Just off Montana Highway 1 mid-way between Anaconda and Philipsburg which are only 20 minutes away. Less than an hour to Butte and two hours to Missoula. This house has been meticulously maintained, sets on over 1/2 acre, and has an over-sized two-car garage and other outbuildings..

This is overlooking Grorgetown Lake from the 4 wheeler. The 4wheeler worked out pretty good with the 3 of us plus the dog. We took this video during our 2 week camping trip out west in July, 2009.

*SLAYING SOME RAINBOWS* Ice fishing on Georgetown Lake, Colorado #5280adventures
On the first ice fishing trip of the 2018-2019 season, I hit up Georgetown Lake in Georgetown, Colorado to target trout. The lake is know to have stocker size and larger of rainbow, brown and brookies.
This trip turned out very well as I ice 20+ trout through the wind and cold and up through the clear, blue skies and warm sun. The ice was 6+ already in late November.

⛺ Camping Lost Creek Anaconda Montana
Spectacular grey limestone cliffs and pink and white granite formations rise 1,200 feet above the canyon's narrow floor. Lost Creek Falls, in the northwest corner of the park, cascades over a 50-foot drop to provide one of the most scenic and popular spots in the park. Wildlife, especially mountain goats, vagrant shrews and bighorn sheep are frequently seen on the cliffs above. Camping, fishing, picnicking, bicycling and wildlife viewing is available.
If you prefer a longer hike, walk the Forest Service trail just north of the falls parking area. The trail winds for several miles along Lost Creek through forests and meadows with great views of the surrounding mountains.
The park is 502 acres in size and is 6,211 feet in elevation.
There are 25 campsites in the park. RV/trailer size is limited to 23 feet.

Here is a little time lapse of spawning rainbows from one of my favorite fisheries…the clear cold spring fed waters of Georgetown Lake new Philipsburg. I fell in love with this area while working for Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks in Anaconda at the Washoe Fish Hatchery in the summer of 1997, and still go back to the area as much as possible.
I started snorkeling and SCUBA diving the rivers and lakes of Montana back in 2002 to take a closer look at the underneath the thinly veiled water line that separates life above and below. And after many years of attempting to get the “perfect” fish photos, I found that just simply being in the water was more fulfilling than actually taking photos. The process of being submerged in the water is a relaxing and meditative process, literally, being immersed with mother nature….trust me, put river snorkeling on your to do list for this summer no matter where you are!

We just spent 6 weeks exploring around the small, centrally located town of Anaconda, Montana. We visited historical state parks and celebrated our children's birthdays and even managed to prepare for something big we have coming up.
While we've had such a great time, it's finally time to hit the road again.

On a recent visit to Anaconda, Montana for my nephew Eddie Heim's High School Graduation, I snuck away for an evening of fishing. I was pleased to find many willing rainbow at Rainbow Beach.
