Dalí Theatre and Museum in Barcelona Spain (Tours and Tickets Figures-İnformation)
Dalí Theatre and Museum in Barcelona Spain (Tours and Tickets Figures-İnformation)
The Dalí Theatre and Museum, is a museum of the artist Salvador Dalí in his home town of Figueres, in Catalonia, Spain. Dalí is buried there in a crypt below the stage.
Address: Plaça Gala i Salvador Dalí, 5, 17600 Figueres, Girona, Spain
Phone: +34 972 67 75 00
Founder: Salvador Dali
Founded: 1974
Dalí Theatre–Museum Tours
The small coastal town of Figueres, just north of Barcelona, is known for one thing: Salvador Dalí. Though the artist's fame brought him to more glamorous parts of Spain, Dalí eventually returned to his hometown of Figueres to build his greatest masterpiece, the Dalí Theatre–Museum. Located in the town's former Municipal Theatre, the site is a work of art in itself. Since this quirky museum was designed by Dalí to showcase his paintings, it offers insight into his imagination with a maze of his works displayed according to his own strange tastes. The museum also houses his crypt and grave.
The Basics
One of the best ways to see the museum, especially for those with limited time, is on a guided day trip from Barcelona, which usually allows for one to two hours of museum exploration. Day trips can also include visits to nearby Girona or two other Dalí attractions—Gala–Dalí Castle (Pubol Castle) and the Salvador Dalí House–Museum at Portlligat—along Spain's Costa Brava.
Things to Know Before You Go
The Dalí Museum is a must-see for art lovers.
Tours from Barcelona to the museum and surrounding area can last upwards of 11 hours.
Bring some one euro coins to activate several interactive exhibits within the museum.
The museum's central courtyard, stage, ground floor, and under-stage area (the site of Dalí's crypt) are all accessible by wheelchair.
How to Get to the Dalí Museum
Figueres is located 87 miles (140 km) northeast of Barcelona. A guided day trip with roundtrip transport is the easiest and most convenient way to visit the museum from the city, but travelers can also visit independently by taking a 55-minute high-speed train ride from Barcelona Sants station to Figueres Vilafant. From the train station, it's a 15-minute walk (or short taxi ride) to the museum. The nearest commercial airport is in Girona, 27 miles (43 km) to the south.
When to Get There
Although opening and closing hours vary slightly, the museum is generally open from about 10am to 6pm daily. Due to its popularity as a day trip destination from Barcelona, the museum can get crowded during peak tourist season in July and August. It quiets down from October to April, and the cooler temperatures make exploring Figueres more pleasant as well. To avoid crowds, plan to visit first thing in the morning or in late afternoon, a couple of hours before the museum closes.
The Dalí Jewels
The Dalí-Joies exhibit, included in the price of admission, occupies two floors of the museum annex. Inside are 39 pieces of jewelry made from gold and precious stones, as well as concept drawings made by Dalí between 1941 and 1970. It’s well worth setting aside an extra 30 to 40 minutes to tour this secondary collection.
Salvador Dalí as you visit his hometown of Figueres and the Costa Brava region, where he spent most of life, on this 11.5-hour private guided tour from Barcelona. Explore the life of this famous surrealist at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres in the morning, then spend your afternoon in one of Dalí’s favorite places, the Costa Brava, where depending on the time of year you’ll either visit the town of Cadaques (winter) or Palamos (in summer). Your private tour also includes round-trip transport from your hotel and entrance tickets at the Dalí Theatre-Museum.

Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Casa Museu Gala Dalí
Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Casa Museu Gala Dalí
The Castle of Púbol, located in Púbol in the comarca of Baix Empordà, Girona, Catalonia, is a medieval building where the surrealist painter Salvador Dalí's enormous creative efforts were focused on a single person, his wife Gala, with the aim of providing her with a unique sanctuary and resting place. In this sense, Gala is buried at the castle.
In 1968, Dalí bought Gala the castle where she would spend time every summer from 1971-1980. He also agreed not to visit there without getting advance permission from her in writing. In 1996, Gala's private castle in Púbol was opened to the public as the Gala-Dalí Castle House Museum.
After Gala's death in 1982, Dalí moved into the Castle for the first time. In 1984, a fire broke out in his bedroom under unclear circumstances. It was possibly a suicide attempt by Dalí, or possibly simple negligence by his staff. Dalí was rescued by friend and collaborator Robert Descharnes and returned to Figueres, where a group of his friends, patrons, and fellow artists saw to it that he was comfortable living in his Theater-Museum for his final years.

Our best-sold tour to Girona is called “ Girona and Costa Brava”.
What you are going to see doing the Medieval Girona and Costa Brava tour during one day?
From Barcelona we will head to the historic town of Girona, where the remains of a Roman and medieval past coexist harmoniously with the present, offering a complex image full of contrasts. Get lost in the maze of narrow streets and travel through time in the best-preserved Jewish neighborhood in Europe. Admire the Cathedral, boasting the widest Gothic nave in the world, and marvel at the colorful spectacle of houses along Onyar River, which splits the city in two. Because of its beautiful and historic scenery, the medieval center was chosen for some of the most important scenes in the popular series Game of Thrones.
Whether by its many bridges crisscrossing the river or by its strong medieval walls, Girona charms its visitors with an exciting panorama.
After exploring Girona, we will drive to Costa Brava, the northern side of Catalonia’s sunny Mediterranean coast. Before delving completely into nature, we will stop at the picturesque village of Pals. This ancient medieval village was once a fortress, still featuring idyllic cobbled streets and picture-perfect plazas. Its towers and other viewpoints offer the best views over the Mediterranean Sea and will allow you to see as far as the fields and Empordà plains extending into the horizon.
Next, we will continue to the Catalan coast, where you will enjoy the most breathtaking views: green mountains, the sheer relief of the coast, and small villages with whitewashed houses built around the swell of the Costa Brava. We will stop in Calella de Palafrugell, a traditional fishing village that fully retains the charm of its past. Before exploring the surrounding area, we will take a moment to relax and taste some of the delicious local cuisines.
The Caminos de Ronda (ancient pathways), which you will observe near Calella, lead visitors to discover the most pristine corners of the region. Fishermen, watchmen, and smugglers once used these pathways, which allow one to explore the coastal scenery. Follow the pathways to uncover the most popular beaches in the area, as well as hidden coves and cliff-sides. You can always take a dip in the crystal clear water, surrounded by unspoiled nature.

Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Roses
Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Roses
Roses is a municipality in the comarca of the Alt Empordà, located on the Costa Brava, in Catalonia, Spain. Roses is the site of former bishopric Rotdon, now a Latin Catholic titular see. It is situated on the coast at the northern end of the Gulf of Roses, and is an important fishing port and tourist centre. The C-260 road links the town with Figueres.
The origins of Roses (Greek: Rhode) are disputed. A popular theory holds it was founded in the 8th century BC by Greek colonists from Rhodes. It seems more probable that it was founded in the 5th century BC by Greeks from Massalia (Marseilles), perhaps with an admixture of colonists from neighbouring Emporion (today's Empúries). Remains of the Greek settlement can still be seen. Remains from the Roman period go back to the 2nd century BC and continue well into Christian times with a paleochristian church and necropolis. After the collapse of Roman power the town seems to have been abandoned, but a fortified settlement from the Visigothic period has been excavated on the nearby Puig Rom.
The mediaeval town grew around the monastery of Santa Maria de Roses (mentioned since 944). Its jurisdiction was shared by the abbots of Santa Maria de Roses and the counts of Empúries. In 1402 the county of Empúries was incorporated into the Crown of Aragon and Roses acquired the right to organize its own municipal government and economy.
In the first decades of the 16th century Roses suffered repeated attacks by privateers from North Africa. To counter the threat, Charles V ordered the construction of extensive fortifications in 1543. In spite of the precautions, a naval squadron led by the Turkish admiral Barbarossa attacked and plundered the town some months later. After substantial revisions, the fortifications were completed in 1553, under Charles's son Philip II.
After a long period of relative calm the Wars of the French Revolution ushered in a new round of hostilities. In 1793 the French revolutionary government declared war on Spain. At first, the Spanish armies won a foothold in France, but in 1794 the revolutionary armies invaded Catalonia. The Siege of Roses lasted from 28 November 1794 until 3 February 1795, when the garrison was safely evacuated by a Spanish naval squadron, except for 300 soldiers. The town was surrendered to France, but the war between France and Spain ended at the Peace of Basle signed in July 1795. The city quickly returned to Spanish control.
In 1808, Emperor Napoleon I of France forced King Charles IV of Spain and his son Ferdinand to abdicate and installed his brother, Joseph Bonaparte on the throne. When the Spanish people revolted against this high-handed behavior, French armies again invaded the country in the Peninsular War. The fourth and last Siege of Roses occurred in 1808. During the operation, the Scottish Royal Navy captain, Thomas Cochrane assisted the Spanish by putting his men into Castell de la Trinitat to help defend the town. The Scot stayed until the citadel and the town surrendered, before evacuating himself and his men. In 1814, when the defeated French withdrew from Spain, they blew up the town's fortifications along with the Castell de la Trinitat. At this time, the ancient town, called the Ciutadella, was completely ruined. Meanwhile, to the east the modern town slowly continued to grow.
