If you are a tourist and it’s your first time to visit Cagayan de Oro City, you have to visit this place. It’s also near the Cathedral, the Tower museum and the City Hall. There are times when they turn on the dancing fountain and you can take a a picture with the Amazing symphony of lights, it’s a nice sight to behold at night.

Gaston Park can be found in Cagayan de Oro City, particularly near Saint Augustine Cathedral and Archbishop’s Palace. It is one of the many famous landmarks in the city, including the Vicente de Lara Park, St. Augustine Cathedral, MacArthur Memorial Market, Plaza Divisoria, Makahambus Cave and Adventure Park, and the Huluga Caves. The park was named after the former and first mayor of Cagayan de Oro, Segundo Gaston. The area where the park is located used to be the town's center before the Pueblo de Cagayan was established in the year 1624.
The park has been a part of history because the park served as a training ground for the local revolutionaries during their preparations for the Philippine-American War of 1900.
