
Las Grietas: Take a water taxi to playa Aleman for 80 cent and walk 20 minutes to las Grietas. Hike through a forest of enormous cacti and over rugged lava rock formations to one of the most unique swimming holes in the Galapagos islands. Las Grietas, which translates literally to mean the cracks, is a series of volcanic crevices that were formed during the cooling of molten lava. The porous lava stone of the island allows water to filter down from the highlands into Las Grietas where it mixes with sea water filtering in from the ocean. The resulting azure waters are crystaline and refreshing. Las Grietas is a popular swimming destination for locals and visitors alike. Float blissfully in the cool water -- or get your adrenaline pumping by jumping from the new wooden platform. A Naturalist Guide is not required to visit as the trail has been improved, but it is not recommended to travel alone as the jagged lava rocks en route can be tricky.
There are always a large variety of small fish, birds, including the brown pelican and gigantic galápagos tortoise. The Galápagos Islands were discovered in 1535, but first appeared on the maps, of Gerardus Mercator and Abraham Ortelius, in about 1570. The islands were named Insulae de los Galopegos (Islands of the Tortoises) in reference to the giant tortoises found there.

Exploring the Galapagos ????How to get to Tortuga Bay ????????Santa Cruz Island Ecuador
No matter where you stay in Puerto Ayora, getting to Tortuga Bay is basically the same route. Head south-west until you reach the Galápagos Centro de Energia Renovable (5-15 minutes walk from the main strip), then head down the only path for another 30 minutes until you reach the main Bay.
Despite the name Tortuga, the Sea Turtles were nowhere to be found today. We were instead greeted by swarms of sunbathing marine iguanas and various crabs, so we took the opportunity to catch some rays. Gringos beware, you are less than one-degree from the equator so be sure to slap on a bit of that SPF before you join them basking in the sun.
Head a little further along the beach and you will find Tortuga Laguna, a smaller sheltered bay where tourists are welcome cool down with a swim. It's easy to catch an up-close view the baby sharks and pelicans hunting for small fish along the edge of the mangroves makes for quite the spectacle, and a fantastic sunset in the evening.

started travelling at the age of 18 and for a long time, I was on the lookout for the perfect beach. You know the sort: powdery white sand and clear turquoise water set against a blazing blue sky. I’ve seen beautiful beaches in Barbados, Tunisia, Thailand, Mexico and Dubai, but none were quite the same as the brochures and billboards. However, Tortuga Bay on Santa Cruz in the Galápagos Islands lived up to expectations.

Amiguitos del mundo aquí les muestro si viene a las Islas Galápagos - Ecuador como pueden hacer para visitar esta hermosa playa se llama Tortuga Bay super conocida famosa y popular entre los viajeros del mundo .
Les cuento que estar entre mis TOP 5 de playas hermosas por conocer y lo mejor que la tenemos super cerquita de nuestro Ecuador
para llegar aproximadamente toma de 40 minutos a 1 hora caminando dependiendo el ritmo de caminata de cada uno de ustedes , también existe una forma de llegar para los que no quieren caminar es tomando un pequeña embarcación en el muelle ( ir super temprano en la mañana por que no hay muchas frecuencias ) les cuesta aproximadamente 10 dolares por persona .
Por favor si viene a las Islas Galapagos es paseo obligada se van a maravillar con las hermosas arena blanca se sentirán en el CARIBE.
