It was 3rd odi of India vs Pakistan 2007 odi series and Kanpur was ready for a high voltage Indo-Pak rivalry.
The series was 1-1 and Pakistan got momentum by beating India while chasing 300+ target successfully in last odi.
Meanwhile India was determined to be back on the winning track.
Pakistan won the toss and surprisingly elected to field first.Indian openers gave India up to a flying start.
Opener Sourav Ganguly scored 39 runs.Sachin made 29 and Gambhir made 25.
Apart from that Yuvraj Singh played brilliantly and scored a superb 77 runs.Indian captain MS Dhoni made 49 and lower order batsmen also contributed.It was like a team effort.Everybody played their part.
Pakistani bowlers failed to impress.Tanvir and Rehman took 2 wickets each.
India posted target of 295 near Pakistan.
Pakistani opener Salman Butt played a gem of his life.It was a n awesome batting display by Butt.He scored 129 runs.
But other Pakistani batsmen failed to impress with bat and no one could give Butt a support.So as a result when Butt was dismissed in 46.5 overs Pakistan was all out for just 248 runs in 47.2 overs.India outplayed Pakistan and beat them by 47 runs.
Indian bowlers were very impressive.Specially RP Singh took 3 wickets.
It was indeed one of the the best India-Pakistan match ever.
