Somers Point / Linwood Bike Path - New Jersey
This path is located right outside of Ocean City, New Jersey. I did not know what to expect from this path but I was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful, well maintained path.
I did not complete the whole trail, I turned around at Tilton Road to return to Ocean City. But, I do plan on riding this path again.
After I got home I did some research on this path and found this great description of it on Trailink.com:
This is a true community trail: four small cities are tied together by this 6.5-mile corridor, each maintaining their short section and calling it a different name. Starting in Somers Point, a few blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, a large, bright sign welcomes you to the SOMERS POINT BICYCLE PATH. The trail then heads north through Linwood, Northfield and Pleasantville. Atlantic City is about a dozen miles northeast, and the area leans toward an urban setting. Frequent street crossings require caution.
Most of the trail travels through residential neighborhoods and the schools, parks and playing fields in between. Students use the path as a safe walking route between home and school. Residents of the trail's neighborhoods frequently walk it for exercise or take their babies for a ride along in strollers. Lightly traveled neighborhood roads—and busier Shore Road to the east—parallel much of the bike path, so a meal is never far away. A few short wooded sections provide a change of pace from the residential neighborhoods that make up most of the path's viewscape.
12 year old boy from New Jersey shows Tiger Woods how its done
A Brush With Great(e)ness
12-year-old Mark Benevento, Jr. of Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point, New Jersey impresses Tiger Woods by striping two tee shots
For more than a decade, Tiger Woods has been wowing golf fans with one amazing performance after another, staking his claim as the greatest golfer in history. Recently, it was Tiger's turn to be impressedby 12-year-old Somers Point resident Mark Benevento, Jr., son of Greate Bay Country Club owner Mark Benevento.
Mark, Jr., a 7th grader who regularly shoots in the high 70's, traveled to The Cliffs at High Carolina at the end of September with his father and fellow Greate Bay CC owner Pat Croce to hear Tiger Woods discuss his first-ever golf course design in the United States at The Cliffs, which is currently under development. Part of the event involved Woods hitting a couple of ceremonial tee shots on one of the soon-to-be-finished holes.
His first tee shot sailed straight down the middle, but when Tiger teed it up again and swung, he pushed the ball right into the trees. He tried another one with the same result. At that point, Tiger turned to the invited guests and asked if anyone could pull off the shot that he was clearly struggling with. Mark, Jr. raised his hand and Tiger waved him over.
Tiger handed Mark a driver. Mark swung and the ball soared straight down the middle about 200 yards. Tiger said, Let me see you do that again. So Mark hit another, and once again striped it right down the middle.
For Mark, Jr., it was a thrill of a lifetime. For Tiger, let's just say he was more than a little impressed.
Engagement Lorie & Josh Ocean City, NJ
Lorie & Josh are another couple that loves Ocean City. They were great during the session and very easy-going. It was extremely crowded on the boardwalk that night. We were unable to go on any rides because the lines were insanely long. The final moonlit shot of the evening was beautiful and it was funny because one of the places on the boardwalk was blasting 90s club music directly where they were standing. They are getting married next June at Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, NJ.

Rhode Island is the smallest in area, the eighth least populous, but the second most densely populated of the 50 US states behind New Jersey. The 1960s were a time of turmoil and unrest. Some protested or fled the country, others enlisted in the armed forces and were sent overseas. Some never came home. Unpack the ways the war shaped a generation of Americans and affected the Brown community in a thought-provoking discussion with a panel of alumni experts and service members. Learn how the war affected the entire Brown community a half-century ago and how it continues to shape the lives of Brunonians today.

Subways Are for Sleeping / Only Johnny Knows / Colloquy 2: A Dissertation on Love
Subways Are for Sleeping is a musical with a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Jule Styne. The original Broadway production played in 1961-62.
The musical was inspired by an article about subway homelessness in the March 1956 issue of Harper's and a subsequent 1957 book based on it, both by Edmund G. Love, who slept on subway trains throughout the 1950s and encountered many unique individuals. With the profits from his book, Love then embarked on a bizarre hobby: over the course of several years, he ate dinner at every restaurant listed in the Manhattan yellow pages directory, visiting them in alphabetical order.
After two previews, the Broadway production, directed and choreographed by Michael Kidd, opened on December 27, 1961 at the St. James Theatre, where it ran for 205 performances. The cast included Orson Bean, Sydney Chaplin, Carol Lawrence, Gordon Connell, Grayson Hall, and Green's wife Phyllis Newman (whose costume, consisting solely of a towel, was probably Freddy Wittop's easiest design in his distinguished career), with newcomers Michael Bennett and Valerie Harper in the chorus.
Subways Are for Sleeping opened to mostly negative reviews. The show already was hampered by a lack of publicity, since the New York City Transit Authority refused to post advertisements on the city's buses and in subway trains and stations for fear they would be perceived as officially sanctioning the right of vagrants to use these facilities as overnight accommodations. Producer David Merrick and press agent Harvey Sabinson decided to invite individuals with the same names as prominent theatre critics (such as Walter Kerr, Richard Watts, Jr. and Howard Taubman) to see the show and afterwards used their favorable comments in print ads. Thanks to photographs of the seven critics accompanying their blurbs (the well-known real Richard Watts was not African American), the ad was discovered to be a deception by a copy editor. It was pulled from most newspapers, but not before running in an early edition of the New York Herald Tribune. However, the clever publicity stunt allowed the musical to continue to run and it eventually turned a small profit.
Newman won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and nominations went to Bean for Best Featured Actor and Kidd's choreography.

Calling All Cars: Body on the Promenade Deck / The Missing Guns / The Man with Iron Pipes
The radio show Calling All Cars hired LAPD radio dispacher Jesse Rosenquist to be the voice of the dispatcher. Rosenquist was already famous because home radios could tune into early police radio frequencies. As the first police radio dispatcher presented to the public ear, his was the voice that actors went to when called upon for a radio dispatcher role.
The iconic television series Dragnet, with LAPD Detective Joe Friday as the primary character, was the first major media representation of the department. Real LAPD operations inspired Jack Webb to create the series and close cooperation with department officers let him make it as realistic as possible, including authentic police equipment and sound recording on-site at the police station.
Due to Dragnet's popularity, LAPD Chief Parker became, after J. Edgar Hoover, the most well known and respected law enforcement official in the nation. In the 1960s, when the LAPD under Chief Thomas Reddin expanded its community relations division and began efforts to reach out to the African-American community, Dragnet followed suit with more emphasis on internal affairs and community policing than solving crimes, the show's previous mainstay.
Several prominent representations of the LAPD and its officers in television and film include Adam-12, Blue Streak, Blue Thunder, Boomtown, The Closer, Colors, Crash, Columbo, Dark Blue, Die Hard, End of Watch, Heat, Hollywood Homicide, Hunter, Internal Affairs, Jackie Brown, L.A. Confidential, Lakeview Terrace, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Life, Numb3rs, The Shield, Southland, Speed, Street Kings, SWAT, Training Day and the Lethal Weapon, Rush Hour and Terminator film series. The LAPD is also featured in the video games Midnight Club II, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, L.A. Noire and Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
The LAPD has also been the subject of numerous novels. Elizabeth Linington used the department as her backdrop in three different series written under three different names, perhaps the most popular being those novel featuring Det. Lt. Luis Mendoza, who was introduced in the Edgar-nominated Case Pending. Joseph Wambaugh, the son of a Pittsburgh policeman, spent fourteen years in the department, using his background to write novels with authentic fictional depictions of life in the LAPD. Wambaugh also created the Emmy-winning TV anthology series Police Story. Wambaugh was also a major influence on James Ellroy, who wrote several novels about the Department set during the 1940s and 1950s, the most famous of which are probably The Black Dahlia, fictionalizing the LAPD's most famous cold case, and L.A. Confidential, which was made into a film of the same name. Both the novel and the film chronicled mass-murder and corruption inside and outside the force during the Parker era. Critic Roger Ebert indicates that the film's characters (from the 1950s) represent the choices ahead for the LAPD: assisting Hollywood limelight, aggressive policing with relaxed ethics, and a straight arrow approach.
