Just out for a day hike and swim ????♂️ below the falls at Gorges State Park North Carolina. Hidden Falls is first, then Rainbow ???? Falls where the mist is always in the air so you can catch rainbows ???? everywhere. Next is Turtleback Falls where people come out and slide down into the pool below, this is up from rainbow falls so don’t let the water float you on down the stream because death ???? would be the result. I didn’t personally like watching people up top of rainbow falls as I was swimming below, it just didn’t look safe until I went up there, but I still had no need to look over the falls. The next waterfall is a private waterfall up from Turtleback Falls and there are a few campsites around Turtleback Falls and in between the private fall. The last waterfall on the video is Staircase Falls and I had supper here before hiking out and returning home ????. I also had to pick up trash that visitors left from there visit and carried it out and threw it away so that the park stays nice ???? so hey ???? litterbug, pack out what you pack in!

When the ski area was built 50 years ago, Austrian ski instructors were on site to teach and entertain skiers. “The Vordach”, Austrian/German for ‘The Canopy’, seemed a natural fit for this new amenity.
To continue with the ski area theme, the level of difficulty, or better stated, the level of thrill the zip runs provide are color coded Green, Blue and Black Diamond!

In late 2012, a three-part series on environmental issues facing North Carolina State Parks aired on the state's public television news and information program North Carolina Now.
The first part of the series examines how a temperate rain forest in Gorges State Park supports one of the most diverse ecosystems in the eastern United States. Patrick Mustain, a master's student in the Medical and Science Journalism Program, produced the piece with help from Dane Emmerling, a master's student in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Jeanne-Marie DeStefano, a master's student in the journalism school, wrote the script and shot additional video, along with Mustain.
