General Santos City Fish Port Complex in The Philippines Part-1
Follow us on Instagram:
The General Santos City Fish Port Complex is a sprawling facility. GenSan is known to be the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. I have always wanted to take a tour of this Fish Port but always missed out on all my previous trips. Luckily Sha and I got to take this tour on this my latest trip to the Philippines. The tour is free, however you must come early, preferably before 7am. You will check in at the administration building where you will sign in. You must wear long pants and shoes and will be required to wear the white boats that all the workers wear. You can rent these for about 100 Pesos (About $2.00 USD) at check-in. You will then be assigned a guide to take you around to the various places in the complex. Our guide was a police officer and he was extremely knowledgeable with some very good information about the Fish Port and its history. It was amazing at the amount of tuna that is processed here each day. It is probably one of the best places to work in GenSan. It was certainly worth the trip to visit this Fish Port Complex.
