Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! SUMMARY
=======
The Hall of Fame for Great Americans is an outdoor sculpture gallery located on the grounds of Bronx Community College in the Bronx, New York City. It is the first such hall of fame in the United States. Completed in 1900 as part of the University Heights campus of New York University, the 630-foot (192 m) stone colonnade half-encircles the university library and houses 98 bronze portrait busts of a number of prominent Americans. Designed by architect Stanford White (who also designed the library), the Beaux Arts structure was donated by Helen Gould, and was formally dedicated on May 30, 1901.
New York University (under severe financial distress) was forced to sell the campus in 1973 to the City University of New York and it became Bronx Community College. Though the Hall's renown has itself faded, its architecture remains, and it stands as a secular national shrine not just to great men and women, but to Roman ideals of fame favored at the beginning of the 20th century.

Inside National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum - Cooperstown, New York
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is an American history museum and hall of fame, located in Cooperstown, New York, and operated by private interests. It serves as the central point for the study of the history of baseball in the United States and beyond, displays baseball-related artifacts and exhibits, and honors those who have excelled in playing, managing, and serving the sport. The Hall's motto is Preserving History, Honoring Excellence, Connecting Generations.
The word Cooperstown is often used as shorthand (or a metonym) for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, similarly to Canton for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
The Hall of Fame was established in 1939 by Stephen Carlton Clark, the owner of a local hotel. Clark had sought to bring tourists to a city hurt by the Great Depression, which reduced the local tourist trade, and Prohibition, which devastated the local hops industry. A new building was constructed, and the Hall of Fame was dedicated on June 12, 1939. (Clark's granddaughter, Jane Forbes Clark, is the current chairman of the Board of Directors.)

Around Kansas - Luther Haden Dummy Taylor, Famous Pitcher from Oskaloosa - July 5, 2017
(Frank) We’re back again. This is Around Kansas. I’m Frank; she’s Deb. It’s Wednesday again, and we’re into July. We’re in the good old summer time: baseball, hot dogs, and all of that. The next story is going to be about another baseball player, very famous one from the state of Kansas. He was deaf. You know how the catcher will give the pitcher signs? Dummy Taylor, that’s who the story is about, is really the one that created that because he was a pitcher. They needed to communicate. So he developed signs that the various players use. They still use them today on the field. That’s how they talk to each other. This is really a cool story about Dummy Taylor. This is a story suggested to me by Ben Coates, a player for the Topeka Westerns vintage baseball team. Luther Haden Dummy Taylor was a deaf-mute American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball from 1900 to 1908. He played for the New York Giants and Cleveland Bronchos and was one of the key pitchers on the Giants' National League championship teams of 1904 and 1905. In 1901, his first full season in the major leagues, Taylor led the National League by pitching in 45 games and ranked second in the league with 37 complete games. In 1904, he won 21 games for the Giants, and in 1906 his 2.20 ERA was the lowest on a pitching staff that included Baseball Hall of Famers Christy Mathewson and Iron Man Joe McGinnity. Taylor was the only successful deaf pitcher in Major League Baseball and was regarded, along with Dummy Hoy, as a role model and hero in the American deaf community in the early 20th century. In the 1900s, Taylor was reported to be the highest paid deaf person in the United States. He was also known as the comedian of the Giants teams, waving a lit lantern when an umpire refused to call a game due to darkness and coaching at third base in rubber boots when an umpire refused to call a game due to rain. In 2000, author Darryl Brock wrote the historical novel Havana Heat about Taylor's experience in professional baseball. The book won the Dave Moore Award in 2000 as the most important baseball book published that year. Taylor was born in Oskaloosa, Kansas in 1875. He was the son of Arnold B. Taylor, a farmer, and his wife, Emaline. At the time of the 1880 United States Census, Taylor was living in rural Jefferson County with his parents, two older brothers, and two older sisters. Some accounts indicate Taylor was born deaf. However, at age four, Taylor was not listed as being deaf and dumb or otherwise handicapped in the family's U.S. Census record. By age 10, Taylor was living at the Kansas School For the Deaf in Olathe. He was listed in the 1885 Kansas State Census as a pupil at the Deaf and Dumb Institute. Taylor continued to live at the Kansas School for the Deaf through his high school years. He was a pitcher for the school baseball team and participated in boxing. Interviewed in 1942, Taylor recalled he had dreams as a boy of becoming a great boxer, but his parents objected. At the time of the 1895 Kansas State Census, Taylor was living in Olathe. After leaving the Kansas School for the Deaf, Taylor began playing semi-pro baseball with a team in Nevada, Missouri. He then played at Lincoln, Illinois, and with minor league teams in Wabash, Crawfordsville, Danville and Terre Haute, Indiana. In 1897, he played for a minor league team in Mattoon, Illinois. He played for the Shreveport Tigers of the Southern League in 1898 and 1899. In 1900, Taylor began the season playing for Albany, New York. At the time of the U.S. Census in June 1900, Taylor was residing at a boarding house in Albany; his occupation was listed as a printer. In August 1900, Taylor was called up to the major leagues to play for the New York Giants. He made his major league debut on August 27, 1900. In his first game for the Giants, five Boston players tried to take advantage of Taylor's deafness by trying to steal third base. Interviewed in 1942, Taylor recalled with pride, I nailed each one. I walked over to Herman Long, the last man caught, and let him know by signs I could hear him stealing. Appearing in 11 games for the 1900 Giants, Taylor compiled a 4–3 record with a 2.45 ERA. In his second season in the major leagues, Taylor was a workhorse for the 1901 Giants. He led the National League with 43 games started and appearing in a total of 45 games. In nine seasons in the major leagues, Taylor compiled an overall win-loss record of 116–106 and 767 strikeouts. He threw 237 complete games and 21 shutouts. He had a career ERA of 2.75. Taylor was profoundly deaf and communicated on-field with his teammates in sign language. He is credited with helping to expand and make universal the use of sign language throughout the modern baseball infield, including but not limited to the use of pitching signs. Taylor was inducted into the American Athletic Association of the Deaf Hall of Fame in 1953. He was also inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

Message from God to the World Part 2 of 12
This is the video of an extremely profound, momentous and historic speech titled: MESSAGE FROM THE CREATOR AND SOVEREIGN LORD OF THE UNIVERSE TO THE WORLD, delivered, at God's instruction, by Dr. Ebipamone N. Nanakumo on Monday June 1, 2009 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, USA. Since his childhood, Dr. Ebipamone N. Nanakumo has always dreamt dreams and seen visions. In 1995, he was taken up to The Throne of God in Heaven and was commissioned by God to testify, in a peculiar way, about God to mankind for the benefit of mankind. This Message gives an account of God's warnings, through his Servant/Messenger, to President Clinton, the United States and the world, of God's Wrath and Judgement on account of the refusal to stop the validation, promotion and teaching of homosexuality as acceptable sexual behavior to school children. In 1997, God revealed to his Servant that homosexuality will provoke the Wrath of God upon the United States and all countries that approve the practice of homosexuality! God then instructed his Servant to send a very urgent written warning to President Clinton. Furthermore, a detailed account is also rendered of how God revealed and instructed Dr. Nanakumo, in 1998, to warn President Clinton and the United States of the destruction of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the ensuing war against terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq, more than three years before the unbelievable events unfolded!
The speech includes God's revelation of the state of utter corruption of mankind and America's rejection of God. Very importantly, God's sovereignty over the universe he created, and ipso facto, God's supreme control of human and world affairs is incontrovertibly proven in the speech. In particular, why God chose George W. Bush over Al Gore to win the 2000 US Presidential Election is clearly explained. Indeed, Dr. Ebipamone N. Nanakumo, prophesied with pin-point accuracy in October 2004 that then incumbent President of the United States, Mr. George W. Bush would win the November 2004 United States Presidential Election and that the outcome of the election would be determined by two issues: homosexuality (gay marriage) and abortion!
In this time of unprecedented economic crisis and anxiety afflicting the United States and the entire world, God revealed to his Servant, in a vision on Saturday January 31, 2009, the glad tiding that President Barack Obamas Economic Stimulus Plan will succeed!!
The speech also proclaims a prophecy revealed to Dr. Ebipamone N. Nanakumo by God on the 4th of September1998 that the oil-rich Ijaws of the Niger Delta, who have suffered ruthless oppression and heinous genocide in Nigeria, will successfully secede from Nigeria. What is impossible with man is possible with God! God has judged righteously. God has decreed justice and freedom for the Ijaws; and God will orchestrate and control the events that will lead to their emancipation. God shall take the Ijaws to their Promise Land. Just as God delivered the Israelites from bondage in Egypt thousands of years ago, and emancipated black South Africans from apartheid some years ago, he will deliver the Ijaws from oppression in Nigeria.
Ebipamone N. Nanakumo, a medical doctor by professional training, is a Servant of God called to testify of God to all nations, kingdoms, peoples and rulers of the world; to clarify all doubts about God and emphasize God's sovereign lordship of the universe; to engender righteousness and faith in humanity, avert the Wrath of God and bring God's glorious salvation to all mankind. Ebipamone N. Nanakumo is currently Assistant Director, Utilization Management Department, Lincoln Hospital, Bronx, New York, and maintains an office in Brooklyn, New York. He maintains a home in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and could be reached by email at: ebinana@att.net.

Fighting for Civil Rights, Then & Now with Dr. Ron Daniels | Bob Herbert's Op-Ed.TV
We seem to be in a period of great ferment, if not turmoil, in the United States right now. We’ve had a terror attack in California, and mass shootings have become a standard feature of American daily life. Meanwhile, protests have erupted across the country in response to police shootings, many of them captured on video and some of them clearly indefensible. And, we are in the midst of a presidential election campaign, the likes of which many say they have never seen. Donald Trump is far ahead of the GOP pack with his bombastic and often offensive rhetoric. What does it all mean? We try to sort it all out with a longtime veteran of America’s political and civil rights upheavals, Dr. Ron Daniels, a former head of the Center for Constitutional Rights who is now a distinguished lecturer at CUNY’s York College in Queens, as well as president of the Institute of the Black World 21st Century.
Taped: 12-08-15

The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball franchise based in the Bronx borough of New York City that competes in Major League Baseball (MLB)'s American League (AL) East division. They are one of two Major League clubs based in New York City; the other club is the New York Mets. The club began play in the AL in the 1903 season, after owners Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the defunct franchise known as the Baltimore Orioles (not to be confused with the modern Baltimore Orioles) and moved the team to New York City, naming the club as the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed as the Yankees
The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by the family of George Steinbrenner, who purchased the team in 1973. Former catcher Joe Girardi is the team's manager, and Brian Cashman is the team's general manager. The team's home games were played at Yankee Stadium from 1923 to 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. In 2009, they moved into a new ballpark of the same name after the previous venue closed. The team is perennially among the leaders in MLB attendance—in 2011, the Yankees had the 2nd-highest attendance.
One of the most successful sports clubs in the world, the Yankees have won 18 division titles, 40 AL pennants, and 27 World Series championships, all of which are MLB records. 44 Yankees players and 11 Yankees managers have been inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Yogi Berra. In pursuit of winning championships, the franchise has utilized a large payroll to recruit talent, particularly under former owner George Steinbrenner. According to Forbes, in 2013, the Yankees are the highest valued sports franchise in the United States and the 4th in the world, with an estimated value of approximately $2.3 billion. Due in part to their success, the Yankees have garnered enormous popularity worldwide[citation needed] and a dedicated fanbase, as well as widespread enmity from fans of other MLB teams; the team's intense rivalry with the Boston Red Sox is one of the most well-known rivalries in sports.

Who is Rudy Giuliani? Former New York City Mayor Turned Trump Lawyer | NowThis
Here’s how former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani went from writing “Vote democratic!” in his classmates yearbooks to defending Trump’s ‘locker room talk’ degrading women. This episode is narrated by comedian Lizz Winstead.

It's no pee tape but Trump 'motorboating' Giuliani is certainly a disturbing visual. Rudy Giulinani, Trump's lawyer (one of many) was tapped with the task of cleaning up the Russia investigation. How did he handle this you may ask? By redirecting America's attention, and the media's focus, on the Stormy Daniels lawsuit.
In a Fox News exclusive interview, Rudy Giuliani spilled the beans that the President did reimburse Michael Cohen for paying porn star and executive Stormy Daniels $130K, a revelation that Sean Hannity wasn't ready for. He also went on to say that Daniels has no reputation, comparing her to Donald Trump's wives saying, Look at his [Trump's] three wives, beautiful women, classy women, women of great substance. Stormy Daniels?...Explain to me how she could be damaged? She has no reputation.
This is how former mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani went from staunch democrat, idolizing John F. Kennedy, to working for former President Gerald Ford, to switching to the republican party during the Reagan administration, to aiding President Trump in redirecting attention away from the Russia investigation by focusing on the Stormy Daniels lawsuit.

Nicknamed the Queen City,[9] Charlotte and its resident county received its name in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who had become queen consort of Great Britain the year before the city's founding. A second nickname derives from the American Revolutionary War, when British commander General Cornwallis occupied the city but was driven out by hostile residents, prompting him to write that Charlotte was a hornet's nest of rebellion, leading to the nickname The Hornet's Nest.
Charlotte has a humid subtropical climate. Charlotte is located several miles east of the Catawba River and southeast of Lake Norman, the largest man-made lake in North Carolina. Lake Wylie and Mountain Island Lake are two smaller man-made lakes located near the city.
