These two state parks are just a few miles from one another in Middle Georgia. Both parks are exceptionally beautiful. It was sobering to find such an impressive waterfall in the Piedmont region of my native state.

Camping - Chattahoochie National Forest, GA
Free Dispersed Camping - Chattahoochie National Forest, Georgia - Hightower Campsite. It was a bit hot in late August, but absolutely beautiful. Amazing views. The drive in was a little rough. No problem with internet, but it could get noisy at times. Also no toilets or water. Bring everything you need in with you.

Okefenokee canoe trip
5 days/4 nights canoe camping in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in southeast Georgia the week before Christmas 2017. Forecast called for temps in the mid 70s and 100% chance of gators!

John McIntosh responded with the determined challenge, Come and take it! The British backed down and McIntosh became an American hero. His words were later inscribed on the Gonzales Cannon Flag during the Texas Revolution.
