An extraordinary window on to the heart of cosmopolitan Shanghai over a hundred years ago - a true melting pot of cultures. Today the city's main shopping hub, Nanjing Road is here bustling with crowds of Chinese and Europeans and patrolled by Sikhs who made up an important part of the international police force. It is the only known surviving example of the film reportage shot by British war correspondent Joe Rosenthal during his coverage of the Boxer Rebellion in China between 1900 and 1901.

唐山风光--浪漫婚礼 Tangshan China
Welcome to Tangshan 美丽唐山
唐山地处渤海湾中心地带。位于河北省东部,因位于其中部的大城山(原名唐山)而得名,李世民念其爱妃,山赐唐姓,唐山由此而得名。

Awesome Maglev Train - Shanghai Pudong Airport - Longyang Road Station, China
I love this Train!
In this video I started in Longyang Road Metro Station, near the International Exposition Center, and terminate at Shanghai International Airport.
This is just a quick video of one of my favorite trains in the entire world. I still love the out dated, slow, noisy trains in Thailand and Malaysia that have tons of character, but this technological wonder is in entirely different class. Riding in it almost makes you feel as though it could just lift off the ground and Fly to your destination... and in a sense you are.
This train runs between the Longyang Road Metro Station, Huamu, Pudong and the Shanghai, Pudong International airport. At the LongYang station you can easily walk to the Shanghai, China, International Exposition Center, or walk accross a small walking alley to the SMT (Shanghai's very modern Metro - Subway system).
At various times of the day the train's run speeds are regulated at different velocities. This trip was of the slower 300kph runs. At other times of the day it travels at 430kph. The Maximum/Record speed for this train is 501 kph.
At any of these speeds it definately cuts down the travel time to and from the airport and is worth the price just to say you travelled on it.
Tangshan Hot Spring
An hour drive east of downtown, Tangshan produces some of the best hot springs in China. Called “soup mountain” in Chinese, the 292-meter hill is a gigantic natural tub for thermal mineral waters. The source of healing vapors and waters, Tangshan Hot Spring has welcomed emperors, high officials, and local citizens for centuries to cure skin diseases, arthritis, neuralgia and many other ailments. Locals tout the benefits of the odorless water, which contains calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium and averages between 50°C-60°C (122°F-140°F). Today, a modern resort is being developed adjacent to the springs. In Nanjing's ancient city walls the Tangshan Hot Spring bubble up amidst pleasant surroundings.

China Trip 2009 - Part 1: Justin and Kevin go to Shanghai
In the fall of 2009 I took a quick 10 day tour of Shanghai and some of its surrounding cities. This video shows some of what happened on days 1-3.
After a long flight we found our tour and checked into the Lexington. The next day we saw Nanjing road (the busiest road in Shanghai) , the 2010 Expo Hall and then headed to Hangzhou. When we got there we went to the Leifeng Pagoda on the West Lake. That area is considered one of the most beautiful places in China.
Shot with my nifty Canon SD960. Pictures from the trip can be found here:
