Greenville SC High Speed Chase (March 02, 2015) WSPA
A man is in custody and a woman is in the hospital after a high-speed chase that crossed three counties in the Upstate.
Sheila Cole with Anderson Co. Sheriff's office says they got a Be On The Look Out from Oconee Co. Monday morning for a white truck in connection with an armed robbery.
Deputies spotted the truck around 2:35 p.m. this afternoon and deputies starting attempting to stop the vehicle.
Anderson Co. Sheriff Skipper says the chase suspect, Adam Martin was shooting during the chase. The sheriff believes Martin was shooting at the tires of an 18 wheeler to cause it to crash.
At one point the truck was ran into the median. It briefly was running in reverse on the interstate.
The truck finally stopped at the Clinton Exit in Laurens Co. after being hit multiple times.
Sheriff Skipper says once the crash happened, the driver held a gun to his head as he was in a standoff with police.
Laurens Co. Sheriff Ricky Chastain says one non-law enforcement vehicle was hit at the off ramp at Exit 2.
That person was airlifted to the hospital.
According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Martin was charged with second degree burglary in April of 2011 and charged with grand larceny in May of 2011.
Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper said that the chase began as the result of an armed robbery at a home in West Union Monday morning.
Jimmy Watt, with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office said Adam Martin was wanted in connection with the armed robbery.
Deputies said Martin had gone to the home of a couple on Murphree Drive in West Union in Oconee County at about 11:15 a.m. to do some yard work. The couple told deputies that Martin asked to speak with them in their living room. They said Martin told them that they were good people and that he was not stable. He then pulled out a handgun and asked for their valuables, according to the couple.
The couple said Martin then took about $500 in cash, a box of jewelry. They said he also took all their cellphones and vehicle keys, but he left those items at the bottom of their driveway at their request.
Warrants were signed against Martin, who is from Clemson, for two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping and one count of possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime.
Skipper confirmed that Martin was driving the truck that officers pursued into Laurens County.
Skipper said an Anderson County deputy spotted a white Nissan pickup truck matching the description of the one Oconee County was searching for in connection to the robbery.
The deputy said as he pursued the truck, the driver fired shots out of the truck.
Skipper is asking anyone who may have damage from the shots that were fired to call the Sheriff's Office.

MCKAMEY MANOR Presents Christina B. (Round Two)
This is the 2nd time Christina has taken the MM tour. This film is more of a documentary look at her experience, and not the typical fast paced account. You'll see expanded footage of the Pick-Up zone for example that will explain a lot of things that people are concerned about. Normally I don't show the behind the scenes secrets, but for this film I did. You'll also notice not a lot of edits in certain parts of the film, just extended single shots. Again, this is more of a documentary look at her time here at MCKAMEY MANOR.
Texas A&M Shooting | *Former* Suspect Brandon Ray Gonzalez | Police Lied, Greenvillie / Hunt County
Brandon Gonzales moved halfway across the country last weekend, leaving behind his three young children, his girlfriend and the town he grew up in. He hopes the distance will let him escape the unwanted notoriety he gained after authorities mistakenly accused him of killing two party goers in a mass shooting outside Greenville last month. - Dallas News
Gonzales, 23, said he just wants to work. But when he went to an interview Monday for a job at a warehouse in Florida, he said, the interviewer told him: Let’s wait a year to let this settle down.

North Texas Big Rig Police Chase (January 13, 2016)
the man behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler that led authorities on a pursuit through several North Texas counties Wednesday was the trucker assigned to drive that big rig.
But the company that owns the truck told police that driver, identified as 60-year-old David Allen Arnold, was more than 1,000 miles where he was supposed to be.
The pursuit began when a Kaufman County state trooper ran a license plate check and the plate came back stolen because more than a day prior, the shipping company told police they couldn't find the truck or the man hired to drive it.
Pulling a trailer full of produce, Arnold rolled through three counties with police chasing behind.
Driver Arrested After Truck Chase, Standoff
The company that owns the 18-wheeler reported it stolen, telling police the driver was more than 30 hours overdue for a delivery in Maryland.
For a still undetermined reason, the driver of the truck made the decision to not stop for our trooper and continued towards Dallas, said Sgt. Lonny Haschel, with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A transportation industry source tells the driver had also stopped responding to calls from the shipping company.
What's unclear is why.
Haschel said he was not aware if the driver was providing any answers to investigators.
Troopers said Arnold is from Virginia, where state court records show a David Arnold with the same date of birth was convicted of stealing a car almost 20 years ago.
In 1998 he was ordered to serve six years probation for taking a Nissan along with some property from the man who owned the car.
Now, Arnold is accused of making off with a much larger set of wheels.
Two different companies own the tractor and the trailer. Management of those companies did not immediately respond to our calls for comment.
A dispatcher at the company that owns the tractor told Wednesday everyone was tied up dealing with the situation.
Fortunately, the pursuit and ensuing standoff with police ended with no one hurt.
The dog that was riding in the tractor trailer involved the pursuit is safe and was taken to the Greenville Animal Control Shelter.

Oakwood Cemetery, Tyler's Oldest Cemetery. Texas
Originally called Lollar's Cemetery and later City Cemetery, this burial ground was located on land purchased by John Lollar in 1846. Five acres were reserved for cemetery use when Lollar sold his land to John Madison Patterson in 1849. Burials began in the 1940s, but many early gravestones have been lost. The oldest marked grave is that of four-year-old P.M. Scott, who died in 1852. The graves of numerous Confederate soldiers, who died in the Civil War (1861-1865), are situated in a raised section east of Central Drive. In another separate portion is the Jewish Beth-El Cemetery where the oldest grave is that of 19-year-old Rachel Wolinsky, who died in 1884.
In 1903, additional land was acquired and the cemetery renamed Oakwood. City officials hired William A. Woldert (1885-1937) to map the grounds, locate old graves, and lay out more walkways. Further improvements were made by WPA labor in the 1930s, when Oakwood was again enlarged. By the 1970s, the burial ground contained 19.5 acres with over 2,000 marked graves.
Many of Tyler's most prominent citizens are buried here, including Judge Stockton P. Donley (1821-1971), Texas Supreme Court Justice, and Governor Richard B. Hubbard (1832-1901), who also served as U.S. Ambassador to Japan.
Inside Juvenile Detention
As recently as 2005, the state of Virginia had eight centers like Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Facility, housing more than 1,300 delinquent youth. But by 2017, after a series of reforms, that number had shrunk to one.
“It's not that you can't do good work here,” said Andy Block, who, since 2014, has served as the juvenile-justice department’s director. “But the place itself and the design and the size and the location are barriers to doing good work.” Block and others are working to close Bon Air and replace it with something that reflects the juvenile justice reforms that have taken hold in Virginia and across the country—a system that once focused on confinement is now dedicated to rehabilitation. In recent years, more than 70 percent of Virginia's juvenile inmates were rearrested within three years of their release.*
Read more on The Atlantic:
*This documentary originally stated that Virginia has one of the highest recidivism rates in the country. This characterization was based on incomplete data. The documentary also stated that the three-year rearrest rate for current Bon Air inmates would be 74 percent. This was the rate for former juvenile inmates in Virginia in 2014. We regret the errors.
