Hummer H3 Police Chase at High Speed
Hummer H3 Police Chase at High Speed
A car chase is the vehicular hot pursuit of suspects by law enforcers. The rise of the automotive industry in the 20th century increased car ownership, leading to a growing number of criminals attempting to evade police in their own vehicle or a stolen car. Car chases are often captured on news broadcast due to the video footage recorded by police cars and police and media helicopters participating in the chase. Car chases are also a popular subject with media and audiences due to their intensity, drama and the innate danger of high-speed driving.
Car chases occur when a suspect attempts to use a vehicle to escape from law enforcement attempting to detain or arrest him or her. The assumed offence committed may range from misdemeanours such as traffic infractions to felonies as serious as murder. When suspects realize they have been spotted by law enforcement, they attempt to lose their pursuer by driving away, sometimes at high speed. Generally, suspects whom police spot committing crimes for which long prison terms are likely upon conviction are much more likely to start car chases. In 2002, 700 pursuits were reported in the city of Los Angeles.[1]
Los Angeles television station KCAL reported a quadrupling of ratings when police pursuits aired.[2] Police officials have asked news media to reduce coverage of chases, claiming that they encourage suspects to flee and inciting gawkers to possibly get in the way of the pursuit, while the media responds that coverage of chases provides a public service and provide a deterrent to police brutality.[3]
Police use a number of techniques to end chases, from pleading with the driver, waiting for the driver's vehicle to run out of fuel, or hoping the driver's vehicle becomes somehow disabled to more forceful methods such as boxing in the vehicle with police cruisers, ramming the vehicle, the PIT maneuver, shooting out the tires, or the use of spike strips, though all efforts, many of which pose risk to all involved as well as bystanders, will be aimed at avoiding danger to civilians. When available, a helicopter may be employed, which in some cases, may follow the vehicle from above while ground units may or may not be involved. The StarChase system as of summer 2009 was in use by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.[4]
The February 2005 Macquarie Fields riots occurred in Sydney, Australia after a local driver crashed a stolen vehicle into a tree, killing his two passengers following a high-speed police pursuit. The death of university student Clea Rose following a police chase in Canberra sparked major recriminations over police pursuit policies. Ole Christian Bach was found shot and killed in Sweden in a presumed suicide after he had been followed in a car chase by Swedish undercover police.
Reality television has combined with the car chase genre in a number of television shows and specials featuring real footage, mostly taken from police cruisers and law enforcement or media helicopters of suspects fleeing police.
One notable, recorded police chase occurred when an M60 Patton tank was stolen by Shawn Nelson from an Army National Guard armory, on May 17, 1995. Nelson went on a rampage through San Diego, California, with the massive tank crushing multiple civilian vehicles before becoming stuck on a road divider. Police were able to get aboard the tank and open the hatch, killing the suspect when he would not surrender.
On June 4, 2004, welder Marvin Heemeyer went on a rampage in a heavily modified bulldozer in Granby, Colorado, wrecking 13 buildings including the town hall, the public library, a bank, a concrete batch plant, and a house owned by the town's former mayor, resulting in over $ 7 million in damage. The police were initially powerless, as none of their weapons could penetrate the suspect's vehicle. However, the bulldozer's engine failed and the machine became stuck, so Heemeyer committed suicide by gunshot.
On July 27, 2007, at exactly 12:46:20 p.m. MST in Phoenix, Arizona, two helicopters crashed in mid air. Both were AS-350 AStar helicopters from KNXV-TV (the area's ABC affiliate) and KTVK (an independent, but was the ABC affiliate until losing it to KNXV in 1995) news stations collided in mid-air above Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix, Arizona while covering a police pursuit.[5][6] Four people were killed: KTVK pilot Scott Bowerbank and photographer Jim Cox; and pilot Craig Smith and photographer Rick Krolak of KNXV.[7] No one on the ground was injured.[8]

*SLAYING SOME RAINBOWS* Ice fishing on Georgetown Lake, Colorado #5280adventures
On the first ice fishing trip of the 2018-2019 season, I hit up Georgetown Lake in Georgetown, Colorado to target trout. The lake is know to have stocker size and larger of rainbow, brown and brookies.
This trip turned out very well as I ice 20+ trout through the wind and cold and up through the clear, blue skies and warm sun. The ice was 6+ already in late November.

Backpacking Lone Eagle Peak and Crater Lake (2019)
Join D’n’A Ventures for their very first backpacking trip through the Indian Peaks Wilderness just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park, near the town of Granby, Colorado. This hike is rated as difficult and will require a 14.9 round trip hike up 2,000 ft. in elevation through a massive valley to pristine backcountry. Starting from the Monarch Lake Trailhead, we hike up for 7.3 miles passing a raging waterfall called Cascade Falls. Eventually we reach the alpine lakes of Mirror and Crater Lake that sit under the infamous Lone Eagle Peak and Mt. Achonee of the Continental Divide. Lone Eagle Peak is a jagged mountain with and epic and iconic look to it. Lone Eagle Peak sits at an elevation of 11,920 feet in elevation and its majestic beauty is reflected in Mirror and Crater Lakes that lie beneath it. Hiking around Crater and Mirror Lake in the summer provides a myriad of opportunities to see countless waterfalls, unique wildlife and endless blooms of wildflowers. This place is serene and the effort require to get up there is met with a massive payoff. Crater Lake sits in a huge bowl under steep snow covered cliffs of a cirque. The stillness of the alpine lakes, the silence of the backcountry, and a vivid gaze into the Milky Way are sure to leave a lasting impact all who journey to this special place. Permits for backcountry sites are in high demand and challenging to acquire during the summer and fall months, plan ahead to reserve a campsite. Fires are not allowed in the backcountry, all water taken from the site should be filtered, and leave no trace policies should be followed to help persevere this amazing place for future generations. Unfortunately on our first backpacking trip ever, D’n’A Ventures made the rookie mistake of carrying way too much gear in our backpacks. It’s important to not make this mistake and try to bring only the bear necessities. Your back, neck, and shoulders will thank you. Since D’n’A Ventures has a little experience backpacking now if you want to us make videos covering this topic more thoroughly please comment down below. Overall this was the backpacking trip of a life time, we feel so fortunate we were able to experience this fantastic place. We want to take this opportunity to thank our dear friends who organized and planned this backpacking adventure, we are super grateful you included us in the journey as well as, providing excellent backpacking tips pre and post trip. Thanks homies.

Real World Resistance (KillDozer Mirror)
Never fuck with an angry American......
52 year old welder Marvin Heemeyer lived in Grunbee Colorado fixing vehicle mufflers. His small repair shop was located near a concrete factory called Mountain Park. To Marvin and his neigbors' horrors, the owners of Mountain Park decided to expand the factory, forcing the people living near-by to sell their land to Mountain Park.
Sooner or later the factory's neigbhors gave up, except for Marvin. Having tried every way possible, the owners of the factory failed to acquire his land. However all the surrounding land was now owned by the factory, which resulted in Marvin's shop getting cut off from the rest of the world.
Marvin tried everything in his powers to restore justice. Obsiously, the city council and other politicians of the state were on the factory owners' evil capitalist side.
It's not suprising that Marvin lost the case to the owners, in court. After that Marvin was also given a $2500 fine for not having a connected sewer line. When paying the fine, Marvin attached a note to the check and ticket that read Cowards.
He was just one of those who would not give up.
On the 4th of June, 2004 during a rainy day Marvin rolled out into town on a bulldozer reinforced with metal sheets. He started with the concrete factory, destroying building after building, until the factory was demolished. Then it was the city council's turn followed by the town hall, then the bank, the public library, the fire station, a warehouse, the local paper and other buildings belonging to the mayor.
Having tried to stop Heemeyer, the police finally understood that Marvin's bulldozer was unstoppable. More than 200 bullets were fired at the vehicle, causing no harm at all. The police force then decided to battle the titan with hand grenades. Once again their efforts were useless. Later a vehicle rigged with explosives was put in Marvin's path to destruction, it also had little luck in stopping him.
Marvin returned fire using two semi-automatic .23 caliber rifles and a single .50 caliber semi-automatic rifle through specially designed holes in the vehicle's front, left and right sides.
All the police were able to do, was evacuate 1500 inhabitants (the town's population was 2200) and block all the roads, including a federal highway that lead to the town.
Marvin's war ended at 4:23 PM.
Having just finished destroying the Gambles Mall, the bulldozer suddenly stopped. The only thing that could be heard comming form Marvins death machine was smoke out of a damaged radiator.
At first the police officers were too afraid to approach the thing. Trying to get Marvin out of his fortress, they had to make a hole in the armor. When they finally got through, Marvin was already dead. He wasn't going to get into the enemy's hands alive.
Despite the great damage to property (13 buildings were destroyed, most requiring hundreds of thousands of dollars to be replaced), no one besides Heemeyer was injured; observers noted that Heemeyer appeared to go out of his way to avoid injury to bystanders.
The governor said that the city looked as if a tornado had just gone through.
Later an investigation was carried out. It was discovered that Marvin's creation was so strong that even a powerful artillery blow would only cause minor damage. The bulldozer was totally covered in sheet metal, with each piece being at least half an inch thick. In places, the vehicle's armor was over one foot thick, consisting of concrete sandwiched between sheets of steel to make ad-hoc composite armor.
To fit the bulldozer with this shell, Marvin had to use a self-made crane. Lowering the protective armor onto the vehicle, Marvin knew he wouldn't be able to get out- said police officials.
Although Marvin packed the interior with supplies such as water, food, ammo and a gasmask. To control the killdozer, Marvin used 3 monitors and a couple of video cameras. In an event of the cameras being blinded by dust, they were fitted with air compressors.
It took Marvin 2 months to design the Killdozer, and according to sources, 1.5 years to build it.
He was a fine lad, - said the people that were close to Marvin. They shouldn't have made him angry. If he was your friend, he was your best friend. And if he was your enemy, well he was your worst and most dangerous enemy. - said Marvins friends.
