Wisdom Teeth Removal in Tucson AZ: Alicia | Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons
Wisdom Teeth Removal in Tucson AZ: Alicia | Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons -
If you need wisdom teeth removed, Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in Tucson, AZ, can help. Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars to grow in the mouth. They usually finish growing in during your teens or early twenties, after all of the other adult teeth have developed. Wisdom teeth are positioned at the very back of the mouth. If there is not enough space behind the second molars, wisdom teeth can become trapped beneath the gums. There usually isn’t enough space for wisdom teeth to grow into a healthy position, which is why most people must visit an oral surgeon to have their wisdom teeth extracted.
Dr. Robert S. Wood has been an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for over 30 years. He is board-certified and practices the full scope of oral surgery, including dental implants, jaw surgery, wisdom teeth, dental extractions, and more. After completing his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University, he decided to pursue his dental degree at The University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He earned his dental degree in 1980. He completed an internship and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he gained invaluable hands-on experience working with patients in a hospital environment.
Dr. Nicholas Coles is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has been practicing for over 10 years. He decided to pursue oral surgery after being exposed to dentistry through his family. He attended Utah State University for his undergraduate studies. After his undergraduate studies, he attended Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, where he graduated in 2007. Dr. Coles finished a four-year oral and maxillofacial residency program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. This hands-on oral surgery training program gave him real-world experience working with patients and performing procedures. After completing his residency program in 2012, he began practicing with Dr. Wood at Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
