We went to shoot real guns (at AJ Running Guns in Cape Town)! It was amazing - like, huge amounts of fun. Afterwards we headed over to Jamaica Me Crazy for a Caribbean-style lunch. What a fantastic day. If you haven't shot guns before, I highly recommend it.

I'm a South African vlogger currently living in Wild Wild Somerset West, but I've kinda stayed all over the place - from Cape Town, Betty's Bay, Villiersdorp and even ... ehem...Kuilsriver. i'm not sure what the end game will be from this vlog. In just a decade, more than 7,245 African rhinos have been lost to poaching.Will a recent decline in South African poaching mark a new dawn for rhinos?
In February 2017, the Department for Environmental Affairs released poaching statistics for 2016, showing a 10.3% decline in rhino poaching as compared with the previous year. There’s no reason to celebrate: 1,054 rhinos killed in South Africa alone during 2016 works out nearly three rhinos being killed every day. And while poaching is down in Kruger National Park, it is significantly up in other provinces, particularly KwaZulu-Natal.
Furthermore, there are continuing and worrying signs that poaching gangs are increasingly moving beyond South Africa’s borders; gaining a foothold in other African countries – many of which have less resources available to protect wildlife. We’re certainly not out of the woods yet.

GUN_FUN, utter carnage (indoor shooting range)!
It was time to experience something utterly different. Gun Fun is an exciting indoor shooting experience located in the heart of Cape Town. It's an indoor shooting range run by a team of experts. Safety is their number one priority but even with zero experience, one can fire a real live firearm and it's tourist friendly. There are multiple packages to choose from, ideal for private, group or corporate events. This was a first for me firing some really cool weapons and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend you give this one a shot, excuse the pun.

JOHANNESBURG, 20 December 2016 - Moalosi Mokhothu had been serving in the South African army for five years. He died during a gun fight with rebels in that country. Two of his colleagues were injured. His family says they’ve lost their sole source of income.

After our safari in Kruger National Park, we flew to Cape Town. Bo-Kaap is a small neighborhood in Cape Town that far exceeded our expectations. We loved walking around the colorful buildings before heading to an Eastern food market and the piers. The people of South Africa are so kind, and we loved our first day!
