Stowe, Vermont is an amazing getaway in any season. Whether you ski or just like to see the sights, whether you like to relax or do tons of things, Stowe is the perfect destination. While it is utterly quiet and so relaxing, there are also so many things to do, and it's easy to fill an entire weekend with many different destinations and lots of amazing food! Hope you enjoy this travelogue. :)

The Guilford Gazette: A Student Run and Produced Community Newspaper
The Guilford Gazette was an award winning student produced and run community newspaper, in Guiilford, Vermont. It began in 1995 and lasted for over twenty years as a student produced Place Based Service-Learning project. 7th and 8th graders ran the paper from pre-digital days in 1994 to post digital times. It's core purpose was to connect the community. For many years it helped to keep Guilford's 7th and 8th graders in the community under outside pressure to consolidate Guilford's middle school students in a regional facility. The Gazette still exists, but due to a number of circumstances, including lack of support by a new administrator, it is now produced by community volunteers outside of the school. learn more:

Mobile farmer's market hits the road
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Not everyone in the Tri-State has easy access to fresh food and that can be a health problem.
Two local organizations joined forces to fix that. TriHealth and the Freestore Foodbank launched the Healthy Harvest Mobile Market. Lower Price Hill was what officials call a food desert, a neighborhood without easy access to fresh fruit and vegetables. But help was on the way.
The Healthy Harvest Mobile Market will stop at Oyler School every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. For the last several years, Garry Sexton planted a small garden behind his Lower Price Hill home because it was the easiest way to have fresh food. Adam Marsh lived in Lower Price Hill his whole life and couldn't say where to find fresh produce.
The good news is fresh produce will be coming to them. TriHealth and the Freestore Foodbank partnered to launch the Healthy Harvest Mobile market, a 24-foot trailer that doubles as a produce stand. Monday through Friday it will roll up at various locations filled with fresh, often locally sourced corn, kale, peppers, potatoes and fruit. A month of trial runs has proven fruitful.
Mobile Market coordinator, Nick Reynolds, said, People have been excited to find us and they ask, 'Are you here every week?' and it's like, yeah, we're here every week.
Seven stops were currently on the schedule. Tuesdays it's at Good Sam near the Dixmyth entrance. Clinic patients will be referred to the market to make healthy choices.
Dr. David Dhanraj of TriHealth said, It's one thing for us to say, 'You need to eat better, you need to lose weight.' If we can't facilitate that it's really hard for us to expect better outcomes for the population we serve.
20 million Americans live in food deserts. Several pockets of Cincinnati fit the description. The Mobile Market will provide some welcome relief.
The Healthy Harvest Mobile Market will be at Oyler School Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. It will also make stops in Norwood, Covington and Winton Hills.
While farmers markets are only open in the summer months, the Mobile Market will operate year-round. The goal of the Mobile Market is to serve 250 families every week.

This Climb Almost Killed Me! Mountain Biking Raw New England Tech in West Rock State Park
Today we’re riding the trails in West Rock State Park which occupies both Hamden and New Haven Connecticut. For being what I’d consider an older trail system, West Rock is surprisingly well marked and easy to navigate. During our ride my buddy Paul showed us some of his favorite spots, including this grueling climb up the yellow trail which almost killed me.
And as the saying goes, “if it doesn’t kill you, then the downhill will”. Which brings us to our “reward” for surviving the climb up yellow; The purple down, or as Paul likes to call it, “Skull and Crossbones”. A spot on name for this raw and gnarly descent.
Overall, if you like to pedal and get some good, hard miles in, then West Rock is right up your alley. There are plenty of fun, fast XC trails which break up the hard techy spots. Don’t expect a ton of trail side features because you won’t find them here. Instead West Rock serves up classic New England style trails with more than enough of rocks and roots to keep you busy.

As much as I hate to admit it, summer is almost over. That means the days are getting shorter and soon we’ll be riding in the cold darkness. But before the leaves and snow begin to fall, we’re going to squeeze out every last drop of daylight and ride as much as we can.
