The Most Haunted Ghost Town in Texas
We captured two supernatural events in the most haunted ghost Town in all of Texas! ????Terlingua, Texas was once a prosperous mining town in the late 1800's. But the town soon fell into it's own demise as hundreds of miners died due to extreme conditions in the Chisos Mercury Mine. Our film crew witnessed some strange events.

Hiked all throughout Ghost Town in Terlingua Texas! Found some cool buildings, old cars & old mine elevators. We painted some Big Bend National Park mountains in the morning (For sale for 1 billion dollars). Finally we headed over to the world famous chili cookoff, which we may or may not have missed.

Terlingua is a destination point for a lot of the park visitors . There is a lot to do in the area with Big Bend right there. Also you can do jeep tours (i took my own) and you can do rafting tours..and BIG BEND NATIONAL PARK

Terlingua famous ghost town!
Our visit to the distant Ghost Town of Terlingua Texas was quick since we were just passing through on our way to Big Bend Ranch State Park for a camping trip.
Terlingua is an old mining town from the 1800's but since then has always kept inhabitants. The Ghost Town is part of the original housing for the population that settled in the remote town.
This remote destination in Texas has since been a tourist destination for people who love the outdoors! With Big Bend Ranch State Park nearby, where there are some of the best mountain biking trails around, the average explorer will find alot to do! Including camping, jeep tours, mountain biking, and photography among other hobbies.
Terlingua Texas is near Study Butte and Lajitas and is home to the Terlingua International Chili Championship! An international known and extremely popular chili cook off!

Terlingua (Ghost Town) is a mining district in southwestern Brewster County, Texas, United States. It is located near the Rio Grande and the Texas villages of Lajitas and Study Butte, Texas,as well as the Mexican village of Santa Elena.
The Terlingua cemetery dates from the early 1900's when Terlingua became a flourishing mercury mining town. It served the district as the final resting place for residents and mine workers that succumbed to dangerous working conditions, gunfights and the influenza epidemic of 1918. Life was good, but could take harsh turns in the remote, untamed region known as the Big Bend.
The Terlingua cemetery is still used by the local community - evidenced by the newer graves. Each November 2, people gather there to celebrate the Day of the Dead and offer their respect to the departed.

Exploring the abandoned town of Thalia, TX. The Great Depression and drought caused this little town to go under. By 1943 the high school closed and by 1960 the post office closed. Now mostly decaying buildings remain.

Texas Ghost Towns: Davilla
As promised, I've finally made it to Texas and have explored and filmed my first ghost town. Here is some history:

A 1933 Telegram article describes Davilla as a town 'where automobile accidents do not occur, where no one dies from the striking hand of a murderer, and where the sale of intoxicating liquor is forever prohibited.'
That's because when H.C. Chamberlin bought the original land grant from Miguel Davila, for whom the town is named, Chamberlin stipulated that intoxicating beverages never be
sold there.
In such a sober manner, the town flourished for a while. It had three churches and the same number of gristmills and cotton gins along with a sawmill and a school. No saloons.
For five years, Davilla had an institution of higher learning, the Davilla Institute.
The school's first principal was George W. Baines, Sr., whose daughter, Rebekah Baines Johnson, is best known today as the mother of President Lyndon Johnson.
The Katy Railroad surveyed the land around Davilla as part of its plans to extend its tracks to San Antonio, but the Katy decided on another route and Davilla never completely recovered from the snub.
