*RARE* Crow INDIAN RESERVATION HOUSE TOUR | THREE FAMILIES in 2-Bedroom House | Crow Agency, Montana
First Nation families gave me house tours on the Crow Indian Reservation in Crow Agency, Montana. This is a rare glimpse into how Native Americans are living.
I feel like Native Americans are out forgotten people, and it shouldn't be this way.
I came to Billings, Montana for a conference. I visited Little Bighorn Canyon on a day trip, and saw on the map that I was right by the Crow Reservation lands.
I became curious how Native American people live there. I spent about a week exploring the sacred lands and making friends.
My goal in making these videos is to show others how life is like on the rez. Poverty in America is real.
Everyone told me I should come back in August for the Crow Fair, the big pow-wow and cultural festival of their people. I hope I can make it there next summer in 2020.
I hope you enjoy watching this vlog of the amazing families who welcomed me into their lives with kindness. People here live humble, but are good and kind. ❤
Special thank you to Ally, who introduced me to these wonderful people.

Desperate search underway in Montana for Native American teen missing since New Year’s Day - Live N

Videos can use content-based copyright law contains reasonable use Fair Use ( A desperate search was underway in Montana Tuesday for Selena Shelley Faye Not Afraid, a Native American teenager who vanished from a rest area just outside Billings on New Year’s Day. The 16-year-old, who lives with her mother on the Crow Reservation, was last seen alive exactly two weeks ago around 2 p.m. at the eastbound Interstate 90 rest area, located between Billings and Hardin, according to federal investigators. A specialized Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team from the FBI joined the search for the missing teen on Jan. 8 – the same day authorities put out a “BOLO” alert, requesting the community “be on the lookout” for Selena. In the days since her disappearance, family, friends and other volunteers have joined law enforcement in their hunt for Selena. Helicopters, thermal drones, and K-9s, are being used in the search, which is being executed by way of ATV, horseback and on foot, the Billings Gazette reported. According to Big Horn County Sheriff’s officials, Selena was last seen driving from Billings to Hardin with a group of six others. Their car broke down amid the trip and Selena exited the vehicle and wandered into a nearby field. One person stayed behind to wait for Selena while the other four drove off after they managed to restart the car, NBC News reported. The driver of the vehicle did call a relative to pick up the two remaining people, but when they arrived on the scene, Selena still had not returned. She was reportedly wearing a black coat, gray sweater, blue jeans and gray ankle boots at the time. Her family said it was not like her to leave without telling someone and worried that she was not appropriately dressed for the weather, KGAB reported. The FBI said her direction of travel is unknown at this time. “We’re not going to be just a file in the cabinet,” Selena’s aunt, Cheryl Horn, told Dateline. “We’re going to find our girl. And when Selena is found, there are hundreds of more girls behind her waiting to be found.” According to the Associated Press, there were “nearly 300 cases of missing Native American women and girls reported to law enforcement agencies in Montana last year. Horn, who lives in a different reserve in the state, expressed gratitude for a recent law called “Operation Lady Justice,” – a bill signed by President Trump after he met with the Crow Tribe’s Chairman in Washington D.C. The executive order established a task force dedicated to investigating missing and murdered indigenous women. NATIVE AMERICAN brings me home on CROW INDIAN RESERVATION in Montana: Life on the Rez
Crow Indian Reservation, just south of Billings, Montana, is where I spent six days exploring the beautiful land and making friends, with my mother Carla.
What is this video about? I want people to see Native Americans, appreciate the music, and see how life is like on the rez. I was in Billings, the closest city, and I asked about the Crow Indian Reservation nearby. People told me there was nothing to see there. Don't go there. So, we decided to check it out for ourselves. Anyone can drive in.
My day starts with buying some fruit in Hardin, the closest town off the Crow Indian Reservation.
I was lucky enough to make friends with Lewis, a Crow Native American singer when my mother and I went to eat lunch at the local senior center.
In a previous video, Lewis gave me a Native American singing lesson. This time, we went to his house, and he kept singing for us. He still stays in my heart, even though I'm not there.
He took me his house today. He doesn't drive. There is a Crow Tribe public transportation, but not to the towns off the reservation. He likes to go to the movies in Sheridan, Wyoming on discount days. And even to Billings to listen to Jazz music on Sunday evenings. So, he will try his luck at hitchhiking, which usually works around here. It seems everyone knows everyone here. I was impressed how well he gets around, but with his infectious charm, you can see why.
I hope I can make it back here for Crow Fair in 2020, where the Crow Native American cultural traditions come alive, with traditional food, campsites, teepees and a big powwow.
We really loved making friends on the Crow Reservation, and I'm thankful for allowing me into your lives. ❤

NATIVE AMERICAN Teaches Me to SING on INDIAN RESERVATION | Crow Agency, Montana
I came here from Billings, Montana, just 40 minutes away, in a quest to get to know more about the modern Native American culture on the reservation. How are the people living here doing?
I have a lot of respect for how hard it is to sing the Native American songs. Lewis Walksoverice sings with such an amazingly powerful voice. I was lucky to meet him at the Crow Agency Apsaaloke Elders Program senior center lunch.
We instantly became friends and spent the day together, visiting Little Bighorn Battlefield, and he even welcomed me to his house.
We stopped in the campground of the Crow Fair, an annual event that celebrates Crow Native American culture, so that he can showcase and try to teach me some songs.
I hope you enjoy the music, even though listening to me try to sing is laughable. ????
Everyone is welcome to the Crow Indian reservation, no passport needed, obviously. Just drive on in.

Taming Big Sky Country: The History of Montana Transportation from Trails to Interstates
The state’s major routes evolved from ancient Native American trails into four-lane expressways in a little over a century. That story is one of difficult, groundbreaking, and sometimes poor engineering decisions, as well as a desire to make a journey faster, safer, and more comfortable. It all started in 1860, when John Mullan hacked a wagon road over the formidable Rocky Mountains to Fort Benton. It continued until the last section of interstate highway opened to traffic in 1988. Montana Department of Transportation historian Jon Axline charts a road trip through the colorful and inspiring history of trails, roads, and superhighways in Big Sky Country.
