Hi I’m Sue LeFavi with Ballenger reality. Habersham is a picturesque neighborhood situated along the broad river about 10 minutes from historic downtown Beaufort. When you first turn into this community you are welcomed here, which feels like a mini Main St. In Disney World with its charming retail shops and restaurants. It’s a master-planned waterfront community of about 400 homes, all reflecting that Lowcountry architecture with inviting porches and picket fences. It’s a very friendly community where where walking your dog can strike up a friendly conversation under the oak trees. Traditional neighborhood celebrations like the annual harvest festival, 4th of July parade and Easter egg hunt Bringing families together each year.! The amenities here include a large swimming pool, tennis courts, children’s play area, boat dock house and launch and many parks and ponds throughout. This pristine Community appeals to retirees, second homeowners, as well as young families looking for that small town feel to raise their kids.

Are you thinking about relocating or retiring to a coastal city? Well, Beaufort South Carolina with it’s quaint southern charm has so much to offer.
Hi, I’m Sue Lefavi with Ballenger Realty. For a coastal marsh view there’s the waterfront community, Battery Point, just southwest of historic Beaufort. It’s full of award winning historic homes and natural beauty.
Next we have Pinckney’s Retreat. All the homes here feature that Low-country architecture, nestled in a sanctuary full of wildlife.
If you prefer a gated community, there’s Island of Beaufort with it’s never-ending charm, situated in a park-like setting. And now, one of my favorites, Habersham. In 2018, Coastal Living named Habersham one of the top 20 places to live in the entire United States.
And we haven’t even touched on all the amenities that these communities have to offer. And, oh, without Hilton Head prices.
This is my backyard. If I can find my dream home I can help you find yours. So, if you’re interested in exploring what Beaufort has to offer please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I’d be glad to help.

Beaufort SC real estate waterfront - 2019
Are you thinking about relocating or retiring to Beaufort, South Carolina or the surrounding area? Its southern charm has so much to offer, with many diverse neighborhoods and landscape to choose from. Hi, I’m Sue LeFavi with Ballenger Realty and I’d like to share a few of my favorite waterfront communities with you.
Batter Point is just located a few miles southwest of Beaufort’s historic district on the riverfront, which is full of reward winning historic homes, boutique shopping, quaint restaurants, and in close proximity to the University of South Carolina Beaufort. This neighborhood has approximately 300 homes that overlooks the waterways and marshes of Battery Creek. 300 year old beautiful oak trees and coastal palms surround this Low Country neighborhood. You can enjoy the natural beauty strolling through the neighborhood, as well as enjoying many amenities which include a large swimming pool, community clubhouse, tennis, and boat storage. Battery Point also has a community boat dock, a boat launch, picnic areas, and fishing.
Next, we have Pinckney’s Retreat. It’s just a few miles from downtown Beaufort. This used to be an old private plantation. Its beauty is seen in the 400 year old oak trees covered in Spanish moss. Pinckney’s Retreat is a little bit smaller waterfront community with only 77 home sites, and all of them feature that Low Country architecture nestled in a sanctuary full of wildlife. The amenities here include everything from a pool, a grilling area and retreat house, kayak station, community dock, and plenty of walking trails to admire the gorgeous, tranquil scenery.
Another beautiful and popular community down the road from Pinckney Retreat is Islands of Beaufort. It’s a gated waterfront community with never ending charm situated in a park-like setting. It’s an excellent community for working professionals and retirees. There’s approximately 72 homes as well as 30 lots still available if you’d like to build your dream home. Amenities here include a swimming pool, clubhouse, fitness center, tennis courts, a playground, and two community docks. Both Pinckney’s Retreat and Islands of Beaufort are close to each other, just three miles south of downtown Beaufort.
Now, on to one of my favorites, Habersham. It’s located about eight miles west of downtown Beaufort. In 2018, Coastal Living named Habersham one of the top 20 places to live in the entire United States. As you enter this community, you’ll feel like you’re walking into a mini Main Street in Disney World with all the charm and friendliness, but added natural beauty with the large oak trees, parks, and greenspace. This is a larger community, with over 600 homes which all reflect the elegant Low Country architecture. It’s very inviting to stroll down the street and get to know your neighbors. Amenities here include the Main Street Marketplace, with shops and restaurants, waterfront parks and community dock, a swimming pool, playground, and a clubhouse.
Now, my all time favorite, Oldfield. This is a magnificent community that offers luxury living at its finest. It’s a gorgeous self-contained community of over 860 acres on the bank of the Okatie River and the heart of the Low Country. When you drive up to the gate, you will be blown away by the picturesque setting of acres of iconic white picket fences housing the most gorgeous horses. It’s located in a town called Okatie, which is halfway between Hilton Head and Beaufort and just a very short drive to Old Town Bluffton. All the homes in this gated community reflect the Low Country charm and elegance. This community has it all. World-class golf, fishing and hunting, an equestrian center that welcomes all riders and boarders, the sports club, which features a gym, a heated lap pool, a large outdoor pool, and tennis facilities. You can end your day at the River Club, enjoying a panoramic views of the Okatie River over a delicious Low Country dinner. This is a very inviting community, where move in ready homes are available, as well as the ability to build your dream home with one of their award winning builders.
If you’re interested in any of these prestigious communities or would like additional information about the area, please reach out to me. I would love to help you find your dream home in the heart of the south.
Habersham Parks and Green Spaces
The Habersham town plan was intricately laid amidst the natural landscape with particular attention given to the outdoor public realm of parks surrounding the homes for residents to inhabit and enjoy. There are over 70 acres of parks and green spaces preserved for residents to share throughout the community which help define neighborhood sections and give unique character to each one. Our largest, Habersham Park, contains a state-of-the-art tennis facility, terrace park house, fitness trails, basketball court, bocce ball court, garden plots, dog park, picnic areas and treehouse playground. Best of all, everything is within walking distance from your home; part of the town's unique, New Urbanism philosophy.

Beaufort SC Walking History Tour
CLICK THIS LINK for more information about Janet’s Walking History Tour of beautiful historic Beaufort SC. Located approximately halfway between Savannah and Charleston, you’ll find the picturesque town of Beaufort SC.
Known as the Queen of the Carolina Sea Islands, Beaufort’s visitors are quickly struck by both her beauty and her history.
Beaufort is the second oldest town in South Carolina having been chartered by the British over 300 years ago.
Beaufort’s rich heritage is a big part of its unique charm. It’s been acknowledged by many publications over the years, including a recent listing in Southern Living magazine’s “Small Towns We Love”. It’s easy see why.
Visitors are quickly impressed by the relaxing atmosphere of downtown Waterfront Park. The park is lined with numerous shops and restaurants on one side, and a breathtaking view of the Beaufort River on the other.
There’s no better place to take a short break than by sitting on one of the park benches and enjoying the view of the river while also observing the many splendid boats docked at the adjacent Downtown Marina.
And if all this sounds like a fun, the Beaufort experience becomes even more grand when one walks a short distance and surveys homes so impressive one historian was led to describe Beaufort as the “Newport of the South”.
Many of the homes are even larger than ones found in Charleston and Savannah.
You can soak in the beauty of Beaufort, but you wont be able to fully appreciate what makes Beaufort the jewel she is without hearing about the captivating history of this fabulous destination.
And is best done by joining Janet for her Walking History Tour.
Here’s Janet in action.
[clips of Janet]
Whether walking backward or forward, Janet never misses a beat.
Among the dozens of interesting facts Janet will share with you:
Is the part played by a former sheriff of Beaufort County, a direct descendant of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Learn about the Beaufort slave who stole a confederate supply ship in Charleston Harbor and gained freedom for himself and his family, and how he was one of the key people who made Beaufort the jewel it remains today.
You’ll also learn of recent archaeological finds which dates the oldest lasting settlement in the new world right here in Beaufort County. They’re rewriting the history books!
How is Janet’s tour being received by participants?
Currently, on a popular travel site all but one of the 79 people have given her a full 5 star rating. That’s down right incredible!
Come see the beauty that is Beaufort. And while here, spend two glorious hours with Janet and enjoy firsthand how she passionately describes Beaufort’s history like no other.
Click the button at the bottom of this video or on the link below and learn how you too can participate in Janet’s Walking History Tour and make your next trip to Beaufort one you will enjoy and remember forever.

Additional information:
When I took Janet’s Walking History tour, I was just in town for the day. It was a mid spring glorious day and the leisurely walk around town was just what the doctor ordered. It was the perfect way to “get away from it all” and mentally step back in time and relive all those three hundred years of history. There were so many interesting and fascinating events that I have decided to join Janet again for another tour in the future.
As i walked around town I thought to myself, what grand and glorious real estate here in Beaufort SC. I am not sure how it compares in price to a similar Hilton Head real estate, or for that matter, some of the real estate in Charleston SC. But I do know that some of the Beaufort SC real estate, the larger homes, are even bigger than those of Charleston and Savannah.
Beaufort tours are not nearly as extensive as those you find in Charleston SC. Charleston SC tourism is a big industry in Charleston, there are so many things to do in Charleston. Beaufort though much smaller, still has many things to do and Charleston even with all the things to do, can’t touch Beaufort for the small town charm.
The hotels in Beaufort are likewise less grand than the Charleston SC hotels, and of course less expensive. So if you are spending week in Beaufort, you can find very good lodging for a portion of the price for similar Charleston hotels. And you also gain a laid back lifestyle, a slower paced town than the larger more touristy Charleston. And it would be hard to become bored with all there is to do in Beaufort County.
