Pupils at All Saints' School in Gresford arrived at school on Monday April 1st, to find a spaceship on their field - but it was there in the name of problem solving rather than as an elaborate hoax or April Fool's Day prank.
The whole school is doing a two-week project based on aliens & Andy Snowden from Wrexhams 105 Calon FM went to the school to find out more.

Led by Jonathan Waters, The 2016 Dublin Youth Brass Band performs the hymn Gresford, immediately followed by the Bowburn March into which composer Ray Farr incorporated the hymn as tribute to both the English village of Bowburn and to the lives lost in the Gresford mining disaster of 1934. Recorded May 15, 2016 at Dublin (OH) Coffman High School.

8mm film (no sound) of a visit to Gresford Colliery on 21/11/70 to see a newly overhauled steam loco being unveiled. Stored locos include 'Richborough' and 'The Welshman'.
'Richborough' is now in working order at the Aln Valley Railway and 'The Welshman' is undergoing restoration at Barrow Hill.

Prince of Wales Inspects Bells To Be Rung at Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
The Prince of Wales visited Whitechapel Bell Foundry on Tuesday (May 15) to view the Royal Jubilee Bells.
The eight bells will play a significant role in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant on June 3, where they'll be rung from a floating bellfry.
The bells are named after the most senior Members of the Royal Family - The Queen (Elizabeth), The Duke of Edinburgh (Philip), The Prince of Wales (Charles), The Princess Royal (Anne), The Duke of York (Andrew), The Earl of Wessex (Edward), The Duke of Cambridge (William) and Prince Harry (Harry).
The Belfry barge, with eight bell ringers on board, will lead 1,000 boats from Battersea Bridge to Tower Bridge at the start of the pageant. As the Diamond Jubilee bells ring out from their floating platform, churches along the route and across the country will answer with peals of their own.
At the factory, in London's East End, The Prince of Wales viewed all eight finished bells and struck his own bell, the 'Charles' bell - a smaller version of the largest bell - 'The Elizabeth' bell, which weighs half a ton.

Ringing at St Giles, Wrexham, North Wales
Grandsire Caters and Yorkshire Royal at Wrexham, on a Staffordshire outing with lots of hangers on from elsewhere. These are a fine old Rudhall 10 restored in 1955 by Taylors. Wrexham tower is one of the finest anywhere and considered one of the 'Seven Wonders of Wales' along with the bells of Gresford. There is a replica of the tower at Yale University in the United States - Elihu Yale, a founder of the university, is buried in the churchyard here at St Giles.

Dartmouth Bell Ringing Final (Sept 17 2016)
These church bells were ringing all afternoon.
It couldn't have been for a wedding.
It was for a bell ringing competition: the Devon Association 8 Bell Final in St Saviour church.
I'm filming the Chagford Ringers let rip. Sounded pretty good to me. Made me go swirly giddy with delight.
Don't know if they won though.
