Northern Lights & Blue Lagoon Tour Reykjavik Iceland, Aurora Borealis, 2 Magical sights Winter 2019
Tour Iceland in 5 Days with Arctic Adventures
It doesn’t matter if you visit for a day or a year; travelling Iceland is always going to be a rewarding, exciting, life-changing experience. If you don’t have a full week on your hands, fear not! You can still experience this incredible country for yourself without missing any of the powerful waterfalls, stunning glaciers, and jaw-dropping views that make the Land of Ice and Fire famous world-wide.
If you’re looking to fit in a lot of Iceland in a shorter amount of time, travelling along the South coast is a great option. This will allow you to see Iceland’s iconic hotspots without having to travel for very long! Beginning in Reykjavik, this five-day tour with Arctic Adventures does just that, and we think you’ll agree that it more than delivers on everything you think when you think about Iceland!
Here’s the best part about Iceland: those pictures you’ve seen on Instagram, the videos you’ve watched on our channel, the ideas you have in your head about what kind of adventures you could have there? They’re all exactly what you’ll get when you visit! Begin your adventure by walking along craggy cliffs, explore 8000-year old lava caves, and climb mountains while hoping for a glimpse at the Northern Lights.
It wouldn’t be a visit to Iceland without a few hot springs, right? Thankfully, on this itinerary, you’ll find more than a few. Deildartunguhver Hot Spring, the most powerful in Europe, provides the heating for every nearby village, and standing by it is the perfect way to warm up on a chilly Icelandic day. Can’t get enough of Iceland’s natural power? Wait until you see their geysirs.
Who says Iceland isn’t a beach destination? While you likely won’t be relaxing in a bathing suit, Iceland’s beaches are unique and eye catching. Enjoy a stroll along a pebble beach, or, for a truly Icelandic experience, check out one of the country’s world-famous black sand beaches!
No matter where you go in Iceland, it takes no time at all to fall in love with the country. From the friendly locals to the heart-pounding activities to bucket-list-worthy views like the Northern Lights and ancient glaciers, there isn’t a single part of this beautiful country that won’t amaze you. If you can’t wait a second longer to plan a trip to Iceland, check out this Itinerary and others like it over at TourRadar!

The Golden Circle of Iceland in winter
Have you ever heard of the Icelandic Golden Circle?
The Golden Circle consists of three destinations that can be reached on a single day trip from Reykjavík, even in the short but beautiful daylight of the sub-arctic winter. These three locations that have attracted travellers for centuries are 1) Gullfoss - the golden waterfall 2) Þingvellir, the site of parliament from 930 AD and also the epicentre of the constantly diverging Mid-Atlantic ridge, separating the tectonic plates each side of the North Atlantic Ocean, and 3) Geysir - the hot spring that all geysers take their name from, a site of immense geothermal power.
Visit guidetoiceland.is for more information about the Golden Circle and winter tours.

In the first episode of Iceland: Road Trip Of A Lifetime, we are going to explore the West Iceland & Snaefellsnes peninsula. This region is very close to Reykjavik & it is possible to do day trips from the capital as well.
We are exploring the beautiful lighthouses of Akranes, amazing Hraunfossar, mystical Deildarthungver, Ytri Tunga, tip of Snaefellsnes - Arnarstapi & the most photographed mountain in Iceland - Kirkjufell. It took us 2 complete days to see these 6 amazing attractions.

Iceland's Golden Circle: Travel Vlog with John
If you’ve been dreaming of visiting Iceland, the country’s south coast is pretty much everything you’ve been imagining! From ancient tunnels, to black sand beaches, to majestic glaciers, join us on this five-day tour of one of the most stunning parts of an already-breathtaking country with Arctic Adventures!
Day one of this incredible tour takes you back to a time of Arctic explorers, shipwrecks, and ancient volcanoes; you’ll be exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Wander along pebble beaches, take in the sight of the remains of a shipwreck, and explore lava caves formed over 8000 years ago.
Of course, wild sea adventure isn’t all that Iceland has to offer - there’s also the incredible natural power behind the country! Travel further west and visit the most powerful hot spring in Europe, which heats all of the neighbouring towns. Did you know that taking advantage of Iceland’s hot springs isn’t a modern idea? Visit a preserved Medieval bath and let yourself walk through viking history.
No trip to Iceland would ever be complete without touring the Golden Circle! Visit Thingvellir National Park, the place in which the European and North American tectonic plates converge - and you can see it for yourself. The UNESCO-listed park also marks the place of the world’s oldest parliament; here, Icelanders formed a government in the year 930!
One of the best parts of Iceland is the fact that every new site - every waterfall, glacier, geysir, or hot spring - is unique. No matter where you go and how long you spend in this country, you’ll continue to be amazed!
Are you ready to be amazed? If you can’t resist seeing this stunning country for yourself anymore, it may be time to start planning a visit of your own. Head over to TourRadar to check out this itinerary and many others, and start packing today!

24 Hours in Reykjavik - What to See and Do on a Layover in Iceland | 90+ Countries with 3 Kids
Welcome to Reykjavík Iceland!
With a 24-hour daylight in summer and more than 40 festivals, Reykjavik is the new city that never sleeps. The world's most northerly capital has a population of only 120,000, but what it lacks in people it makes up for in culture. Reykjavik is located on a peninsula shaped like a dragon's head and is tucked into a sheltered bay in south-west Iceland filled with dramatic views of the adjacent mountains across the water to the north.
Reykjavík's name is derived from the Icelandic words for smoke, reykur, and bay, vík. Legend says that in the year 874, Norseman Ingólfur Arnarson, who was in fact its first inhabitant, saw Iceland rising out of the misty sea and came ashore at a bay steamed by hot springs in the vicinity of present day Reykjavík. Today most of the houses in Reykjavík are heated by near-boiling water from the hot springs and because of this natural heating there is no air pollution. You may notice, however, that the hot water brings a slight sulfur smell to the bathroom. Ingólfur is honored with a statue on a small hill called Arnarhóll in the middle of Reykjavík.
The best way to explore Reykjavik in its full light is to experience Iceland's pure thermal energy and take a dip in one of Reykjavík's many thermal pools and spas! It’s a great source of natural therapy and an important part of Icelandic culture and a tonic for the body and mind!

Iceland In February- Northern lights, Waterfalls, Golden Circle, 6 months Pregnant

Ask as many questions as you would like in the comments below!
MAJOR TIP!
If you plan to visit Europe anytime soon Iceland Air is allowing free layovers in Iceland up to 7 days and then they will fly you to your Europe destination for the price of one ticket.
Unfortunately, we found this out after we booked our trip, but I was still able to find an awsome deal from California to Iceland and then Paris and back to California, for around $550.
In this video I am 6 months pregnant and I was able to do most things including the blue lagoon! The only thing I really wanted to do that we could not do was go on a snowmobile tour and hiking through the Ice caves...
We booked blue lagoon for 8am and our flight landed at 6:30Am...
We rented our car from
I would highly recommend them because they take a debit card and they do not have a deposit fee! Most rental companies want you to use a credit card and they can hold up to $500 for deposit!
We went in February to catch the northern lights! We only saw a glimpse of them, but it wasn’t bright enough. You have to know that northern lights are a hit or miss. Maybe if we stayed more than three days we would have had a better chance on another night.
Tip: Download maps.me and plan out your route! You can save datA and money by using the app instead of getting navigation system. I loved it! I would plan our day out ahead of time and then navigate to each destination. I use it everywhere I travel too. My phone barely worked out there, but you can use the maps offline, even on airplane mode. I’d suggest downloading the map when you have WiFi.
Ask me anything below....
