Guilin South Pearl Museum - Trip to China part 57 - Full HD travel video
The South China Pearl Museum is a very big licensed company producing and selling high-quality South China Sea Pearls. The cultured South China Sea pearls in the museum are almost silver in color and bigger than normal pearls. The smoothness and roundness is different from normal pearls, but they are as lustrous and beautiful as the natural ones used for rare and valuable jewelry.
The museum has an exhibition of South Sea Pearls.. Besides seeing the whole production process of pearls, visitors can even learn how to tell the differences between real and fake pearls. The shop also offers its latest and most popular pearls where you can browse and buy freely.

I come from a farming family, just south of the Manchester.

I’m an English expatriate, been living in Beijing for 22 years.
Michael Bates(Member of House of Lords; Minister of State at the Home Office)
I am currently 1,500 kilometers into a 1,600 kilometers walk from Beijing to Hangzhou.
Dominic Johnson-Hill(Founder of Plastered 8)
My business is called plastered 8 or plastered T-shirts. It’s ten years old, and we celebrate Beijing with graphic art work.
Simon Haworth(CEO of Dynasty Biotechnology Ltd. UK)
And right now, we’re in a very exciting phase, we’re raising a fund for investment in UK technology to bring that technology to China.
Andrew Shaw(British Chinese Jade Carving Artist)
I came to Suzhou in 2008 to pursue my dream to carve jade.
Daniel Cowen(British Student of Tsinghua University)
Most of my friends and family in the UK don’t have so much of an idea about China or Chinese culture.
Michael Bates(Member of House of Lords; Minister of State at the Home Office)
Quite a lot of people have said to us, are you crazy for walking through, using your two months to walk in China?
Lavender(British Student of Tsinghua University)
I think most of my friends, they were interested in China, wanted to learn more about it. But what we read about in the news was mainly short headlines, or one side of China, not really connect to the normal lives of people who live there.
Simon Haworth(CEO of Dynasty Biotechnology Ltd. UK)
Lots of people have said to me that China would be a great place to go, and every single person that I spoke to, I asked them what was it like, how did you do it.
Andrew Shaw(British Chinese Jade Carving Artist)
People in my country didn’t know anything about jade, if they thought of jade, it was something in museums and it was probably green, something to do with the far East or China.
Michael Bates(Member of House of Lords; Minister of State at the Home Office)
When I went to the massacre museum in Nanjing, my heart sank. What happened in that six-week period in Nanjing really was something that I had never fully comprehended before. If you want to talk about peace, we need first to understand the full cost of war.
Dominic Johnson-Hill(Founder of Plastered 8)
That was 2005. I was walking down this old alleyway, and I saw a tourist wearing a T-shirt that said I climbed the Great Wall. It is really an ugly T-shirt. It is a tourist T-shirt that everybody buys when they come to China. I recreated that T-shirt that said I climbed the Great Wall. Actually it's my worst ever selling T-shirt. But it started the whole brand and it started the whole change in this old street.
Xuelin Bates(Wife of Lord Michael Bates)
Many people might think can you really promote peace. But to us, this is our dream.
Daniel Cowen(British Student of Tsinghua University)
I used to think that money was maybe the only thing that mattered. I think my dreams are changing. Being here in China is instead one of my dreams, I like to get my mandarin up to a level of business fluency.
Andrew Shaw(British Chinese Jade Carving Artist)
In my late 40s, about 10 years ago, suddenly, one day, I came across the stone of heaven, I came across jade. And the moment I touched jade, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

China 2012 Trip Jan 24th Part One.wmv
Our third day in Shanghai we visited a water town. Lots of food, people and very beautiful sights.
China Trip January 24th & 25th, 2011
Shanghai
January 24th
The Broadway Mansions Hotel has a great breakfast, an all you can eat buffet with every possible food product known to man. Well it seems like that anyway..
Around 10:00 am we all met together in the front lobby and began a day of travel and visits. We again took the wee Yellow bus to a local outdoor commercial market and then after about an hour or so of shopping we visited with a local family. The husband of 83 and his wife of 79 travel China and take photos. It spent a great few hours with them, after which we went to a local restaurant and had a traditional Chinese New Years lunch.
The lunch consisted of many many small dishes, much like a Dim Sum. Lots of seafood and pork were used in the dishes.. We had a great meal and after a rest we drove to a local fish market. Yes a fish market. Very interesting experience, the market was dark, smelled of fish (da) and was packed with people all purchasing very small quantities of live fish. Yes, everything in the market was alive. No frozen or process fish here.. it looked like they only purchased one days portion. I guess in a country where food preparation is very important it would make sense to only purchase fresh produce daily.
Again back on the wee Yellow bus and off to the Chinese National Museum. We arrived there just before closing, around 4:00pm. So we only had at best one hour to tour this huge facility. Seven floor of Chinese Art and Culture covering over 8,000 years of history. We broke up into small teams and with Ella's help we explored the history of Jade in China, The history of costumes and clothing and finally the art of the written word.
All the exhibits were amazing and deserved much more time I we gave them.. So at about 5pm the guards started hurdling the masses out of the Museum..
It was a trip back to the Hotel. Just an informal pick up dinner with three others in the group. It took several visit to all three hotel restaurants before we ended up at the French restaurant. Yes, I know.. THE FRENCH RESTAURANT in China!! I guess we were really tired and not thinking too well..
January 25th
A early departure 7:45am as we drove to the first of two out door markets. The first was very park like with oriental buildings and bridges. We got there early and had the market much to our own. I could have been my imagination but there seemed to be many women alone in small groups. Perhaps looking for love in this beautify park. When ever I stopped and gave some attention to these women, they smiled, showed interested and responded to my wish to take a picture of them... This happened several times during our visit. If this is true then it would be a great way to meet a partner.
However, by around 11:00am the whole market was packed. I mean totally wall to wall packed.. We had to seriously work our way out and back to our wee Yellow bus.
The second market is called 'Water Town or Chinese Venice. A beautiful market with many canals and bridges.

That's where I found the portions of molten steel, a famous tourist destination with numerous gorges and beautiful scenery. If you go on a cruise along the rivers you can see all sorts of scenery. Look at the nature of non people start to your imagination. Believe it or not, this is the place to say the legend of the tortoise and the hare started orally. The village looks away as the Miao minority live. Somewhere tread new ground seems to be the excitement that only a travel case. Half the tourists Miao Miao virgin I might call that is alas a woman without age and relationship. Miao virgins here as much as the star. Miao language is different, but this means going through the Chinese feel that the music seems to be singing a nation. This is a place still remains a lot of unique cultural neat when civilization. Turn the millstone grinding maize in hand and very busy. The laid-back looks like a lot of our rural landscape and. Dogs and cats in the neighborhood, worked in the kitchen go to the roost, the rustic look is impressive. One older woman is seen along Miao groups shows a special place. It brought the suit to collect honey and eat directly. Miao men mainly work to catch fish in the river these days I will be a lot of that form. Groups went according to the old way go to catch fish. We received a strong impression in the traditional appearance of the Miao people think, but still continue the Mac called him uncomfortable and inefficient.

Episode 15: Hangzhou, China: Wonders of Walking West Lake Zhejiang 第15集:中国杭州:浙江西湖奇观 步行
We were BLOWN AWAY by Hangzhou. I think we had low expectations and in every area, it surpassed what we thought it would be. The main attraction in Hangzhou is West Lake. The lake is 13.5 miles in circumference and easily walkable, bu other options exist like electric carts and bicycles. All along the way, you run into famous pagodas, bridges, temples, museums, and places to sit along the lake. It's relaxing and very chill. The people are great. The food is outstanding and prices, believe it or not, were quite inexpensive and reasonable.
After hosting the G20, we thought that the lake and surrounding area would be highly commercialized, but it has maintained a very quiet, quaint and traditional environment. It took us about 10 hours to walk around the entire lake and back to our hotel. It was a long day, but well worth it.
The landscaping and natural beauty of the lake and mountains are breathtaking. Hangzhou is well worth a visit of at least a few days. Try to go during lotus season - it must be even more beautiful with all of the flowers in bloom. We did not have the chance to take a ferry to the islands; it rained one entire day and we ran out of time. We did hear the islands are lovely and being on the lake is a treat.
Music: Copycat and Numbers

Lijiang, Yunnan, China trip, 29 Nov to 10 Dec 2013
Lijiang in the Yunnan province of China is my first trip proper into that country; I had been to Macau and Hongkong previously. Lijiang is a UNESCO World Heritage site and showcases the Naxi tribe and Dongba culture - artistic, sturdy, independent folks - with a water-based civilisation. They are also friendly and I got by without being able to speak recognisable Mandarin! I have incorporated some of their more popular current songs opting for a more contemporary approach to my video. The fact that I do not really understand the lyrics and do not know who the singers are attest to my 'ignoramus' status. I do appreciate their tuneful renditions and I 'borrowed' these to create 'mood' for my video.

乌镇Wu Zhen - The Last Resting - on Water Town in China-刘若英2010年乌镇旅游 宣传片
Wuzhen enjoys a history of over 1,000 years since its establishment in 872 A.D. However, according to the textual research of the Tanjiawan site, one of the important cultural relics under state protection, ancestors of Wuzhen had lived here at the New Stone Age 7,000 years ago. The ancient Grand Canal nurtured the splendid culture of Wuzhen, and the long historic accumulation endowed Wuzhen with sound cultural deposits. Over more than 1,000 years, Wuzhen has never changed its name, address, water system or lifestyle. The traditional buildings are still well preserved after crossing so many rough years. Within the town, with a dense network of rivers and wharves, people build their houses along the river and establish markets close to bridges. Stone railings and arch bridges, arched gates across the street, imposing dwellings and spacious courtyards, river banks and verandas are all well preserved, presenting an original ecological scene of a water town in Jiangnan (the South of Yangtze River). Within the town, there are now more than 40 hectares of late 19th century original buildings, and more than 100 ancient stone bridges of different shapes. It is just like a natural museum of ancient architecture. In the town, watercourses and flagstone streets extend in all directions and intercross here and there. The native residents live peacefully in their old houses by water, just like their ancestors do before a long time .
Wuzhen has become a living fossil of ancient oriental civilization for its profound history and culture, graceful water town scenery, unique-flavoured delicious foods, various and colorful folk-customs and festivals. It's a kind of beauty that naturally endowed. While displaying the extraordinary charming of Chinese ancient culture and the soul of the oriental life, Wuzhen has become a disseminator of traditional culture and an emissary of the communication between China and foreign countries.
With a good integration of history, culture, nature and surroundings, advanced and complete service facilities, warmhearted people and service team, Wuzhen deserves to be your best touring destination in China, no matter for sightseeing, leisure, holidays or business activities.
Let's Tour Guangxi, China! - Day 4, Part 1 - Huang Yao Town!
The next stop was Huang Yao, an ancient town that is still populated by thousands of people today. There is a small Chinese Communist museum just outside the town. The real attraction of this tour stop, however, was the town itself.
The town is a gorgeous little place with people bustling around going about their daily business. Our English-speaking guide informed us that he had learned English from watching American TV shows like Friends and The Big Bang Theory. We were supposed to stay close to him at all times because it's easy to get lost in the town's narrow, labyrinthian pathways. Apparently the main attraction is to watch little boys in their underwear jumping off of a bridge and into the river below. And, of course, being little boys, they needed to show off and eventually started climbing on jagged rocks and jumping off of those instead. The town also has a small temple to a local hero. Praying to this hero is said to grant peace and protection. Huang Yao is an incredible little place that is definitely worth a visit.

Yunnan Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Yunnan in China.
Kunming is located in the Chinese province of Yunnan in southwest China. The Buddhist temple of Ykan Ton Si dates back to the Tang Dynasty. The design of the city’s largest temple complex was influenced by many diverse ethnic groups. The highlight of the complex is a lake in the middle of which a number of bridges lead to an octagonal pavilion. The Temple of Total Penetration (yes, that’s its name!) is a tranquil and peaceful haven amid the busy alleys of Kunming’s old town.In the west of Yunnan Province, there are magnificent views from Xi Shan Mountain. Across Dianchi Lake and nestled among the rocks are numerous temples that were once the scene of ritual sacrifice. On the downward journey, the temples loom larger and larger while earthenware images of Buddha depict various stages of life.Yunnan’s most famous site is the unique Stone Forest of Shilin. Its limestone rock originated from a long since dried–up ocean, when the elements set to work on creating its fantastic and bizarre forms. The most amazing formations were given dramatic names such as The Sea of Fire, Dragon’s Tooth and Heavenly Sword. Pagodas, columns and strange flowers appear to rise from the rock and to facilitate access tunnels and paths have been cut into the rock face. The Venice of the Far East is the nickname of the ancient Chinese city of Lijiang, in the northwest of Yunnan Province. The picturesque centre of the old town of Dayan is an architectural gem. Three rivers and several small creeks flow through the historic cit and there are various splendid stone bridges date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Bao Shan is a typical village of the region and is just as it was hundreds of years ago with farmers slowly leading their ox wagons through the village. The houses were built over a period of more than 200 year between the Ming and Qing Dynasties, in 14 and 16 A.D. Yunnan Province - place of simplicity, exquisite culture and spectacular natural wonders!
