00:00-00:19
- Hi, everyone, this is Maria from travelguidelisbon.com, and this video is about the hop-on hop-off bus tours in Lisbon. I'm going to talk about which one is the best option, the prices and schedules, and what the tour includes and what it covers.
00:29-00:43
- Now, there are plenty of companies offering hop-on hop-off bus services in Lisbon. The two most popular ones are the Yellow Bus Company and the City Sightseeing Company. That is the one with the big red buses.
The Yellow Bus Company 00:49-01:21
- First, I'm going to describe the Yellow Bus Company simply because that's my favorite choice. I think they offer the best value for your money.
- Now, the Yellow Bus Company, it uses big yellow double-decker open-top buses, where you can listen to the commentary in 12 different languages. The Yellow Bus Company has two main routes in winter, and three routes in summer season. (...)
The Yellow Bus Tagus Route 01:26-02:06
- So the three routes of the Yellow Bus are the Tagus route, the Olisipo route and the Belem route. Now I would start with the Tagus route, because that's the one which starts in the old historic city center of Lisbon and covering all the main attractions there and then it drives off to the Belem district and covers all the main attractions there, such as the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery.(...)
The Yellow Bus The Olisipo Tour 02:11-03:05
- The Olisipo tour is the route which also starts in the old historic city center of Lisbon but then it drives off to a different direction to a district called Parque das Nações. This is a modern area of Lisbon which was built for the '98 World Exposition which was held in Lisbon and this area is also packed with some top attractions such as the Lisbon Oceanarium or The Vasco da Gama Bridge but you will also find here, cable car, The Pavilion of Knowledge or it also stops at the Azulejos Museum on the way here (...)
The Yellow Bus Duration 03:06-03:26
- The duration of the Olisipo and the Tagus route is more or less one hour, forty minutes (...)
The Yellow Bus Belem Summer Route 03:28-04:30
- The third route of the Yellow Bus Company is called the Belem route. Well, this one runs only in summer season, and this is a complimentary tour to the Tagus route. Because this is a tour of Belém, so it's a little bit more detailed tour of Belém not only on the waterfront, but if you go all around behind the buildings and smaller streets, it will stop at the Maritime Museum or the National Museum of Coches and such places (...)
The Yellow Bus What is included 04:35-05:31
- So how much does it cost with the Yellow Bus Company? So the ticket costs 22 euros 50 for an adult (...) So the price of 22 Euros 50 cents includes 48 hours of hop-on hop-off bus services, the Santa Justa Elevator, The funiculars and trams of Lisbon, that includes the famous Tram 28, which is the sightseeing tram of Lisbon, and funiculars, as well, such as the Gloria funicular. Then the price also includes Aerobus ticket (...)
City Sightseeing Bus (Red Bus) 05:37-05:51
- The second company I'm going to talk about is the City Sightseeing Company. That's the one which are using the big red buses. They are also double-decker and up on top where you can listen to the commentary in 12 different languages.
City Sightseeing Bus The Blue and Red Lines 05:57-06:58
- They have two routes, the blue line and the red line. The red line is the one which explores the old historic city center of Lisbon, and then it drives off to Belém and explore the Belém and all the main attractions there. (...)
- The Blue Line is the one that also starts in the city center, but then it drives off to Parque das Nacoes to explore that area and its attractions. (...)
City Sightseeing Bus Price 07:03-07:30
- So how much does it costs? Well a ticket for an adult costs 22 Euros in the winter season (...). But this price is for 24 hours, so this ticket is for one day only.
City Sightseeing Bus 25% Discount Lisban Card 07:35-07:47
- If you have the Lisboa Card, you will receive 25% discount on the price of the hop-on hop-off buses of the red buses, from the City Sightseeing Company ticket.
A few last tips 07:52-08:20
- So that's about it for today. Please visit our website travelguidelisbon.com where I have also prepared a comparison table for you between the Yellow Bus and the City Sightseeing bus company, where you can compare them (...)
Sightseeing Tours Lisboa | Yellow Bus Tours
Do you want to make a tour in Lisbon? Said to be built on 7 hills, Lisbon is an amphitheatre that looks down onto the Tagus, the river it has always depended on. There's history oozing out of its romantic avenues, old Moorish quarters, Roman underpinnings and Manueline, Baroque and Gothic monuments.
This is a cosmopolitan center of commerce that will appeal to your senses and to your gourmet instincts. It is a palette of colors where the sun shines the whole year round (almost!).

Portugal 2009-Discoveries Monument
We took a tour of Lisbon by a private car - it was expensive. I recommend Gray Line tours. Discoveries Monument, built in commemoration of D. Henrique o Navegante. We also visited the church at the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos - it was very crowded because of some cruise ships. The church can be seen from the monument of discoveries.

PORTO, LISBON, AND A LITTLE BIG BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!
Next stop: Portugal! Porto was first the stop, impressing Leanne with its tiled walls, one hella sexy bridge, the almighty francesinha, and a sunset to die for. Lisbon came next, and was all about the little custard pies and those incredible views from the castle! Sintra turned out to be the place of dreams and much time was spent pretending to be back in time. Then it was on the way to Madrid, where Leanne had a little surprise for her birthday on their last coach trip of the trip!

Lisbon Part 6 Hop on Hop Off Tour
A great way to get around to all the sights in Lisbon is to use one of the hop-on hop-off tour buses. These busses go to all the sights, provide commentary (with earphones you can keep) in multiple languages and the greatest part is, you can get off the bus, visit as long as you like and simply catch the next bus to the next sight. Tickets are good for 24 or 48 hours and are very economical. There a numerous lines also depending on what you want to visit.

Lisbon Portugal Travel, Getting Around on a Tuk Tuk
What is a tuk tuk? Tuk Tuks are one of the many ways to get around when traveling to Lisbon Portugal and see what they are in this video. Luckily my first tuk tuk ride was great with an awesome guide who taught us some history, facts and helpful information about Lisbon during our drive. We were led up hills to the Castle St. Jorge which I will show more of in the next video.
At Rossio Square (as shown in the video), you have lots of transportation options including bus, metro, tram, tuk tuks, taxis and you can even buy tours from kiosks that are in the plaza outside. The hop on and hop off bus tickets can be purchased here too. It is a good starting point if wondering where to start your sight seeing in Lisbon.
