LONDON VLOG - DAY 4 (WESTMINSTER ABBEY, FISH & CHIPS, THE SHARD, GORDON'S WINE BAR) | 10-01-2019
Hey Everyone!! Join us in Day 4 of our London Vlog where you will join us in further exploring this stunning city!
We start our day in Whitstable where we catch a train into London Victoria train station, the very starting point of our adventures ahead. You'll then walk with us to Buckingham Palace where you'll get a quick glimpse of one of London's most popular tourist attractions.
You'll then join us as we walk past St James's park toward Westminster Abbey, before discovering Westminster Arms where we had fish & chips!! My first fish and chips in London :-)
I highly recommend visiting Westminster Arms if you are ever in the Buckingham Palace / Westminster Abbey area. The downstairs wine bar is really cozy and you'll love it :-) I'm not a wine drinker but I would definitely go back there for fish & chips and a red wine :-)
We continue on to Westminster Abbey, then to the Big Ben (the Elizabeth Tower). We struggled to find Big Ben at first (we even asked the police officer that pointed us in the opposite direction of
its actual location!) We had to get Google images of it so we could find nearby landmarks. It wasn't until we compared photos on our phone to the position of the fence that we noticed that Big Ben was covered in scaffolding! Only one clock face is visible!
We caught the Tube so we could arrive at The Shard at our booked time slot of 4 pm. Beforehand, we walked around the London Bridge.
We had coffee and red velvet cake at Ground Cafe (The Shard). That red velvet cake was incredible!! The Shard was also a great way to see all of the big attractions from a different perspective.
Afterwards, we ended our huge day of exploration at Gordon's Wine Bar- London's oldest wine bar. I was really blown away by the experience and highly recommend checking it out if you are ever visiting London. It was a very unique experience!

My Favorite Wine Bar in London
I’m in London at my favorite wine bar, Gordon’s Wine Bar. Just imagine dropping into this place — a five-minute walk from Trafalgar Square — for a candlelit evening of tasty cheese and port, sitting under 500-year-old arches.
You need good information to eat well, economically, and memorably in a city like London. My passion is to find places like Gordon’s Wine Bar and to pack them into my guidebooks (ricksteves.com/guidebooks). Hi guys,
This is my last and final vlog of our London trip. We explored a super cute chocolate-box village outside of London called Castle Combe, caught Tower Bridge during golden hour, and enjoyed wine and cheese at London's oldest wine bar, Gordon's. Our last day ended with a short picnic at the London Heathrow Airport before Tracy and I parted ways. London was amazing and I really hope to go back....when I'm a little bit more rich. lol.

Gordon's Haunted Wine Bar & The Ghosts Of Buckingham Street, London
Gordon's, a historic wine bar on Villier Street, once a regular haunt of author Rudyard Kipling.
Staff regular report ghostly goings on, from feeling like they are being watched from the a dark corner of the pub and customers have complained that they've been tapped on the shoulder by an unseen force, believed to be the spirit of a delivery boy who died falling down the stairs.
You don't have to go far to find another ghost, the adjoining building on Buckingham Street. Number 14 was the home of Victorian artist William Etty. He painted nudes in his home studio, which is now said to be haunted by a happy female ghost, the spirit of one of his models.

Shepherd Market Wine House Mayfair London
Shepherd market is a hidden gem in London’s Mayfair. Once renowned as an upmarket red light district. Today it has a village feel and is often called Mayfair village. It was the original site of the May Fair that gave its name to the whole area. It has a great choice of Shops, art galleries, Pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants. It doesn't appear very prominently in guide books or even on maps. We take a look around, check out the shops including the bank robber gallery, 5 Hertford Street and LouLou's Private members club. We review a wine bar called The Shepherd Market Wine House.
