Part 2 of the ride and time to hit some climbs. Right from the beginning. And then through much of the first half of the movie. And along a very busy, major road (Smederevski put Rd). But all is not lost. Yes it's hard and yes it's very stressful, but it is also very beautiful, with some amazing sightseeing spots!
And once I take you off the road, through orchards, it will take all the stress away from you. Beautiful nature, no cars (driving) and amazing views over the area, the Danube and much of Vojvodina region. And then, there are the descends! Short ones, but quite amazing. Until I reach the Danube once again.
Special greeting goes to: fruit farmers in Belgrade area. I really do hope they will keep producing natural and authentic, high quality fruits we are used to and like.

베오그라드에서 한 시간 거리에 있는 농촌을 찾았다. 이 마을에서는 살구가 많이 생산되는데 내가 찾아 간 날, 마침 살구 축제가 열리고 있었다. 꼬마 커플의 표정이 사뭇 진지하다. 마을에서 공연이 모두 끝나는가 싶더니 모두가 어디론가 이동했다. 나도 그들을 따라 나섰는데 세르비아 전통의상을 입은 학생들이 대부분이었다. 이날 축제의 마지막 순서인 전통 춤 공연을 위해서란다. 세르비아의 대표적인 전통춤은 콜로라고 하는데 출연자들이 원형을 만들어 좌우로 발을 엇갈리며 움직이는 역동적인 몸짓이 특징이란다. 이날 공연의 마지막 순서는 고등학생들이 장식했는데 유럽 전역을 다니면서 세르비아 문화전도사 역할을 하고 있단다. 모두 18개 팀이 참가한 공연은 두나브 강변에 마련된 무대에서 세 시간동안 계속됐는데 역동적인 세르비아의 문화를 제대로 볼 수 있었다.

SHORT MOVIE
By popular demand :), this is an experimental short version of the ride. These will be marked with an S next to the movie number. The reason for making these is to let you see if you're interested in the full movie.
In this one, I take you from the Put za Kragujevac Rd (from Mt. Avala to Lake Trešnja, seen in #56) to suburban settlements/villages of Vrčin, Zaklopača and Grocka. The only real problem with this ride is extremely bad road condition, but everything else is just great. You go through a forest, fields, onroad, offroad, have to climb, but also get to enjoy several great descents. There's also a surprisingly beautiful pedestrian zone in Grocka centre and the Danube river bank is just amazing.
In parts 2, 3 and 4, I will take you through Ritopek, Vinča, Leštane, Kaluđerica, Veliki Mokri Lug, Kumodraž and Jajinci. With pretty much more of the same - onroad, offroad, forest, Danube, climbing, descending, some churches, monuments and even a memorial centre!

#85 - Belgrade, Serbia - East Tour 1/4 - Vrčin, Zaklopača, Grocka (08/2013)
A great Eastern Tour of Belgrade suburban settlements is finally here! And this is really going to be incredible. Starting from a familiar place just after Mt. Avala (road seen in movie #56) and going through parts of Vrčin, Zaklopača, Grocka (part 1), Ritopek (part 2), Vinča, Leštane (part 3), Kaluđerica, VM Lug, Kumodraž and Jajinci (part 4)! Total of 96 km of descents, climbs, valleys, hills, fruit farms, residential areas, banks of the mighty Danube, monument of Vojvoda Stepa Stepanović and even a memorial site!
The entire ride took more than 11 hours to cycle and film, was done in a single day and will take much longer to edit. :) But so worth it. Though, pretty much a MTB only ride and you will see why.
In part 1, follow me down one of the worst roads in Belgrade through quite beautiful Vrčin area. With some great views of the surrounding valleys, you will surely understand its appeal and why it is the second most populous settlement in the movie. Then up, up, up and more up to Zaklopača and on a much smoother ;) offroad trail down to Grocka. With a central pedestrian area that is just incredible.
But, of course, each part will have its own ups and downs. And literally. :)
Special greeting goes to: Kids who spend their days at school while I go cycling. :) Sorry kids but you know how they say - been there, done that. Education is important and you have all summer for great fun. So study now and see you on rides in the summer.

#83 - Belgrade, Serbia - Resnik to Ripanj offroad (07/2013)
How about some more offroading through beautiful and somewhat secluded nature on the outskirts of Belgrade? With my circular meet the suburbs route in the planning phase, I was looking for a better way of getting to Grocka, avoiding Pinosava and those lengthy climbs. And my eye had caught a possible offroading paradise going from Resnik (seen in #29), along the railway, to Ripanj and then up directly for Grocka. So, of course I had to give it a go!
Well, it turned out to not be what I had imagined. ;) Which was a nice and easy way to where I wanted to go. On the other hand, it did turn out to be a very nice, adventurous and overall enjoying ride. Not one that I would repeat on a regular basis :) but a memorable one nevertheless.
Special greeting goes to: Children in Serbia not receiving necessary medical treatments as the government claims there is no money, but then spends millions of euros on something absolutely useless (mostly, their own pockets).
